Okay this is important: I initially thought Taeil's high note was just a high note very nicely sustained BUT I just checked which note it actually was: A F*CKING E5. Your female fave could probably never either?!?! Like sustain and add vibrato like that?? But the MOST impressive part is the freaking phrasing before that in the C5-D5 range!!! That is unbelievable. KING OF TENORS
Just for reference, Haechans part before is already sung in falsetto because it's already the normal male vocalist - climax range, but Taeil just went up above, phrased and then fucking sustained

Fun fact: the intro is actually a "haka", for those who don't know what a haka is. Is basically a New Zealand tribal native Dane that they perform it to show respect. In New Zealand in the beginning of every rugby game they perform this to show respect for their opponent.
Anyways the song is fire and as a poly I was really nice seeing other cultures embracing other cultures, love it.
I heard this song when it was released and never again. Fast forward to this year as I got interested in haka when I saw that particular video. The beginning scratched an itch in my brain and then it clicked. I was like woah😮😮😂😂

This song is so ahead of its time. It’s the reason I got into nct (127) 4 years ago. And after all these years it still sounds as fresh and ahead of its time as ever. Simon Says is true timeless music. The music video too.. beautiful cinematography, outfits, choreo, and an aesthetic you’d find at high fashion shows. Don’t even get me started on the iconic lines, adlibs, and one of the greatest bridges ever built in a kpop song. I love you Simon Says, you’re everything I wanted from a kpop boy group’s title track. The whole package, must I say. A one-of-a-kind audiovisual experience I’ll always hold close to my heart.

No, the chorus is what ruins this song, this chorus is awful, they have vocals like Haechan and Taeil but never use them to their maximum, they keep focusing on Taeyong and Mark. They have vocals, but focus on their weakest part, Taeyong is an average at best rapper, really doesnt shine among the other million rappers in idols, Mark is good but cant shine on his own against top rappers like Mino, Ravi, Ilhoon, RM,Suga, Yongguk, Changbin, etc...
