Having bad personal experience with the artists is what made the list very unfair. Or they should put their personal problems aside and speak music

Not having Nkosazana Daughter is a cardinal sin here. There is a crazy amount of tunes coming from Master Kg (The Wanatwa Mos Camp). DBN Gogo impact is underrated,she can't be below Pabi. Musa Keys can't be above Momo, he dropped an insane compilation this year (probably bigger than any other piano artist this year).

I chuckled so much from the two episodes of amaPiano Wrapped. The back and forth and reactions. It was entertaining more than anything. Music is subjective. Opinions will differ.
I personally feel like these lists should be made by people who have gone through a 360 journey/experience on music, they must understand how the music is made fully and also the brand/business side of it fully. Many biases in these lists are based on perspective and some of these perspectives aren’t mature enough for this kind of conversation.

Great show, top 10s are usually subjective, so I honestly have no problem with the list, maybe next time, if we can get polls that can allow us chillers to vote maybe we can have a panels top 10 and a chillers top 10 for each category(ELO style)
Then also to iterate what others have already said a criteria amongst the panel would be great and consideration of streams overall as released by spotify/apple music should be considered

I just wanna say that if we track back from the beginning of Amapiano arguably 2011, to today Piano is only 11 years old. As compared to Kwaito which is like 30 years old and Afro Beats which is like 60+ years old and RnB, Hip-Hop/Rap being close to 70+ years.
That being said we still have along way to go and I would just like to say that the progress made since 2019 is incredible and as much as piano is being exported, I think if we are to speak influence to this day, Kabza de Small and DJ Maphorisa are still the most impactful artists to this day. Why?
Once again they have pushed and matured the sound, not only that they adopted well working international models of shows in Arenas that are done locally, they have kicked off tour and not only that they continue every year to introduce, nurture or catapult new acts, every single year. Not only that but this year more than ever we have seen South African artist adopt the blueprint Phorry used to solidify his name and the ones of his artists by making camps. Everyone from Mr Jazziq with Black is Brown, Musa Keys with his gang, Jaivane with Simnandi, MajorLeague with their camp, Master KG and many others. Literally everyone is following their business model which works for everyone else.
Also I just wanna add, and I stand to be corrected, when artists gig internationally honestly it does not mean anything to us. Maybe for them yes and business but in-terms of music it means nothing to us. I think a more suitable chat next year should be a focus on South African artist that collaborated with an international artist, maybe similar to how maybe Foca did a piano song with Davido, or Scorpion Kings with Masego, or even maybe Mdu Aka TRP being featured Soulection or OVO sound radio

I believe everyone on this list deserves to be there I would change the order though and do a joint number 10 for Cooper alongside Felo only because I feel Felo really pushed this year he had hits and pushed dance challenges same with cooper then 9)DBN cause of her influence she had ppl dancing like her with that whole shaking her head movement and she did gig internationally then 8)Stunna he really did a lot for the game this year.
