My gfs disabled, and it makes me look like a jerk sometimes because other people see me not helping her do things. Thing is she doesn't want my help and does fine without me and prefers doing things for herself. She really doesn't know it but I think she is one of the strongest people I know.Props to you for being strong and not letting your disability get in you way.👍

I get looks at the store because I don't do everything for my wife either. She needs independence and self worth. She doesn't want to be totally dependent on me. So I understand you.

I know what mean. It’s not really that they don’t want us to help. I think we’d just slow them down. Once people have their routine, anyone butting in on that gets them out of their groove.

Thing is to let people know that this is something she asked of you to let her do it herself.
Say I love that do nothing more than help her out with everything but she likes her independence and she wants to so therefore if she needs something she'll ask me.

Until recently I was my mother's caregiver and this was something, people didn't understand, sometimes my job was to stand back and let her do what she could do, even if it looked like she was struggling, she wasn't and the sense of independence it gave her was better for her then any temporary physical relief my 'assistance' might have given her.

I’m disabled myself with a horrible back injury from the service. If I see someone who’s disabled I will try and make an effort to ask if they need a hand. It’s not always about pity or feeling sorry for that person, sometimes people just want to help because it’s in our nature.

My wife inherited hers from her mother, so we often had two in my Escape. After my wife passed, I gave her scooter to my elderly mother. You are beautiful and smart. As a 66 year old that has been unable to get out of the house for 4 years without causing me extreme pain, I say of course it’s worth it! You do what you can. I’m looking forward to finally getting a scooter to get out in the world again! God bless you! It’s good to see a disabled person managing one of these!❤

I admire your strength and common sense logic as well, you are a most lovely young woman. I spent 12 yrs in the United States Marine Corps, we were taught, from day one, to improvise, adapt and overcome obstacles in life, on the job, and in the field. We had to be taught. You had to do that from day one of your life, no teaching, just common sense to get what you need and want. Semper Fi. Very proud to watch your life and to see you succeed.

Her personality and positivity is such an inspiration. She has a way better outlook on life than most people without disabilities including myself. I hope she finds someone worthy of that beautiful smile if she doesnt already have someone.

I love seeing this woman own her disability and is confident enough to record herself and explain her mind set assembling her scooter. I personally can see my self doing the exact opposite if I had this lady's disability with fear of being made fun. Thank you for this video, it's motivating and gives me a positive vibe. Once again, thank you and your beautiful soul.,😉👍

You are very independent and your outlook on life is amazing. You get a lot of questions, this is good. The more people understand the more the are comfortable and interested knowing a little bit more. More knowledge is more understanding. You keep dishing out the information and everyone will see people with disabilities in a whole new light.

Oh my goodness. I’m disabled from Covid and I need to use help walking. I can’t stand alone long so I really don’t shop. I can only go to Walmart or Target because they offer scooters for shopping. So I give big thanks to them. I recently purchased a scooter but I haven’t used it I didn’t realize how to breakdown the scooter until now! I have the exact model and I will definitely try to do exactly what you do! God bless you and thanks again for proving that we can do all things if we just want to! You are a very special beautiful woman! Stand strong!
