Thanks! I've been very busy on the USCutter videos that I have let me personal TH-cam page gather dust. I promise I will have some better videos on Ghost on both soon!
I just want to add. This process may not be for everyone. Some will not like the hand(feel) of the print as far as clothing is concerned. I wouldn't use this as my 1 and only process. But it does add some versatility to your business. Each piece of equipment you buy, learn every money making potential that equipment can offer.
Yesss, finally I've found the answer, thank you so much. I have the same HP laser jet pro as you. I knew about the white ghost toner, and the forever soft dark transfer paper. But was not sure if you could use them together 😊😊 your a star and I'll keep watching. Thank you. Tony from the UK
Great job explaining the process!! From print to final product. As someone who was very new to this I finally understand because of this video. Thank you, FREEDOM INK'D
I have watched your videos so many times you can come for Thanksgiving as a family member LOL I forgot to order the finishing sheet and thought I could use some coated butcher paper I had on hand that I use for stencils. Well it actually removed the entire print from the T-Shirt and it is now stuck to the paper. Would regular uncoated butcher paper work that I use for Sublimation? I will go and order the correct paper also. Thank you
Yes, you can use that same butcher paper you use with sublimation. Make sure you do a small test to ensure the toner doesn't stick to it just to be safe. I can't say that every type will work but I have not personally ran into one that doesn't yet.
I learned so much but now have so many more questions. Looking for a laser printer, now thinking, I need to make sure it has white toner... if I replace the black toner with white, I need black... Lol. I know I'm just too knew and need to slow down and get this info right. Thanks for this video.
First time using this product, it almost worked perfectly, but it left a few spots throughout the design where the adhesive didn't transfer. I tried repressing, but didn't work. What should I have done differently?
I use to have ghost toner and did not work for me. I went to DTG because most I do are t-shirts. Also, I use digital transfers but better ones. Cool video explaining this.
Nothing wrong with DTG at all! I'm glad that you found the solution that is growing your business and I appreciate you taking the time to watch my videos! Thank you so much and don't ever stop learning and growing!
I’m new to this. So I can’t use an ink jet printer? Is there another type of no cut paper for it? I’d hate to have to buy a cutter. Thank you in advance.
Having issues getting the lighter colors to transfer when pressing the b paper to the a transfer film. Tried running the images back through with a white backing but still not transferring over completely. Using a canon color image class LBP 622cdw. Any suggestions?
I have no experience with colour laser printers. I would like to know how you use the ghost white toner, do you replace the black toner with the white? And if so are the darks dark enough? I’d really like to know this as I have a complicate illustration to transfer onto black T-shirts.
Thanks, a lot have been learned. I will really appreciate if you could do a video that's teaches how to uses bulky laser copier printer for printing on forever transfer. Am using a canon c5240i and I cant seem to get the settings right I have wasted a lot of Forever heat transfer paper and to no avail, it prints but will come as melted smeared image. plus the colours arent colour. Can you please help... Thanks.
You replace the black cartridge with the white cartridge. I suggest using Ghost brand or OEM HP cartridges to prevent color change from the heat press. We do have a cartridge for that printer here - www.uscutter.com/Ghost-White-Toner-Cartridge-Comparable-HP-126A
I can't manage to print something decent with my canon mf651cw. Max toner density + paper set in thick 2 ( 160g/m²), it looks patchy, faded like the toner doesn't bond to the paper. It's been a week of trying
Have you had an issue with gradient colors, from dark to pale?? im having an issue with the pale color transferring to the shirt... im using cymk printer, but i can switch the black out for white... Are you suggesting to print in white first then print on color?
If you are printing everything on the same transfer ( CMYK &WH ) then you will print the CMYK first followed by the white underfilling layer. I show how the process I used to create the transfers used in this video in full detail here - th-cam.com/video/rPS9qu0UIrY/w-d-xo.html
Hi I have a problem with forever papers, basically with any kind of laser transfer paper for my oki 8432 pro wt The colors are fading like in three washes Do you have any advise ?
If you are using laser dark with the oki, you need to use the rip software to rasterize the prints for best results. If you are large solid prints with Forever laser dark, when you wash it you will see some fading due to the water and soap just sitting on top of the toner when washed. The small holes or lines left by the rasterization will help with that.
Hi i am using this printer and forever dark.. print ing on A sheet and marrying is fine but when i press at 300 F for 30 seconds with a insta heat press my design looks faded after pressing and finishing what can i do?
I am having issues with the b sheet leaving large patches of glue on the A sheet after pressing. Forever told me this was down to pressure being too high, but I reduced the pressure and it got worse. Any thoughts?
You totally took your own sock off and wiped down that jacked up transfer! DONT DENY IT! THAT WAS AWESOME! I'm gonna Like, Subscribe, Share, and Buy your product! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
You will want to increase the toner density on the printer and only print one sheet at a time. I would have jamming issues if I tried to print more than sheet at a time.
I don't print them at the same time. The first print is with CMYK toners in the printer. The second print I replaced the black cartridge with a Ghost white toner cartridges and ran the print through the printer a 2nd time to place the white layer on top of the CMYK print. This video will show you how I did it - th-cam.com/video/rPS9qu0UIrY/w-d-xo.html
how is this setup different from dtf (direct transfer film) printing? this setup uses adhesive on a paper for the image to stay on a shirt. dtf uses an adhesive powder for the image to stay on shirt.
@@uscuttervideos any update? I just want a faster process this seems to be a lot of work for little results. A big job would be a lot of steps doesnt seem practical or efficient.
That depends on what type of printer you are using. In my experience using the M452, M254, and LBP622 and LBP623 it will scratch if you don't have the back of the printer closed up correctly and one of the paper guides is scratching the release liner.
You can use a monochrome printer alongside white Forever Flex soft to create white transfers. If you are asking about putting a white toner cartridge into your monochrome printer, that will just depend on if they have made a cartridge to support your printer.
which paper would work if I want to have the tonor and then use foil to create the color? I tried a weedless foil paper and the tonor did not come off nicely on the sweatshirt
No, not every printer. You need CMYK and White toner for dark substrates or designs that have gradients or very light colors in them. If you use a Monochrome printer then all that you will have is just black designs.
You said this can be used with another Forever transfer product. Forever Flex I think? Could you share more about that and what the difference is between the two?
I use this same printer and in each pass printing there are lines peeled off the matte side which go into the ink. It’s like the rollers are doing this, any idea what I can do to stop this?
Thanks for the video! I have a question about the black lettering and borders. I am running the m281 printer, but I am getting cloudy edges on my prints with pure black, on certain reds and greens also. Any ideas on why? I changed to a lighter color and I haven't run across that issue. I'm a little jealous of the pure black prints lol
So it could be a few different things! 1. The Forever Laser dark adhesive adds a little bit of brightness to the color because of the adhesive it uses. This allows your designs to "pop" better, 2. For my CMYK toner, I only use Ghost CMYK cartridges, HP brand CMYK toner cartridges, and also Canon toner has no issues when pressed on a heat press. I've found that when I use low-cost toner replacements that they can change color when pressed so I only use those three brands when creating transfers.
USCutter Videos totally understandable with off brand, but I am using the original HP toner. I am going to print a color chart and see how it behaves. Thanks for the quick response.
Hey, I’ve been thinking about buying an inkjet or laser printer to try and get a custom t-shirt business started. Keep looking at different printers, and kind of get overwhelmed with all the information out there. I was told an inkjet printer won’t really do well with transfer paper + dark color t-shirts. Advised to look at laser printers, but when I googled white toner laser printers the price multiples by like 10x. How much did the laser printer in this video run?
If you do inkjet printing you can create designs for T shirts of all colors using the Heat transfer paper. You will just need to cut around the image by hand or using a vinyl cutter with contour cutting. It works because you are printing onto a white substrate that you will press onto the shirt, kind of like a patch. You just have to worry about issues like your ink washing out, or the transfer paper getting really wrinkled and cracked eventually. Using an inkjet printer with pigment inks will help with the color fading, and following wash instructions will help with the wrinkling.
But if you are wanting to do this as a new business and decide a white toner printer is the way to go, I strongly suggest starting with the icolor 560. The price is higher, but it doesn't limit you with a double pass method for CMYK and White images. I will have a video out on the 560 later this week and then the Canon printers and white toner cartridges are next.
In this week's video Josh shows you everything you need to know before buying Forever Laser Dark transfer paper. They are sold in pairs and can be purchased here - uscutter.com/Forever-Laser-Dark-Low-Temp/?source=youtube
It should. Check to see what media settings your machine offers. Transparency and Heavy glossy are the ones you are looking for. Also make sure you use a quality toner cartridge or that could cause some issues as well.
Can i ask you about a good printer a3 for the laser dark no cut and flex soft no cut because i have this probleme of printer i didn t find the good one
You could use the laser light papers with just CMYK toner if you like. If you plan on using the Forever Laser dark you would want to increase the density to max and stay away from lighter colors and light gradients.
It is not made for doing large full designs. If you do that it just feels the same as vinyl, so you would want to use a paper with a softer, expandable adhesive like the UniNet iColor Premium paper for those.
I also use it for wood and other hard surfaces myself. The adhesive can apply as low as 220°f so I've put it on paper, wood, and a few other hard surfaces.
Brother printers are pretty solid! Make sure you select a print media like glossy or heavy glossy to slow down the media inside the printer allowing it enough time for the toner to fuse to the paper. The OEM brother CMYK toner should also not change color when pressing. Just be wary of using any 3rd party toners because some of them will change color after being pressed.
USCutter Videos Do you think it‘s possible that the colors gonna change when I press them if they are from 3th party toners? But that’s the only issue that can maybe happen? Another question about something else; I have seen that there are some sellers on aliexpress selling White toner powder, imagine when I buy a empty clean black toner cartridge and I put there inside the white powder instead of black powder will it be after that the same as a white toner cartridge from White Ghost Toner? If it will could that work then with my printer; Brother HL-4570CDW?
@@VideosOf2023 Ghost, UniNet, and Oki toner have all been specially created with the transfer process in mind while other toners are not. Usually, the OEM manufacturers have a higher quality toner that won't change color from the process. I can't really speak on the other until I try it for myself but it sounds like a fun project!
the short answer is no. you will need a heat press as an iron will not provide the necessary constant pressure that you get from a heat press, also i don't think an iron gets hot enough either.
Thx for the vid👍🏾i have a Xerox laser printer, could i use any of these sheet to print and press on shirts with my printer.I knw you said Xerox dnt have enuff for toner.
There currently isn't anyone making any 3rd party toner cartridges for the M454 right now. HP has kept the chip pretty well protected and nobody has been able to crack it yet.
Depends on the image, but 30+ washes if its done correctly. If you don't make any effort and just put a giant chunk of toner on the front of a shirt, you can expect to see it peeling and cracking within a few washes.

For CMYK prints? Sure, but only with basic colors that lay down a lot of toner.
Is it even possible to print on those transparent sheets with a Brother HL-4570CDW ? I don’t need the white toner actually.
USCutter Videos Please try it and review it in a video it would be a exciting video!
Can you use an iron in placement of the heat press
the short answer is no. you will need a heat press as an iron will not provide the necessary constant pressure that you get from a heat press, also i don't think an iron gets hot enough either.
Dspin is coming at you with all the right answers!
Can I use this with a brother laser printer?
If that laser printer uses toner you can!
Thx for the vid👍🏾i have a Xerox laser printer, could i use any of these sheet to print and press on shirts with my printer.I knw you said Xerox dnt have enuff for toner.
It seems like you've already answered your question in the same sentence!
will this work with a hp 454dw ? can I use the ghost toner with it ?
There currently isn't anyone making any 3rd party toner cartridges for the M454 right now. HP has kept the chip pretty well protected and nobody has been able to crack it yet.
is there an 11x17 laser printer that has the white cartridge also?
Yes, but I would seriously just save up the money for a UniNet if you are going for larger sizes. I can't stress this enough!
USCutter Videos why so ? I never had issues
@@uscuttervideos I read that you said it is not good for big prints. What is the largest you suggest to use?
can we use flex-soft with this printer ?
Yes you can!
please can i use my normal printer to do this work
I am using a desktop printer in the video.
Did I see you wear forever laser dark on white t-shirts? it's possible?
Yes. It works on shirts of all color.
how long does this forever product last?
Depends on the image, but 30+ washes if its done correctly. If you don't make any effort and just put a giant chunk of toner on the front of a shirt, you can expect to see it peeling and cracking within a few washes.
Can you use with a sublimation printer?
No, this paper is only works with laser toner.
@@uscuttervideos Can any hp laserjet colored printer be used?
Because I have been trying to buy a printer and I keep hearing that m254 is no longer available and it has been replaced by newer models.
What hp printer is that ?
Hi, can I use Epson L1800 using this process
if it is a CMYK laser printer that uses toner then yes you can use it. I am not aware of any white toner cartridges for it
come posso avere info per acquisto ?
Hi I don't suppose anyone knows the settings for Kyocera laser printers
This is the first time I have ever heard of that brand.
So you need white toner?
For best results on dark clothing.
How long does the painting last?
If rasterize your design properly you can get 50+ washes with Forever Laser Dark.
Epson XP-6100 printing on same paper it’s just bleeding 😔
Forever Laser Dark is the name of the paper. It is a paper for laser printers, not inkjet printers.
Nice
