Alien Crush is still my favorite pinball game of all time. Playing that game in the dark when it first came out at my friends house was just so amazing as a kid. I love the Turbo soundchip. It's so spooky and mysterious sounding. It gave all the games such a vibe.
I don't really care for shooters despite having several, though Cyber Core is my favorite shmup on the console....yes I have LoT & GoT but Cyber Core with its bosses, music and being a vertical scroller will always be top dog for me. Devil's Crush is definitely one of my top faves and is the one I play and replay the most. Literally at least once a week or two. Sometimes I turn it on just to listen to the music.
Nice video on a great subject! The Turbo had some of my favorite moments in classic gaming- and it's just so hard to appreciate today just how advanced so much of even their launch library was to NES players when it came out.
Military Madness struck the perfect level of involvement for me as a kid. I still really enjoy the game and consider it my favorite of the system. My dad, and therefor my brother and I, loved Alien and Devil's Crush! You're spot on with DC being a perfect game. I consider myself extremely lucky to have played these when they were new. Most kids I knew had no idea what TG-16 or any of these games were. Props to my dad for buying us cool shit, great memories!
Great video! Cyber core was a nice surprise, i didn't have high expectations when i first played it but the game surprised me for how good it looks and plays. Magical chase is definitely the best on this list.
The PC Engine was home to 3 Bomberman games, the Wii VC is how I have Bomberman 93 and Bomberman 94 (as well as Ninja Spirit and R-Type, and all 3 Bonk games). First one is pretty decent as well, shame it was never put on the Wii, along with 93 and 94, would've been a great trilogy. I have a few CD games, but no console, Super Darius (great port), Rainbow Islands (awesome port), Gradius II (awesome port), and of course, the oddball of the 4, Tokimeki Memorial (it has a couple hidden games inside). Of course TM is impossible to play without knowing the Japanese language, but damn is it a beautiful game, the spritework is phenomenal.
I missed the TG-16 as a kid. Like everyone else, I believed it to be inferior to the Genesis and Snes. It wasn't until later in life I discovered my mistake. Then Konami of all companies decided out of the blue to grace us with the PC Engine/Core Grafx/TG-16 Mini. Now, I tried to get a TG-16 Mini, but I just couldn't get one. Thankfully, however, I was able to score a Core Grafx Mini. Now, I have just about every mini console that has released. From the Nes to the Genesis Model 2 Mini, Neo Geo International Mini...I have many minis. The Core Grafx Mini is the very best mini that has ever been made. From the care that went into its creation to the huge library of games, it comes with I love it. I don't think we will ever see another mini like it again but a gamer can dream.
Blazing Lasers It's probably my favorite shooter of all time and devil's crush and alien crush are definitely the best pinball video games I've ever played. There's a super famicom crush game called Jaki Crush that is pretty dang good as well.
Awesome video and really like your choices, even if I wouldn't necessarily pick the same games. That's the fun of videos like this: you get to see what other peoples' favourites are. BTW, you can get Devil's Crush and Alien Crush soundtracks on vinyl - on one LP. I picked it up myself and it's awesome. You even get the Star Soldier soundtrack as a bonus on the B-side. On a side note: I used to be in a band that only played horror movie soundtracks. I would have loved to have brought in Devil's Crush to the band. lol
@@Johnnygrafx The ones you listed are really well done. Its just fun when they turn a theme into this DragonQuest like RPG in order to get you into playing [tennis, racing]
Magical Chase sounds (and looks) amazing. Shame it wasn't released for the Wii Virtual Console or the TurboGrafx Mini, leaving it doubtful that I'll ever play it. I love Blazing Lazers. It's always good for a short romp. It's a shame that the last level is so insanely difficult, but save state abuse via the TurboGrafx Mini allowed me to finally see the whole thing. And like many shmups of the era, you don't need to beat it to enjoy it. I like the look of Alien Crush and Military Madness but haven't had the chance to properly dig into them yet, just a few quarters dropped on Alien Crush.
Great game! Bought one at Toys R Us at a massive video game sale in the mid 90's for 99 cents along with every other turbo game I could get my hands on. The value of this game is insane.
I might have a few different opinions in both videos, but overall you definitely highlighted some of the best TurboChips (Hucards lol). CD based games next?
I'll probably do another PC Engine hidden gems video first because I've been discovering a lot of them lately, but yes CD games definitely deserve their own conversation!
@@Johnnygrafx So many awesome PCE games. I sold my N64 collection and spent almost all of it on PC Engine and Turbografx games. Best decision I could have made. Now I own almost all the ones I want. Just a few more to go.
Ummm... Black Bomberman isn't black. Even if he was black, targeting him doesn't mean anything. Black Bomberman is being treated the same as any other color Bomberman. No, if you deliberately try to avoid him for his color then, and only then would it be wrong.
Cool, some of these are great picks for Halloween too!
Yup!

Yup agreed it's my favorite soundchip of all the retro systems easily.
AC showed every graphic and sound advantage the Turbo had over Genesis but too bad it was about the ONLY game that did that

New to the channel and am enjoying what I'm seeing. Looking forward to digging thru the backlog
You need to make The BEST of the TurboGrafx-16 Part 3 with R-Type, New Adventure Island, and Galaga 90.
Don’t sleep on Splash Lake
Great video! Cyber core was a nice surprise, i didn't have high expectations when i first played it but the game surprised me for how good it looks and plays. Magical chase is definitely the best on this list.
Yup same. Cyber core doesn't make an amazing first impression but it'll win you over.
Bravoman is one of my favorite games of all times. I know it rarely tops the list of "best TG16 games", but that goofy game is very nostalgic for me.
Yup I like it too! Eventually I'll find an excuse to talk about it again.

I haven't played TM I don't think. I'll check it out!
Alexi Laiho passed a few years ago sadly. Def need to check out the pinball games.
Definitely. Also check out Jaki Crush on the super famicom if you can. Basically a third entry in the series.
Nice video. I always like to see some old school games even though I have not played them. Also nice channel description hahah :D

Nice! who sells those LPs? I might have to grab em if I can. Glad you liked the video 🙂
@@Johnnygrafx If you google it there are multiple stores selling it. Just pick the best price and enjoy the Turbo music! 😀
Gotta try out the RPGs in World Court Tennis and Final Lap Twin. Nowhere as good as what you covered but those RPGs were throwbacks!
Yeah I *almost* included final lap twin. I do enjoy it. The tennis one is cool too.

Magical Chase doesn't get mentioned alot because loose, CIC, or CIB is thousands of dollars😅
Lol, yeah. Valid point.

Cybercore green(grasshopper) is the best with the blades destryoing incoming fire
Ninja Spirits reminds me of Legend Of Kage for NES
10:52 Oh, this looks interesting! I'll just hop onto eBay and...........holy shit 😮
Lol welcome to collecting for the Turbografx!
If you enjoyed Military Madness, Vasteel might be a game for you.
I’m not the only one who wants children of bodom to cover devils crush I see…
