Bill was rejected due to majority who didn’t accept it so I guess we should all who agree to this bill must start a trend to pass this bill. After all majority is authority. @@shivam-nh5de Yes, according to peaceful teachings.
It is in Surah Nisa. Beating wife hard (skin becomes red) is not allowed in Islam, this law is against the teachings of Quran. Beating your wife is allowed to a limit where skin does not become red, meaning it is not beating, it is like gently tapping while saying "please talk and think sensibly".
Read the full Quran. It says that,
1."if you sense ill-conduct from your women, advise them ˹first˺,"
2.˹if they persist,˺ do not share their beds,"
3."˹but if they still persist,˺ then discipline them ˹gently˺." (which you anti-Islamic normally quote as beating)

Im a 19 year old girl living in this fucked up country and tbh I don't feel like that pakistan is ever going to progress and you know what is the main reason?? its our education system. We are living in 21 century or kitaben hamari wohi hain jo hamare amma aba or baap dadaon ne parhi hain. How tf we are supposed to progress with this kind of practicals and education. Lekin bhai yahan to pare likhe log bhi jahilon se ziada khatarnak hain just like imran khan. I don't see any ray of hope for betterment in upcoming generations too kuin ke ajkal ke gen z's bhi misoginistic, sexist , racist soch leke bethe hain wo apne bachon pe bhi yehi soch musalat karenge. And what shocks me the most is that women contributing to oppresion for themselves like saying ham log ese nhi karsakte mera bhai ya shohar mujhe marna ka haq rakhta hai like???!!! Bibi tumhare low standards hain zameen boos dusri aurton to kuin involve kar rahi ho khud hi pito. In our university we have female teachers and one day one of them said ke " i don't support feminisim i support gender equality" i was like bibi kehna kia cha rahi ho ek hi cheez ka to nam hai ye but then i realize she is trying to get validation from her male students and i heared all of the men clapping in our class like ?? How incomplete one must gotta feel to seek validation of your opinion from a gender who doesnt even know what kind of discrimination other gender feel on daily basis. I as a women get discriminated on the base of gender which i didnt even choose!! I literally dont want to live in this country I'll literally leave this country one day. Inshallah. You are a very rational person. But sometimes I feel that in order to mock the idiotic arguments on the other side, you use strawman and don't address the difficult conversation that is required. For example, in child-parent relationship case, the more difficult question is this: who does the child belong to - parent or state? What is the exact point at which state should step in to decide that there is emotional or psychological harm? Is it at scolding, or using abusive words, or physical harm? These are very difficult questions, especially considering the society we live in. The easy questions you keep addressing. Like if someone is breaking their child's leg, we know that's wrong. But how will we decide the scolding part? Should we allow state to interfere in every difficult interaction? These questions require much care and detailed analysis than what you are presenting.

      My humble opinion:-
Child does not "belong" to anyone but it's parents and states responsibility to look after the child in their own respective jurisdictions. As for as emotional/mental or physical abuse is concerned state should have avenues or channels for children for this problem as emotional/mental damage is just as bad as physical if not worse (100% suicide is due to mental/emotional damage so one can imagine how much more painful emotional/mental pain is compared to physical). Lines should be drawn with respect to experience of general public. In my opinion physical discipline is not justified against a child for poor academic performance but justified if he's bullying or being violent/oppressive with other kids. I've been beaten by my teachers for poor academic performance and still have trauma because of it. I still curse those teachers because of it. If any teacher was to beat my child only because of poor academic performance, I would first personally go to my child's school break the teachers bones with my bear hands and then address the problem of why my child is not doing well in a civilized manner.
