These essences completely destroyed any balance the game had. cleared floor 9- 15 without losing a single run due to essence. Only way to really lose is in the first few cycles where you dont get any essence unless you get the capsule.

By making duds remove themselves, the game now makes endless runs just as viable on any floor, allowing endless players to enjoy the challenge of getting a run started with more difficult settings.

It feels like the descriptions need some work. Most streamers are getting a bit mixed up as to whether the effect happens on the essence items UNTIL they're destroyed or AFTER they're destroyed. E.g. lemon is only until the item is destroyed. Maybe if it happens UNTIL destroyed, the description of what it does could come before the description of how it's destroyed, like how Black Pepper does it.
Yeah, I have to say it's really confusing because some only happen after destruction and other only before. No clue how to improve it, hut maybe the ones that happen on destruction could simply not involve the essence being destroyed
Do note that black peppers solution wouldn't work on something like lemon because of how the conditionals work. Black pepper is "Under X condition do Y and get destroyed", which is easy to make clear. However something like lemon is instead "Under X condition do Y, under Z condition get destroyed"
Tyler the Time Machine doesn't make every consumable transform in 0 turns after the item's destroyed. It allows for 3 consumables to take 0 turns and then gets destroyed, otherwise it would be pretty OP
Essences are great. They add goals with benefits and add great synergies, that lessens the luck part of a round. They are still broken as heck and needs to be balanced a little bit, though.
I’ve played this game a lot and before all the huge updates and while I enjoy the new stuff the game is now 100x easier and kinda took alot of the challenge out. I’m talking about even the highest floor as well it’s hard to even lose anymore.
Honestly I love this update, made the game so much more consistent with more chances to save yourself from a bad start if you play well. Floor 15 is brutal but still totally fair.

I appreciate the dud changes because the only way to remove them was through high rng which was eh to say the least, but the curse addition is just free buffs. Either really good temporary buffs like telescope or just great permanent buffs like the ace (as seen in this run). I haven't grinded yet to higher floors, but my first experience was like I could play on autopilot which while the game was already easy autopilot is a big change in pace from previously
