Rhapsodie espagnole (Spanish Rhapsody), S.254, R.90, is a composition for solo piano composed by Franz Liszt in 1863. The piece is very suggestive of traditional Spanish music, and was inspired by Liszt's tour in Spain and Portugal in 1845. When played, this piece takes roughly 11-14 minutes and contains many technical challenges, including rapid chords and octaves. Ferruccio Busoni arranged the piece for piano and orchestra in 1894.
It includes free variations on La Folia and Jota Aragonesa and opens with a cadenza including blind octaves.

My father playes this piece a lot of times during concerts, unfortunately he never posted them to youtube, but when i listen to them... Just the performance in the world for me.
If ever there's a chance we can hear him playing this piece, I might be surprised.

for the first time after vehemently denying it, I'm getting into Liszt and I'm really happy with the colors and the fluidity in your videos! it makes listening to these pieces for the first time extremely enjoyable!
@asd asd I used to be a denier as well. I think it's just some of the most famous liszt pieces are ostensibly a show of raw skill rather than focusing on musicality, and some can sound completely foreign to your casual classical music listenr. however after repeated listenings you can start to understand liszt and his style, and the beauty of it. Then you get into more obscure works of his and uncover the true passion and romance behind his compositions. It can take time to appreciate his works, but it is time well spent.
@@jassskmaster7575 the issue is how everyone plays the HRs like they are some joke. in my opinion HR2 is an incredibly amazing piece, it's just that no one plays it well! even the good pianists fail to match my tastes...if played the way i feel it should be(even if that may not be how liszt would have wanted it), i bet everyone would love it not only for virtuosity

This piece both is similar to Hungarian Rhapsody no.2, Feux Follets (trans. no.5) and Fantaisie Impromptu. Well in just few parts but still i hear it there.

The melody i heard is from,Vivaldi's La foilla,baroque music.

Timothy Payne it’s based in a spanish/portuguese dance and Handel composed his sarabande based in that same dance Corelli Vivaldi and A.Scarlatti also composed follias

@@projectmfl8761 Händel's sarabande is not a real Folía, but is rather only inspired by it as evidenced by its melody. The rhythm is more or less the same as the base theme for La Folía.

I watch in 720p but the closest thing to it without lag is 480p. 480p is better than you would think if you have a bad computer and try to watch HD, I can usually handle up to 1440p60

Debbie I'm a diehard Liszt fan, which is my all time favorite composer(of course after Chopin, there's special place for him in my heart), but that piece is just pure noice, just some random improvisations on Paganini themes glued together into one whole piece with few very good moments, excluding the beginning which is beautiful. The better choice would be very underrated s. 140 set which is sadly overshadowed by it's revised version, i find it to be way superior and more pleasant to my ear than s. 141(and the s. 140 campanella gives you way more Paganini-like feeling and it even has the theme from the first violin concerto, which la clochette also has)
