I'm an INTJ. There's nothing nefarious about my plans, but I do tend to leave people out of the loop. Most people have the kneejerk response of offering up critiques and insecurities when exposed to new ideas. Some may even try to throw a wrench in the plan before it can get off the ground if I don't play my cards close to my vest in the beginning. Once the plan starts to unfold and becomes unstoppable, then I'm more inclined to say something about it. When people can see a plan in action and that it's working, then they're more likely to provide useful input. Instead of bouncing ideas off of people, I bounce results off of them. That's when they're primed to help me come up with improvements. I value the input of other people, but I just have to wait for the time to be right.
That's a really interesting way of handling things! I totally get what you mean about keeping your cards close to your chest at first, especially to avoid premature criticism or distractions. It’s definitely a very INTJ strategy: letting the results speak for themselves before involving others. I also like how you use results to get more focused input. Have you ever felt that this approach helped you get feedback or suggestions that you wouldn’t have received otherwise?
@@MindfulMix3.0 Yes, this approach definitely helps me get valuable feedback, especially since I'm more of a big picture person and other people can help me hammer out the details. They just need to see that it can work, that they're not wasting their time on a pipe dream, then that's when they'll take on a positive attitude towards what I'm doing and start providing feedback. Occasionally, they'll come up with a real gem of an idea that I hadn't thought of and never would have thought of because I'm too close to my projects and too distant from people. Getting other perspectives from those who see things differently really helps. I suppose that's why we have different personality types. We need each other whether we like to admit it or not.
Socionics Model G shows INTP (LII) develops by looking more like an mbti-INFJ (IEI). Whereas INTJ (ILI) progresses by looking more like their mbti-ISTJ (LSI Inspector) Benefactor. Note: A correctly typed ISTJ is a correctly typed LSI 100% of the time. Contrary to popular belief there is no J and P switch for introverted sensors. This rule ONLY applies to the introverted intuitves. Only Socionics correctly shows ALL SJs lead with a correctly defined judging function. ALL SPs lead with a correctly defined sensing perceiving function. And this is because of the mbti introverted sensing cognitive stack error.
Wow, thanks for sharing that insight about Socionics! It’s fascinating how the model can shift the way we see type development, especially with the progression of INTPs looking more like MBTI-INFJs and INTJs moving toward ISTJ traits. 🤔 I’ve come across the debate on the J/P switch before, but it’s always interesting to hear perspectives on why it only applies to introverted intuitives. The cognitive stack error in MBTI is definitely something to consider! It’s cool to see how Socionics clarifies those distinctions. Do you think this affects how we perceive hidden traits in types like INTP and INTJ?
In MBTI, the J/P are supposed to be read paired with E/I. EJ/IP types are Judicious (lowercase j/+) because they judge the external world (EJ) and perceive their internal world (IP) These are the centralists/rational. EJP/IJ types are Precarious (lowercase p/-) because they perceive their External world (EP) and judge the Internal world (IJ) These are the extremists/irrational. . The MBTI letter dichotomies are meant to be used as a perceptional system, not the skeleton. N=Potential S=Liminal F=Harmony (not to be confused with irrational) T=Rationale (not to be confused with rational without the "e") E=Extrospective I=Introspective J=Brashness P=Wariness . But while we're on the subject: according to CGJ himself, Ne/SI = lowercase n (Real Intuiting) Se/NI = lowercase s (Real Sensing) Ti/Fe = lowercase t (Real Thinking) Fi/Te = lowercase f (Real Feeling) e=External i=Internal p=Perceiving dom (Precarious) j=Judging dom (Judicious) NF/ST(C) = Ethics, Sympathy, & conservation (Blue Pill community) NT/SF(L) = Morals, Empathy, & liberty (Red Pill community) But MBTI isn't the only one. Even socionics uses inaccurate terms. Which is why it has to rely on information elements to compensate.
I love the background music. But it's been my experience INTJ's only plan is to simply lo look for nails to hammer rather than considering consequences. They just want to see what happens as soon as possible and get quick results, so their plans are always fast and simple. Which is why the ENTJ actually ends up being much more calculating, and also much more paced like the INTP. But even ENTPs can be considered more calculating than INTJs as well. The strength of INTJs is that they got a lot of energy to hammer more nails, and compensate for the terribly hammered spots with arias that actually end up being stable. But they really aren't as secretive as this video makes them seem. They're really prideful and always work to have something to brag about any chance they get. Though I definitely wouldn't say they they're insecure either. They're just really self absorbed. Not sure that would qualify as being secretive though. If anything, ENTJs and ENTPs are the real mask wearers.
Encountering an INTP can be like trying to catch a rare creature in its natural habitat, mysterious, elusive, but fascinating once you get a closer look! 🧐 As for hiding, you might have hit an important point with the idea of insecurity. Are those who hide more actually protecting something deeper? Thoughts? 😊
Congrats! Behold your INTP. As odd as it might seem, INTPs are a lot more insecure, but they don't actually hide their insecurities, because they use it as a conversation starter. And their primary goal is psychological evolution. Which includes being competitive and understanding. Sometimes to the point people assume they're people pleasers rather than simply being themselves. Our goals are simply personal psychological development as quickly and effectively as possible by any means, upholding true justice, and creating a fair and moral environment. Not to be confused with Ethics. We are also focused on Kindness rather than Niceties. And prefer honest criticism rather than useless validation. However, because comedy is an art and we are always wanting to make people laugh just for the fun of it, what most people will inevitably see is a false comedy character rather than simply trying to make ourselves look good. So for that reason i believe INTPs would technically be the mask wearers. Some people actually believe we are either being serious or are somehow drained by doing what we love, as if it's trying to be something for someone else. But the reality is we are simply what we need to be because we ourselves want to be what we are, simply for ourselves. And as empaths, making people laugh and satisfied in turn makes us have fun and be satisfied. We focus on understanding other people's emotional perspectives to the point we ourselves feel everything everyone else does. Meaning all we have to do to be happy is simply make people laugh. I know INTJs don't fake anything though. It's why I believe we are much better at telling jokes. However, some people can't always tell if we're serious or not, so it can get pretty awkward trying to explain things like that. But INTJs don't even bother to think before saying anything, so they often end up saying things they don't actually mean. Which is why they end up simply reframing from talking in general.
The ability to make others laugh is what I love most in people. Your description of your personality, I believe, has cleared up some doubts I had. I was particularly struck by how you manage to turn your insecurity into an opportunity to connect with others. Thank you, Barry, for sharing.
I’ve already made some other videos on INTJs, have you seen them all? Here’s the playlist: th-cam.com/play/PLRTZO3lyp1LdOJGoxPk-ys7HoqhMyozp3.html Let me know what you think!
The thing is INTP is distracted, so, they don't know what to tell who, but INTJs like myself, like to plan everything through, and I tell who I want to tell, when I want to tell the person, and I deliberately put the person into suspense.
That's an interesting take! INTPs definitely have that ever-evolving mindset, always analyzing and tweaking their perspectives. It can be tricky to figure out what they're thinking or where they’re headed next. Maybe that’s part of the fun, though! Thoughts?
Ah yes, INTPs can get a bit distracted, lost in their thoughts. INTJs, on the other hand, always have that well-thought-out plan, with every move strategically considered. Keeping people in suspense definitely sounds like a mastermind move! 😄 I love this difference between the two types. Do you think keeping the suspense gives you more control in interactions?
Ah, classic INTJ control! 😎 It’s like being the director of a secret movie, where you decide when and how much of the plot to reveal. Do you find that this approach keeps people more intrigued or even on their toes, always guessing what comes next?
