Anna is an original. Her quiet, almost self--effacing demeanor belies the depth of her ideas and the sheer breadth of her imagery. She is a poet of considerable ability and even if fame and recognition elude her, she is slowly assuming her place among the treasured female artists of our era. She has that rare ability to inhabit the heart of her subject and give it a most human voice. Her songs are less about something than the voice of the thing itself, and when she closes her eyes - I listen.
Anna is such an incredible talent. I've been lucky enough to have been seeing her concerts when she's in Seattle for 4 years now. She keeps getting deeper, more mature. She's an uncanny poet, and a wonderful melodist too. She really does those two in combination so well. Anyone who has a chance to see her play live should go.
