As a Christian foremost, and also a singer/songwriter/musician, it hurts me that our people are so dismissive toward the talents of others. Aren't we praising the same God? Gospel music is a ministry, therefore the variations in sound, style and talent will reach those it needs to reach; keeping in mind not everyone enjoys the same style. But whatever comes from the heart reaches the heart. Is the message of this song true? Absolutely! I LOVE Karen Clark Sheard's amazing voice. Her talents are truly phenomenal..........BUT....... this lady Nikki is also extremely gifted! I can see how people might compare her to the "likes" of Karen, because Karen seems to set the standard and the standard is high. But, that in and of itself is to Nikki's credit; to be included in the same breath as Karen. However, God himself; the giver of these gifts would NOT like us to show favoritism toward one over the other. They are both tremendous vocalists. I bless God for the gifts he has placed in both of these women. Isn't that the purpose? I think we loose sight of the message and the purpose of the dispensation of the gifts when we compare. Are we to glorify the barer of the gift or the gift-giver? I don't know about you, but I praise God when I hear EITHER of these women sing, because their gifts are a testament of God's glory and what he can do. I might also add that criticism of people's gifts or lack thereof, robs them of making their joyful noise unto the Lord, as it might be a hindrance to the spirit, and perhaps discourage some from ever sharing their gifts. A person's best is without comparison! Let's grow up! If you are in the body of Christ, you SHOULD be on the same team, not competing with others for vainglory. In short, (too late...lol) let's enjoy and embrace those who are gifted, but let's reserve our worship for God alone!

I really love this song. There is a message and a testimony in this song. This song has a special meaning to me, because in less than one year's time God has brought me through cancer. As of May 10th of 2018 I am cancer free and then on March 10th of this year 2019 year He gave me a new kidney and I no longer have to go on dialysis. He's done so much for me that I couldn't do for myself, so I've got to praise Him, because He's been just that good.
