@@YohoTakeuchi I agree with you Yoho, Nokie's early Venture's sound was usually clean on the records but when playing live he would overdrive a bit. I think you're doing outstanding work with these tunes. In the 1980's Semi Mosely set up shop in North Carolina and he was supplying Mosrite guitars to a music store 30 miles from where I live. The first one I bought was a 'Nokie' model and I found out that if you raised the guitar volume past 3 it would distort..the pickups must have been overwound on that model. Later I traded that guitar for the Ventures model I have now..the sound is much cleaner. I wish now I would have kept both of them!
Oh! That's an interesting story, Rick Since the Ventures boom in the 1960s, Japanese people have loved the Mosrite guitar, and many bandmates had this guitar. However, each Mosrite had a slightly different character and sound, and some wealthy people owned more than one. I only have the reissue "V-65 Reissue", but if I have the chance, I would like to play the vintage model as well.
