Oh and as far as Dimash not winning that show it was because at that time they had a rule that the winner had to be from China. But because of the uproar concerning the injustice in not letting the obvious, hands down true winner (Dimash) take the trophy the rules were changed. 🙏
I really fell in love with Dimash's singing in this song and in this particular performance. The song is beautiful and Dimash's rendering is magic. He is like the successor of the bards of old who told stories through songs that took people's breath away. It's so sad that many of Dimash's haters attack Dimash that he's just a technical, emotionless singer who's just showing off.

This is more of 6 years ago..Beautiful version but is not one of my favorite..Dimash has many versions more new/actual of this emotional chinese song,and in some his concerts he mixed in one song Late Autumn/Autumn Strong with the japanese song Ikanaide..Dimash is absolutely a phenomenal genius..However one of my favorite version of Late Autumn/Autumn Strong is Kiev concert march 2020..King Angel Dimash forever

Love, Love your Dimash reactions!❤ If Dimash had been from China, he would have won, but realistically he did win, because he has millions of fans all over the world. If we ever make it to a concert, we can sing the chorus of this song with Dimash, it has to be an incredible experience to be at Dimash’s concert with fans of all ages and nationalities singing in so many different languages with Dimash, and he loves it when the Dears sing ❤. He is a Unifying force!
Probably many other more knowledgeable Dears will write in, but the real reason Dimash did not win is due to the fact that he was a special invite to this competition, BEFORE the event contract was rewritten to permit ANY nation's performer to win. Up until Dimash's session, only a Chinese artist could win.
A point John missed is that "Autumn Strong" is actually a reworking into Chinese of the Japanese song by the famous and talented Japanese artist, Tamaki Koji. Dimash slays the original Japanese song at the 2020 Tokyo Jazz Festival - recorded in a studio under COVID restrictions! Hopefully, John will also react to that soon.
As someone who lived and worked in Japan for a decade and is fluent in Japanese, Dimash really mastered the nuance of Japanese in his performance.

@@barbaraspeckarmy the next season the rules were changed, think of what happens when someone wins these shows in the US, they are under contract for someone else, completely controlled, it’s not the best thing to win these competitions in the US, now I can’t speak about contractual obligations in other countries. So fortunately Dimash was famous overnight in China, 600 million people saw SOS, and now he is famous in places all over the world, but not being controlled by any Music Label, he has his own.

I will be interested to see if you prefer the Chinese version or Japanese original best. Though not sure 100% fair as the Ikanaide is more current and his voice has improved which still boggles my mind. I really look forward to hearing his voice in his mid 30s when fully mature. He improved his French pronunciation in subsequent versions! I don't understand people criticizing when most wouldn't even attempt what he does. I have even more admiration when I consider the added difficulty of his native language/ learned vocalizations being so different from other languages. It is easier for an English speaker to learn Italian than Chinese, for example. Even more difficult to learn language as an adult, too.

It is very sad when people attack others for where they are from. I too have seen some nasty comments about Americans. I too am American and I just can not see bashing someone for where they are from. Dimash seems to always try and sing and say at least a few words in whatever language the country in which he is performing speaks. When he was in New York he spoke a lot of English and also in his native tongue a few times. He sang in a host of languages and everyone was just happy and the entire atmosphere was just warm and wonderful.
This original song was written in Japanese. These were lyrics written specifically for this story. The original is called Ikanaide (ick-ah-NAH-ee-deh) The title means don't go or please don't go. It is the first public performance Dimash did in Japanese for the 2020 Tokyo jazz festival. Important to have the subtitles on because the original lyrics are different from these lyrics. It is dimash singing live in the studio. Please react to this performance as well.
Regarding your origin, I am muslim. We only care about your belief and deeds , the rest is immaterial. Dimash as usual dimashifies you and takes you o an eargasmic ride regardless of language. You should listen or react to the Japanese version Ikanaide sung in a studio (Tokyo Jazz Festival 2020).

I have been following Dimash since fall of 2017 and this performance is still in my Top Ten Favorites.
It's hard to believe that someone so young, only 22 in this performance, could express such emotion. He is just a stunning artist. ❤️❤️
Now you will understand more completely when you hear Ikanaide, the original that he sings in Japanese. It's a much more recent recording and you will appreciate how beautifully Dimash's voice is maturing. This title translates. " Please Don't Go". An incredible performance as well.

There is a great reaction of a chinese artist - portrait art in which he tried to explain a full reaction long, why it’s not possible to sing a song in mandarin without knowing the language quite well. Dimash only knew in Mandarin a few words. After that he saw the performance and was so exhausted and couldn’t believe that Dimash was 98 % right. When you see the reaction of the audience they also can’t believe it.

For me Dimash is extraordinary, not only because his voice ( I don't care what is his vocal range because I don't know music, I'm just a listener that likes or not the singer and they songs) but he made us discovery so many beautiful songs, like this one, in languages like Japanese (the original version named Ikanaide), Chinese, Kasack or even SOS, in spite of be a French song ( I'm Portuguese so I know well French singers and a lot of French songs), i never heard it before, that if it is not because Dimash, I as an European would never know

One of my favourite songs when dimash sings it. The song is beautiful already but dimash adds a different dimension.
No he didn’t speak any Mandarin then, & still says very very little now in Mandarin. But apparently his pronunciation is so good with this difficult language a native speaker said he sounded like a native speaker here.

He didn't win the "Singer" because he was not Chinese. Officially, he came in second, though if you watch the other contestents, you will see that all of them were very good. Even so I have sympathy for anyone who had to follow him in any contest.
You really need to do The Story of One Sky it’s about everything you just talked about, race, religion, culture, war and Dimash wrote it and starred in the video
He didn't win because was invited to a show where he was not supposed to win from the beginning because being a foreigner. So at that time they only aloud to win a Chinese singer. Dimash open the door for others foreigners like Jessie J who was declared winner of Singer 2018.

Another sad thing was that he didn't even win this tour. I think that's what they call the episodes. To be fair, he was the youngest there. Everyone else was a bit older professional singer or singers. I enjoyed some of the other artists. Terry Lin and the band Lion, who you see backstage in this video. They were all super supportive of him. The show learned their lesson because Jessie J won the next season.

Gloria wu had to adjust it a bit to get around copyright issues. So yes I think it is a half tone lower. I will be suggesting at a later point a live from a recent concert. Next week he will react to Ikanaide I believe. I just felt him understanding the song would help. That and John has a lot that are not Dimash fans in a sense so this wouldn’t have to be blurred. 😊

Huge Dimash Fan! He does not speak Chinese. He was talking in Kazak. He fluently speaks Russian though. Kazakstan was once under Russian rule. They only became a Republic in 1960!! 🥰🌹👍❤️🇨🇦 BTW, you are very charming Sir. Enjoy your reactions to Dimash.
Sorry but you're wrong in a way, he really sing this song in Chinese ( not Kazak), he learn ( you can see how hard was to him learn the chinese pronounce in this video, he talk about that). But it's truth that he doesn't speak chinese as well he doesn't speak french or Italian or Spanish, but he sing in this languages as well. He sing in 14 languages
