I would like one of these geniuses in the Kohler videos to come to my house and explain how that grey thermostatic knob is supposed to fit through a hole that isn't big enough for it to pass through.. I'll be waiting for an answer
I would like to slap the face of the inventor of this crazy valve. These valve should be install for NASA BATHROOM in the international space station, not on a bathroom on earth.
I’ve never installed plumbing but was sick of waiting for my husband to install this valve after he ran the lines. I had only one problem and that trying to figure out how to get the finishing plates back off so I could trim down one plastic piece for a button that was sticking. aWritten instructions leave a lot to be desired though.
As a plumber let me explain the problem with a faucet like this. 1st of all during installation somehow what Kohler does with 20 parts Moen can do with 5 meaning when something needs to be replaced it's a lot easier and quicker with a product by Moen and less of an inconvenience for the owner. 2nd When something breaks and it will it's the time it will take to get the part and the plumber to come and replace it for you if you don't know how to do-it-yourself. The shower head for this alone is very specific. The arm coming out of the wall at attaches to the shower head is not a standard arm. What I mean by this is if you don't maintain your shower head and it no longer sprays properly you can't just replace it with any shower had like every other product.
As someone that sells both brands, this valve is very easy to service. Everything is accessible from the face of the unit, so a cartridge replacement is a piece of cake. Additionally I'm not sure what you're talking about in regards to the showerheads.
@@Gulli_Foyle_Beats I thought I was pretty specific in my post I didn't say anything about a cartridge repair. I just dealt with a customer who had to wait 3 weeks for a new shower head because he couldn't put any ordinary shower head on in the meantime he had to wait for that 1 part.
Really can't say I understand what you mean by a specific shower head for any certain thermostatic valve.. Are you sure you know anything about plumbing? Doesn't sound like it..
@@enzofiero2924 Standard shower head sizes are half inch. So for the average consumer you could run out to The Home Depot or any hardware store and just buy any shower head and chances are it is a female half inch inlet. This kohler shower head is not. So again if the average homeowner who has a problem with their showerhead and what it fixed quickly.... You know what I make a lot of money as a licensed plumber who runs his own business. Everyday I get new customers calling from referrals from previous customers. Explaining this any further especially to a dimwit like yourself is a complete waste of my time. Buy it have a great life enjoy.
