Omg.. I remember my now 67 year old dad playing this and other songs by Holy Cross Choir every Sunday back in the late 90s. He had their cassette tape and it would be played every Sunday when we would return from church. So good to hear it again after more than 20 years.
Thank you for posting this. My mom used to play these records when i was 4/5yrs old...today i just thought of searching for this song on YT and i was so glad to find it. From Bulawayo
This reminds me of my good neighbours in Chitungwiza early 80s. The Nares bless them onyathi wherever they are SA, Beitbridge, Germany whichever diaspora they now live. Good memories I hv.
I think I should cut and paste your comment. Everything you wrote matches what I was gonna write. Down to my age 35. We had the LP Record of this Choir.
Growing up my father used to by this group's cassettes at Express Record Bar inside Express Stores. He passed on exactly 1 year ago and now this music consoles my soul. With love from Zimbabwe
Thank you so much! When I was 24 years old, I did a movie in SA, the driver that took us to the set played it every morning. I loved it so much that he gave me the CASSETTE! Giggle! I gave him Tracy Chapman, which he loved. I have never forgotten this song and I am so happy to hear it again since that tape was unusable a few years later. This song and the singers are so beautiful and talented. Thulani Nilalele means (if I remember correctly) Be quiet and Listen. I love that. That is the story of my life. Listening within. I love you!
Every time I hear this song"Thulani Ninalele"iam thinking on te that time was was a UN Militair on mission in Mocambique. Its give me hope en power to do my job in a christian way. As a Dutch ( Netherlands Militair on peace keeping mission 1994.)
I miss this songs for years,it is very nice to listen ,what happen to the choirs ,still people who can sing that songs? Dancing and smile, ooh thank God.
