- Feria has been coming out with new trendy shades and are now known for the brand new power reds! These are shades that contain an extra color booster of red color to take an average red to the next level. I found that feria 57 will lift dark hair easily and the result is interesting because I would describe it as a red violet shade. It is super red in warm light and outside it has a slight tinge of violet to it, yet it is a warm red. This has been the brightest I have ever done and I actually like it alot! If you have 100% gray or 50% DO NOT use this!!! it will turn your hair pink or orange.

Thank you so much! I came from having a light intense auburn from olia and have been searching for something me since is it has been really hard to find the olia colour lately. I love thais color on you! I have some gray around not much but love a red with some violet a dreamy wine so to speak; I been coloring my hair long time it sucks they havent come out with reds (box shades like this) that dont freakin fade out so fast! I chose this color r57 cherry grabs the attention it looks nice and rich. glad you shared ty

Hi Vincent. I use Garnier Nutrisse Ultra Color R3 light intense auburn and my hair is bright red and I was wanting to try to darken it just a bit , do you think that feria 57 would do that or would it turn it pink, thanks
I am a woman with very ivory light skin and blue eyes , an I love love beautiful dark red vibrant red hair but I am now sixty six years old and scared to death this would just look way too harsh on me , any suggestions on a red coloring that would work for me ? I really don’t want to look older or inappropriate .

Hi, This is my go to hair color for my rocket fire red look. I have light brown hair and it comes out exactly true to shade as on the model on the box.
Yay!!! :) I wish my hair was naturally lighter. No joke I was worried about being "too red" when I filmed this but now I don't believe there is such a thing as too red or too vibrant. My new philosophy is that we live in color.

I used Feria in the shade V48 Violet Vixen or Intense Medium Violet. It has the power violet. When I mixed the components of the dye, it looked red. When I applied it to my hair, it looked hot pink. Then, it darkened to a purple. The color looked nice in my hair. Also, I don't know if you had the same experience with the color booster, but it got everywhere for me.
That shade looked amazing on the box but I heard that it was very dark!!! Oh and I did have the same experience!!! As the color oxidized it looked scary and I was thinking oh no I don't want to look like a clown!!!! But it was fine in the end. And yes!!! The color booster was super runny!!! In professional and sally beauty colors, there are intensifiers that are cream based. They do the same thing as the booster and add pigment to the color.

It's hit or miss when it comes to boxes dyed just like buying colored contacts online. You're not sure it will look like the picture until you try it.

Hi I have previous black dyed hair that I removed by stripping the color. Now it’s more my natural color except a little lighter since my hair has some red in it. My natural hair color is a medium brown. Do you think this will work on my hair?

Excellent question! This product should work just fine on your hair color! This is because you got all of the old color out so a new one can show up.

Does this work on color treated hair? My hair is dyed dark brown and I'm not sure if it would work on me :/
Great question!!! So this color will not work on previously colored hair that is super dark. You may get a slight tint of red but your natural roots would look much lighter. What you want to do is used a hair color remover like color oops, apply the color to your new growth and pull through the last 5min. With my own sometimes I would even then do a demi after just to make sure everything was even.

I usually use revlon 55rr but they discontinued it and it's like 30 dollars a box on Ebay. It's a copper based Ariel's mermaid red.. what would you recommend? I was gonna try this out and diy my own overtone copper shampoo to add more copper tones as it fades
Hello! Oh no when they discontinue products and color it drives me crazy. I use to love john frieda foam color 5R 6R and 5RV. when they got rid of them the same issue happened. What I have learned is that for the most part color shades can be matched up because there is only a limited amount of dyes on the market. You may try this color, it is vibrant but may be slightly on the cooler side. I think if you used the over tone shampoo it would even it out a bit. You can even mix this shade with another warmer red and make your own shade.
@@VincentBalducci thank you for your reply!!:) have you tried this brand in shade R68 ruby rush at all? From what I can tell on the box it's a bit more copper based so I'm partial between getting that or this shade. Mixing them might be a good idea!
@@quinnmelvin6844 Hi 👋 Yes, but Ariel's hair is red but it's more a bright scarlet red
If your hair is virgin and dark you can use 30 volume and it will lift 2-3 shades lighter as apposed to 20 volume which will only lift 1-2. You hair must be pretty dark which is why it didn’t lift as light as the picture. 20 volume is standard for most box dyes. If you wanted it any lighter now you’d have to colour remove and bleach. It looks really good on you so I wouldn’t do that 😍❤. Just saying for others who might want to try this ❤️.

Hi there Aracely, there is no conditioner that is used in this only the serum, and color booster.
is it best results with clean or dirty hair ?
Melissa Sotelo great question! So for many years some stylists would suggest dirty hair. Now we recommend clean hair. The reason is because dirty hair may actually block the hair color and some products like hair sprays have alcohol that causes a reaction with the color. If a person has very resistant gray hair I actually shampoo and condition the hair and apply to towel dried damp hair.
Can this be used on bleached hair?
yes! Just be aware that on bleached hair this will be lighter and lightly cooler toned.
box color only has 20 volume and I use it alot over bleached hair and doesn't cause damage :) but will def be much brighter on the bleached hair.
Just curious how do u know if this color will turn orange pink on highlighted hair
Great question! Always strand test. My experience working with loreal professional is their reds are not formulated to last long as a result the low quality dye they used will turn pink on hair that is porous
@@VincentBalducci thank u for responding I was just curious because I just use L’Oréal Féria in the shade intense copper C74 and my ends were bleach and dyed dark blonde and my fresh roots were lift with a box highlift brown from L’Oréal and they turn out good after using c74 but I heard that Féria tends to fade fast especially their reds, do the same thing go for coppers too and if so what’s the best way to keep it from fading fast do u find color sealers effective?

Payton Price excellent question! So if you have previously colored your hair, your hair will be porous. You may use this color on your regrowth but I would recommend finding a Demi permeant color that matches the shade because if you overlap red color over previously colored hair it may cause a brown our and look muddy. In rare cases I’ve left this color on for 3min and rinsed

Absolutely!!! And it may even work better! This is because dark hair as red undertones this dye will lift and enhance them!

@@pinkcherries68 oh! That’s a whole different story! Typically color does not lift color. You will most likely need to use a color remove and after using this color apply to the new growth and mix remaining color with conditioner and run through the ends for 5min

hair on top is not weaker, it is actually strongest. healthiest. the ends are thee most weakest and driest. but this color looks amazing on you :)

orangeblueandlavenda ah great question! So your looking for Red copper or a RR if you want something a little less warm. Try Féria 68 or if you want it more copper you may mix it with C74. Would you be open to other hair color brands like ones from Sally Beaity or Madison reed?

It turned out really nice but Omg a professional not too snobby to try box color? Wow. Seems like every pro on here is so anti box dye. I know they tend to have higher levels of ammonia and developer but the way they're bashed it seems as if they're the worst thing to put in your hair lol.
Thank you!!! I loved this shade so much, (I was worried at first). Believe it or not as a professional I prefer loreal from sally or box color over the "professional color". The reality is the box colors tend to have better quality pigment and last longer than loreal professional. This is because according to the business reports loreal spends more money in consumer products instead of "professional products". More ammonia is excellent for lifting, as well as higher developer. The only down side with box color is lack of being able to customize the color. Its funny because you would be shocked at how many snobby responses I get from other professionals. I always am down to earth and remember that before I was a professional I was always curious trying new colors. Ever hair dresser needs to take the hair freaks and color geeks class from coastline education.
