No “recall” per se, but I have heard from a viewer that he was offered a refund for a return if he wanted to, when he reported the issue.
Update on my 2x WS-1700s. Casio offered me a 25% discount on the next purchase only valid on certain watches but I bought a new Rangeman for $380 instead of $500.
Awesome! 🙌 That’s a very nice solution for you, especially when utilised on a watch in that price range! Nice savings - hope you enjoy the Rangeman! 👌 Thanks for the update Mr RBB 🙏
Great question, Nahil! 👌 I haven't operated a WS-1500H before (I think I might have one in my backlog to review some day 😁), but they are quite similar! It looks like the WS-1500 has a Fish Graph, which I am still VERY curious to learn how it works! But does it have a tide graph, like the WS-1700H? There could be a number of other differences we aren't aware of too, such as the alarms. But I won't know for sure until I unbox this watch 😉 Hope this helps! 🙏
Update for anyone who cares. I pulled the trigger months ago, it's a great watch, even with the dual time bug (collector's edition!). My only gripes are that the buzzer could be louder (like my $12 SKMEI) and that you can't set a timer for less than a minute (again, SKMEI nails it here!). Oh and the "analog" dial is useless - the hands are too thin to see at a glance. ALSO: the moon graph display is reversed here in the southern hemisphere which is disappointing 😢
Awesome!! 🙌 Thanks for the info! I agree with your assessment 😄 Yeah I wish there was an option to reverse the moon graph, I hear this has been an option in previous Casio's 👀
Thanks Travis. 🙏 I reckon the button placement IS something you could get used to given enough time, however, if you’re someone who is constantly rotating through watches each day, it’s never going to stick. Better to be consistent with the placement in my opinion! 😁👌
Nice work on the lug mod! Very cool. I’m currently rocking a WS1100 in grey on a 18mm black and grey single piece nylon strap, so I was delighted to see I wasn’t alone in this trend 😅
Not sure if it's been commented, or if I've already commented here at all- but a great review for a great watch! A couple things- my theory on the strap and catch is that it's ridged so it's not easy to slip around when wet against your skin, and has the slight split to make it easier to adjust when your fingers are actually wet. Also, the swap for the 1700 to the 1200 IS possible! Just finished it tonight. If you file and clip the upper and lower edge of the face plate for the 1700, it sits further down on the "glass", and the module will seat down like it was made for it. Keep up the great work!
Hi Conan! I remember you - you have commented here before a couple of months back 😁👌 This is a good theory, that would make sense. Awesome!! 🙌 I was waiting to hear the exact points that needed to be trimmed, and you have been the first to advise me! Thanks so much for weighing in! 🙏
SKXMOD has a recent video where he drops a WS-1700H module in one of his royale cases. I’m kind of surprised it wasn’t a straight swap between the factory cases, but I also can’t remember if he made modifications to make it fit.
2:00 The databank calculator (DBC-32D) watches share this feature. And the dedicated databank (DB-36) watch uses a 7-segment display for the letter. That said, 24 HOUR NOTATION SUPERIORITY! Which avoids the 12th hour ambiguity. For which the B640W shows a 24H indicator. The entire watch feels like it's made by a new generation, judging by the overabundance of features, duel time bug and bulkier design. There's a great anecdote on a similar situation with early TI logic chips. It'll be interesting to see if this trend continues in Casio's designs down the line.
Brilliant! I’m glad this is becoming a thing. (This was the first time I’d seen it) 👌 Hahaha, 24 hour mode would resolve this ambiguity - and I do plan on trialing it for a while in the future to see how I like it 😉 I’d does indeed. I look forward to seeing the direction Casio takes, and also how they handle the bug. Thanks for weighing in, RedWyvern! 🙏
Me neither! In face I’ve used these very same adapters before without issue. Maybe they drilled the holes too wide with this set, or provided the wrong spring bars. Fat bars, eh? I’ll look into them! Thanks for the suggestion 🙏

I appreciate it, David! 🙏 I don’t recall seeing any metal insert on the inside of the case. I have been advised by a viewer comment that the reason it doesn’t fit is because of the faceplate, which can indeed be sanded down to allow it to fit 👌

Yes it is incompatible with the original casio AE 1200 swap. But if you bought yourself a cheap clone of a AE 1200 like a KO china brand synoke the modular will fit in perfectly. I just tried it recently. But you have to use an original casio AE 1200 backplate coz the synoke one has a bit of bulging backplate. The button is a bit loose but workable. Can't afford at the moment with skxmods, but there is a cheaper alternative if you wish to try..happy modding folks! 😊

That is what I believe to be the case. 👌 I couldn’t get either faceplate to go down all the way - which to me suggests each may have a small piece that can be sanded to make it fit! Ah, you must be talking about my “watch toolbox” 😁 Very simple, it was a just a “craft storage box” I picked up at Kmart: www.kmart.com.au/product/craft-storage-caddy-clear-42895589/ If there’s none available nearby, you could use another type of ‘Fishing Tackle Box’ for the same purpose 👌
Haha, yeah it can be difficult to move! 😁 It often gets stuck on the strap because of those little notches under it. Other than this, what are your thoughts on the watch? 🤔
@@goatreviews I actually kinda like it but I think I'd have to change the band to something more comfortable or replace the keeper. It's a bit chunky on my wrist but I pretend it's a miniaturaized Pip Boy.
@@RokkitGrrl Fair call 👌 It might be worth considering the NATO Strap mod shown to get rid of the keeper issue. Hahaha, that's an awesome way of looking at it! 😁
@@arthurdeleniq Haha, I know right? 😝 if I had to guess- I’d say it’s cause they have a few variations of the fishing graph models for a while, and time to try something new.
Hi Gokul, what did you think of the wrist-check on my 6.5 inch wrist at about 8:43 ? If you're happy with that size, it won't be too much larger than that on your 6 inch wrist. 😁
Damn 😱 I watched thia video 4 moths before and I forgot that you tried to swap this two watches and I commented you to swap them 😅 Now after seeing this same thumbnail multiple times finally I read is that your are saying that it will not fir 😅 My bad bro thanks for this video😊
DUAL time is an ISSUE. You pay hard earned money. They should sell you a watch whose functions all work. Supposedly Casio has stopped production. I ordered one from eBay, but the one I ordered from Amazon is on back order. Very pleased to know that they are dealing with this issue, unlike Seiko with their issues. The nick name is actually “The Casio Moon Phase”.
I understand your perspective. 💯 It's an issue that shouldn't have made it out of the factory, and one which should be fixed retroactively for those who got one. I do wonder if they will offer to recall old units, or replace them? I do feel fortunate to consider myself unfazed by this issue, but I can imagine how important of a feature it is for others. Interesting - I was not aware of this! Thanks so much for weighing in, Art! 🙏
@@goatreviews I myself (had to have it.) which is why I ordered from eBay. Like yourself Dual Time wasn’t a deal breaker for me. I figured I can just assume if it’s an, or pm. Unless you live in Alaska I didn’t see much of a problem. Fixing retroactively would be GREAT, as well as a recall. Seiko has an issue with the snj025 (Arnie) that was produced in the 2023 assembly period. It will reset if it’s in direct sunlight for 30-45 minutes. They still have not issued a solution of any sort. Great video. I was pretty impressed how you came up with solutions for the adapter, and pushers. I’ve been in those SAME shoes more than once.
As for the dual time if you can't do the math or look outside that it's not a.m. or p.m. well then something's wrong. I really couldn't care less whether or not it shows an A or a p as well
LOL - This is a good point! 😂 I agree that it's not a huge deal 👌 I will say though - If the secondary time zone you're tracking with Dual Time is not one you're familiar with such as another country, it will be an extra step of memory to know whether they should be in AM or PM 😅
@@brandonar868 touché. But if you're going to be spending months on end in a place like that why not just change your time rather than dual time. It's such a petty little thing to hate about this watch with how many other options are fantastic on this thing
@tjmars37 you're not thinking of this from a travelers perspective. The purpose of dual time is more so used to track a 2nd timezone away from you, Not the one are currently in. So for example you may need to know the time back home away from family. Simple Math can go easily wrong with Jet Lag.
Hahaha - Point taken 😂 I guess I’m not feeling the connection of the name to this particular design 🤷🏻♂️ Certainly snappier to say out loud than “WS-1700H” though 😁👌
It’s in very unusual to see from Casio. 👍 I’m still waiting to see how they address this issue 🤔 Glad you like the orange strap! I just changed back to that one 😁🍊👌
@@goatreviews mmh that sounds maybe too unsafe for water proofness. I think that the only culprits are a couple of plastic pins that make the other module incompatible mechanically, both modules looks identically thick. I can’t say for sure which ones, not owning any of those, but you should focus on the spots that seem to block the module from going deeper
Cheers @@gabbodj95 👌 Since the faceplates are internal, I don’t suspect they may impact waterproofing but you’re right, I wouldn’t want to compromise that. Great idea! 💡 The mismatch may be with the size of the module itself… perhaps I can trim this down as well, as you said by focusing on the parts that may be blocking. Thanks for the tips! 🙏
Yeah, I tend to agree. 👌 In most of my reviews I find at least a couple of minor inconveniences that I’d like to see addressed by Casio, such as the way buttons scroll, etc. But this one was an actual BUG! 🤯
Thankfully I’m in the same boat, QuestingKnightIV. This ‘bug’ isn’t a big deal to me, so I’m happy with the watch. But I can see it being a dealbreaker for some!

10:42 I, too, have known and felt the disappointment associated with that sigh.
If only it were as easy as one would expect, Durango! 🥲
Oh well, at least it will be all the more satisfying to complete this mod sometime 😁
@goatreviews absolutely! The biggest disappointments bring the biggest joys in life, I have found. Please, when you do complete this module swap..... post it on the Casio subreddit❤️ I figured you probably will anyhow. You definitely have a subscriber for life. And soon to be supporter.. Keep up the great work I wish I was doing! Godspeed
@@DurangoBango Love the mindset! ✌️
Of course, you got it my man! 👌 Will do.
Thanks so much for your loyal viewership! 🙏❤️
Does 24 Hour mode in dual time work normally? Or is it just the 12 Hour mode in Dual time that has this issue?
Negative. Both modes are not working, unfortunately! That would have been a nice workaround though 😁
Where'd you get that box that folds open? Pretty smart
Ah, you must be talking about my “watch toolbox” 😁
Very simple, it was a just a “craft storage box” I picked up at Kmart:
www.kmart.com.au/product/craft-storage-caddy-clear-42895589/
If there’s none available nearby, you could use another type of ‘Fishing Tackle Box’ for the same purpose 👌
I really hate that band keeper. If I'm not careful when I'm adjusting it after putting it on, it sometimes pinches my skin.
Black watch MUST have black buckle
It is always nice when the buckle matches, you're right 🤩💯 Thanks for weighing in, Xpus! 🙏
LF 20 looks so cool n stylish 😍
Thank you Iftikar! 🙏 It sure does 😎👌
No fishing part it got traded for a tide graph whyyyy
@@arthurdeleniq Haha, I know right? 😝 if I had to guess- I’d say it’s cause they have a few variations of the fishing graph models for a while, and time to try something new.
Pretty interesting watch ⌚️
Indeed it is! 💯 I do enjoy unique and 'techy' timepieces like this too 😁
Great to see an Aussie reviewer!
Cheers Youwebz! 🍻😁
🇦🇺🦘👊
Will it look good at 6 inches wrist..?
Hi Gokul, what did you think of the wrist-check on my 6.5 inch wrist at about 8:43 ? If you're happy with that size, it won't be too much larger than that on your 6 inch wrist. 😁
Now review Sanda 6016 watch😊
Oh wow! I hadn’t seen this model yet. Thanks for sharing! 🙏
@@goatreviews you're welcome 🤗, just so you know it's a ga 2100 clone but it's just a little bit different on the bezel and the subdial
There is already a sailor moon casio
Oh good - I guess that means the WS-1700H is ineligible to be called that 😜 ALREADY TAKEN! 😂
Sir where to buy these lug adapters???
Great question, Azam! 👌 I’ve left a link to the lug adapters in the Video Description for you (16mm to 22mm) 😉
Hope this helps! 🙏
Damn 😱 I watched thia video 4 moths before and I forgot that you tried to swap this two watches and I commented you to swap them 😅 Now after seeing this same thumbnail multiple times finally I read is that your are saying that it will not fir 😅 My bad bro thanks for this video😊
Hahaha, no worries man, it's easy to forget 😄👌
Thanks so much, @@artkingofwholefoods74 🍻
Glad you could appreciate those solutions - I'm quite proud of them too! 😁👌
As for the dual time if you can't do the math or look outside that it's not a.m. or p.m. well then something's wrong. I really couldn't care less whether or not it shows an A or a p as well
LOL - This is a good point! 😂 I agree that it's not a huge deal 👌
I will say though - If the secondary time zone you're tracking with Dual Time is not one you're familiar with such as another country, it will be an extra step of memory to know whether they should be in AM or PM 😅
@@goatreviews true. But you could also just look outside haha
You do realize there places on this Planet where the Sun does Not rise for months or does not set for months....
Simple Math can go easily wrong with Jet Lag.
i see this name on reddit,
The Shore Man
cooler and better than sailor moon
Cool one! 😎👌
That makes a bit more sense to me than Sailor Moon 😜 Thanks for sharing!
Hey, Sailor Moon is badass!!! 😅
Hahaha - Point taken 😂
I guess I’m not feeling the connection of the name to this particular design 🤷🏻♂️
Certainly snappier to say out loud than “WS-1700H” though 😁👌
Yes or No ?
What's the question, Hrs?
Will it fit, without modification? No.
Do I recommend the WS-1700H? Yes! 😁
Why your casio royale have a green world map its fake or what
Haha, it’s genuine Casio! 😁 It’s a different colourway that I prefer. I covered it in my unboxing video here:

Lunar Mariner
Awesome nickname, Anush! 🔥👌 Thanks for the suggestion 🙏
AE 1200❤❤
One of the GOAT’s 🤩🙌🐐
The flaw is uninportant but also odd for such a big firm.
Orange strap is better
It’s in very unusual to see from Casio. 👍
I’m still waiting to see how they address this issue 🤔
Glad you like the orange strap! I just changed back to that one 😁🍊👌
At 2:27 it’s 4:20 time! 😂
Must have been a crazy coincidence 😜
WS terbaik menurut ku❤
Thanks Jamal! 🙏❤
@@goatreviews same bro...👍👍👍
Just sand down some plastic clips
Great idea! 💡 Another solution to the lug problem. 🙏
I suspect I could also sand down the faceplates to get the module-swaps to fit 🤔
Cheers @@gabbodj95 👌
Since the faceplates are internal, I don’t suspect they may impact waterproofing but you’re right, I wouldn’t want to compromise that.
Great idea! 💡 The mismatch may be with the size of the module itself… perhaps I can trim this down as well, as you said by focusing on the parts that may be blocking. Thanks for the tips! 🙏
hmm
🤔💭
If you're paying attention a lot of Casio movements have got weird annoying quirks, but this is a pretty bad one.
Yeah, I tend to agree. 👌 In most of my reviews I find at least a couple of minor inconveniences that I’d like to see addressed by Casio, such as the way buttons scroll, etc. But this one was an actual BUG! 🤯
I dont use the dual time feature so, i dont care for it. The tide and moonphase are awesome
Thankfully I’m in the same boat, QuestingKnightIV. This ‘bug’ isn’t a big deal to me, so I’m happy with the watch. But I can see it being a dealbreaker for some!
Open the back and fill it with mineral oil. You're welcome.
Cool idea for a Hydro Mod! 👌 Thanks for the suggestion. 🙏 It's about time I did another one!
