i was a little bit confused cause i assume this is not putty wash technique that was the one step impression technique , please correct me if i'm wrong . anyway great explanation and what a fine impression u got there!
Is Alginate ultimately better for doing a impression you are going to be using say 2 hours later to make a denture or metal denture? Not looking for a trophy just a accurate mould.
Yes, but in the 2-step technique. There is a modification in the technique that consists in the removal of part of the heavy material for better settlement of the light silocone. revodonto.bvsalud.org/scielo.php?pid=S0004-52762016000400003&script=sci_arttext
heavy body is not as dense or as filled as putty, heavy body is mixed like a thick paste in an automix gun or by a spatula. putty on the other hand is always mixed by kneading the base and catalyst, if you use a custom tray, then we don't putty, instead we use heavy or regular body with light body. thanks for your questions, hope this helped
+Travis Haddad for the opposing, an accurate alginate impression is usually sufficient, and bite registration only if I predict the articulation will need it or if I'm changing the occlusion it if there are several teeth which need to be replaced.
Why did you remove the retraction cord? I thought its necessary to use the retraction cord while making an impression. Thank you. :) im so confused right now.
The retraction cords function is to "push" the gingival sulcus away from the tooth. If it were a 2 step technique, the cord would be in place for the putty, and would be removed just before the wash would be applied,so the wash would fill the space "oppened" by the cord.So in this One step technique because both the putty and the wash are applied at the same time, the cord is romoved just before the wash is apploed for the same reason.Hope this helped .
+rhBOSS I completely agree, as I mentioned this is the disadvantage of this technique, the 2 stage technique with spacer avoids the issue of inadequate wash material. Thanks for commenting!
There's not only the issue of putty pushing wash off the teeth. I was talking about the fact that you should also put wash on all the occlusal surfaces as well as the palatal of upper and labial of lower incisors to be able to precisely articulate models later. Some wash in the area of free gingival margin is also greatly appreciated by ceramists as it helps with capturing pink esthetics. I do agree however that this method is quite technique sensitive. There also seems to be a hit and miss factor as far as impression materials go. Some materials gave me flow failures all the time despite the fact that I inserted the putty slowly and was operating well within the working time window.
Im not following you... In the video i have applied wash all over the tooth including occlusal and the Free Gingiva... the main issue i would argue is the run off with the single step.
Why attend workshops and seminars when we can learn from such awesome contents for free. Thank you👌
Excellent sir! You made putty wash too easy for me.
Do the two stage putty wash plzz

Awesome video.... All my concepts are clear! Please sir keep on making these videos.. Very useful and very helpful...
Excellent explanation ❤

anyway great explanation and what a fine impression u got there!
Your remarque it's true , this is not wash technique.
This is called the putty wash single step technique, as both the putty and wash material set together in the mouth.
Excellent video Sir, many thanks
Keep up the great work
Thanks alot sir for your efforts to make things easy for us...

Very well explained.
good video!
So, is there a predictable way to prevent the putty from pushing the light silicone of the margins?
Yes, but in the 2-step technique. There is a modification in the technique that consists in the removal of part of the heavy material for better settlement of the light silocone.

+Manav Kalra How about the opposing? Do you take a separate impression and a bite registration?
+Travis Haddad for the opposing, an accurate alginate impression is usually sufficient, and bite registration only if I predict the articulation will need it or if I'm changing the occlusion it if there are several teeth which need to be replaced.
@@manavkalra why dont we use putty with custom tray? why only heavy body? Thanks
there is no link in the description

Brilliant
Tip: Watch it at 1.5x speed.
Thanks bhai
Cool

Not enough wash.

see at 2:50
You should apply wash on all the teeth not only the prepared one.
