Have always srocked pilled. It saved our family when my hubby was layed off .we ate of it for a year family of three adults . Spent 40.00 a month milk bread fresh vegs house hold supplies
As a single mom I had always stocked up during sales. It also saved our family when I was out of work for 3 months. It never hurts to have extra food on hand.
Winner of a video, I have been researching "food supplies in case of emergency" for a while now, and I think this has helped. You ever tried - Proutklarton Surviving Technics Plan - (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now ) ? Ive heard some awesome things about it and my cousin got great results with it.
I stock pile even though its just me in the house. For household items I just keep 1 extra of each item so when I use up something I already have a replacement and thats when I start shopping for sales to buy another one. For food I only buy about 2 months worth if I don’t use it often and 6 months if it’s something I use all the time. Like when canned tomatoes go on sale once a year for $.25-$.33 a piece I’ll buy 30-40 cans because I use them in everything.
I use Mason jars to store SOOOO many things, especially in the fridge! It's a game changer for storing delicate perishables, like mushrooms, strawberries and grapes. I've had them last for WEEKS in the fridge and not go bad.
Even though I am single, I stock up when products I use on a regularly are on sale My best stick up was cereal at the $ store name brand , and not a small size would have been at least $3.49 at grocery store I paid $ and purchased 10 boxes. A few weeks later I checked and was told they no longer had that size but instead carried one half the size of what I had purchased.
Love the preps! Just one more thought, make sure ALL chemicals are either on the bottom shelf, or better yet, have an area for only chemicals. Definitely below any items you would eat off of.
I feel less alone... I am not the only crazy stockpiling person. I have been buying cheapo small appliances for my kids for when they move out. Also, good to help out a friend who might need it.
I had done this in the past, but have used them up over time. I have been working out of country since about 2007, so I have nothing now! AND I haven't started working since getting back to the US of A! so right now living off my savings...
Yes we stock up too.We live in Australia and buy multiple buys on good supermarket sales or clearances.I mainly stock tins and jars of veges and frozen food.I have a big store of laundry items and shampoo, bodywash and personal care items.Because we live in Queensland,it gets very hot so we have to choose items that dont spoil during summer. Our days can get to 40 degrees celcius, and things like nuts and grains can get spoilt or bug infested.Grooming items have a long shelf life as does laundry soap etc so I have a very good stockpile of these. Thanks for sharing your stockpile it was very interesting.take care,Foxy.
you should really make your own laundry soap - super, super cheap that way. The ingredients are very minimal, and very easy to make. I made a 5-gallon drum and it lasted a long time - years (for me - don't have kids anymore) and the cost was maybe $5 - probably less, since I didn't use up all the ingredients - saved them for another batch later. And the ingredients are much better than the stuff they put in the commercial brands. look for homemade laundry detergent on internet - many different places to find the recipe. Also homemade products for daily use - toothpaste, deodorant, face/hand creams, etc. If you choose the good ingredients - coconut oil, essential oils, etc. you will have products that are MUCH healthier for you too.
Love it. FYI if Smiths has the same sales as Kroger, there are 5x digitals fri thru sat for post cereal at .99 each and there are ibotta rebates anywhere from .15 to .75 for post cereals. Also .99 bar cheese, cheese slices, and 2 cups shredded cheese. And our free friday download is a loaf of bread🤩
My teenagers only really like the fruit pouches. You should take off the Rings after you canned the food because I've been told that with the rings off if there ever is botulism it will pop the lit up but with the rings on it forces a fake seal. Not so much of an issue with Jam's Etc but definitely was tomato sauce etc.
that's nice that you can do that. I have TRIED for many years. our land here in the city is JUST not productive; did raised beds with new soil - that was good for a very short time. I compost, mulch, etc. just not very fruitful. The only times it had a good yield, we had deer, raccoon, rabbits, skunks, foxes, etc. everything out there fighting over the stuff. I tried SO many different products to keep the critters away with no luck. I finally just let them have it!
Thanks for sharing your storage area. It's a great way to save when you find good deals. I'm looking for a good local freezer deal like you found. Wow, $40.00 for the chest freezer. What a great buy! Till next time...
I like to see you have everything you will need in a shtf. If possible you should consider taking the noodles and anything that can absorb moisture out of that room; With the water heater and freezer you may run into mold that is not visible to the naked eye and get sick. Believe me, I have learned that the hard way.

How long will your hike be? I have a question on the expiration dates. I noticed the Hungry Jack was "best if used by July 2016." What is your take on expiration dates? How long do these things stay tasty? Love your videos as always!
Our hike will be a total of 8 miles with some steep parts. We are hiking to a mountain lake. Expiration dates for me depend on the type of food it is. Spice packets like the hungry jack are fine past the date. It's just garlic and pepper and salt. Pasta is fine. Milk? Much less fine.
My pasta I have never had a problem with in Idaho. I did have issues in Texas but not here. We have different critters here and it's so cold in the winter that everything goes away probably 6-7 months of the year.
Love your stockpile and how you shop - Gal after my own heart. Sales, digitals, etc. are a girls best friend. I don't have as much room as you (no basement) but I stock as much as I can. Like I tell my husband - paper goods don't go bad and toothpaste, pasta, soup, etc. is good for a year or so. The garage is "guy land" so I can't store anything out there LOL.
@@FrugalFitMom How long do you usually store it for? And do you reuse the bottle again after cycling through them? I read different things tell you how to store your water, now I'm not sure if juice containers and soda containers are safe options.
There is a very fine line between stocking up & hoarding..food pantries would probably love to take things that are way out of date, before they are tasteless &/or buggy.
@MB Y'all are being mighty judgmental; Christine cooks for her church, too, at least once a month cooking a huge amount of food to feed those in need. You really need to watch and listen to more than just one video before you make your holier-than-thou statements.
I do not stockpile like that but it looks interesting. Most of my stockpile is home canned food. No wheat or sugar here. :( We use natural peanut butter but if my five sons would have at one of your cans of pb it wouldn't last no month. One day.... maybe! Lol
I don't really have room for a stock pile. I live in a townhouse with no garage but I do have a walk in pantry. I might get another fridge for outside.
Use the floors of your pantry. The space under bed..if you have it. Don't forget any additional room in clothing closet. You may have more room than you think.
My parents froze bread all my life.....after it thaws you can't tell the difference......as a kid really wanting a sandwich , I ate a few that were half frozen.....that is a little adventurous......
I am a stickler for rotating. If I find something in my downstairs storage that is getting close to expiration date I bring it upstairs so I will see it and use it.
My husband doesn't like it either, but he'll sure eat the food though.😆 We've been there, where we didn't know how we were going to feed the kids, and that's not a good feeling.😔
@@yahwehisontheway5094 ... stocking up on items will save you money. I don't have to pay full price for much because I have enough that I got on sale and with coupons. Sales come in cycles and if you stock up you will be able to get a lot of items at the sale price
You are so amazing.. I watch your videos everyday as well as a couple other but but anyways you and your kids are so cute.... Can I please have a shout-out it will be the first ever shout-out I've had

Please do a new stockpile , pantry tour , this video is a year ago
Insulate your freezer and water heaters....I bet you would cut 20 dollars a month off your electric bill.
did you store emergency water in empty juice container (next to chaffing dish)?
I did, they are since gone!
@@FrugalFitMom How long do you usually store it for? And do you reuse the bottle again after cycling through them? I read different things tell you how to store your water, now I'm not sure if juice containers and soda containers are safe options.
Is there an update of this?
Why donate to the homeless shelters or soup kitchens
dooms day prep... enough food for 2 years
:))
One day.... maybe! Lol
I mean we go through one jar a week, so 4 a month. With 12 jars, that's 3 month's worth. Clear as mud? :)
Frugal Fit Mom oh yes, I heard that. But mine would consume one daily. Lol So it would be 12 days worth.
Frugal Fit Mom I see I wrote month instead of week. ...
Oh, HAHAHA!!! Mine probably would too if I let them. Those dang boys. ;)
Does any of the food expire before you can use them?
Usually not, I donate some of it, and we rotate through it pretty well.
I am jealous of your stockpile!!! i hope i get there someday haha.
Impressive stockpile!!
Hey did you know that your pantry is on a video from drop forged survival
Yes, I contacted him but I guess he didn't care?
I don't really have room for a stock pile. I live in a townhouse with no garage but I do have a walk in pantry. I might get another fridge for outside.
Use the floors of your pantry. The space under bed..if you have it. Don't forget any additional room in clothing closet. You may have more room than you think.
what discount stores do you shop at?
You are awesome
How does bread look after it unfreezes??? Soggy?? Lol.
looks totally normal!
My parents froze bread all my life.....after it thaws you can't tell the difference......as a kid really wanting a sandwich , I ate a few that were half frozen.....that is a little adventurous......
bm phil 😂
I would be afraid of not using everything. I am pretty bad at that.
Try with non food items first and maybe your staple food that could last a long time, eg pasta, rice, beans. xx
I am a stickler for rotating. If I find something in my downstairs storage that is getting close to expiration date I bring it upstairs so I will see it and use it.
I want to build a stock pile so bad!
My husband is against it 😭
Hopefully he will come to his senses soon. ;)
My husband doesn't like it either, but he'll sure eat the food though.😆 We've been there, where we didn't know how we were going to feed the kids, and that's not a good feeling.😔
I pray that he comes around, especially with so many things happening.
@@yahwehisontheway5094 ... stocking up on items will save you money. I don't have to pay full price for much because I have enough that I got on sale and with coupons. Sales come in cycles and if you stock up you will be able to get a lot of items at the sale price
Mentioning saving money to hubby might make him more inclined to stock up
Looks great!!
2020..in these times..I think be careful what you show...when the SHTF ...some not so nice people may want to "borrow " stuff...
With all those bags of food not enclosed in bins or buckets how are rodents and other bugs kept out of them? This is beyond madness.
I don't have bugs or rodents in my house. It's that simple.
"Beyond madness"???????? What a strange person you are....
Hahahahaha. I guess you got your answer lol. No bugs or rodents in my house either!
A lot of stuff not secure close to the ground. Hope you have cats.
Brilliant!
You are so amazing.. I watch your videos everyday as well as a couple other but but anyways you and your kids are so cute.... Can I please have a shout-out it will be the first ever shout-out I've had
Where do get pb for 99 cants
Several of my local stores drop their prices about once a year to that price. I stock up. :)
In UK, peanut butter in my local shop is 29p a jar. That's probably about 25c in america? Food is really cheap in UK.
Loaf of bread 36p - 30c
Bottle of cheap cola 17p 13c
Orange juice 1 litre 55p 45c
Frozen pizza 70p
6 pints milk £1.40
12 sausages £1
All american food looks expensive!
2 dollar halo top coupon
I always stockpile
this made my night
I'm surprised you don't have mice
She does not have enough can foods
Would you share that food?
Of course
Great stock pile
Where do you get the bulk dry beans/peas?
Bet ur ok. #coronavirus
Cheers for this, I have been researching "survival recipe" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you heard people talk about - Banevi Uncomplex Booster - (just google it )?
It is a good one of a kind product for discovering how to make the ultimate survival food minus the headache. Ive heard some decent things about it and my colleague got cool success with it.
tried to seach on what you said - came up empty, nothing close to it. Is it spelled right?
No concern for rodents and other undesirable critters? Noticed you have a lot of food packed in plastic, paper cartons on lower, lower shelves.
In the 5 years I've lived in my house I haven't had issues one time. So, not really.

Sad to see soo much processed food...
I think often were often trying to justify "food hoarding". Most of us also shop weekly. Many of the food that you have is unhealthy processed food.
@ce collie As a Natural Health Practitioner, some of the food is not worth consuming or wasting your money on...
Very disappointing. I thought there would be more b
