    last year next to this spot. • Nugget Found! Part 1: ...
    Part 2 takes you on our adventure of prospecting, testing, setup and locating of placer gold. We're on a small creek up in the mountains of the Pacific Northwest looking for gold nuggets and pickers. This creek has no seasonal run of salmon, steelhead or trout and mostly dries up in the summer. Part 1 covers the first half of our trip. Day one we prospect for gold using metal detectors (equinox 800), crevicing and panning. Day 2 we dredge with my modified 4" dredge and find some amazing gold! We also start a test on the dredge Dream Mat. Part 2 we continue our search for the elusive shiny yellow rocks. Follow along for the adventure and enjoy the show. Part 3 will be our final dredge site and trip clean up.

      Hey Chris,
      My name is David. Man, I tell you there is something about recovering precious metals that really intrigues me. After I got out of the hospital after a 996 day stay and most likely having ADHD, I find that having hobbies helps me tremendously.
      Right now I am reading CM Hoke. (I think that is the name of the author) and watching TH-cam.
      Perhaps in the future you would not mind guiding me further? I would appreciate the advice more than you could imagine.
      I feel this work is in my blood. If you knew my last name you might agree.
      I live on the west side of Japan and have access to the Sea of Japan and many rivers. I also have a big workshop at my house and am not afraid of learning the chemistry and practicing proper lab techniques.
      I look forward to hearing from you and watching many more of your videos.

      Everything is well. Hopefully I'll have it up pretty soon. Work is slowing down and I'll have time to edit. I have more trips to edit as well. If anything I'll have some fun content coming out all winter.

      Sorry I missed your comment when you posted it. I've always wanted to visit Japan. I don't know anything about gold deposits there.
      I'd suggest starting with a pan and testing around. Check for local gold clubs. Facebook is really good for that. I would also check local regulations.
      Have you found anything yet?

    So sick!! I just started watching your channel and I’ve been wondering if there’s any legality in your specific state to use jackhammers while gold hunting. I’ve noticed watching a handful of vids that it seems to take up a chunk of time to break apart and remove the boulders. Even an electric one would save a bunch of time yielding, better efficiency.
    Just a thought I don’t know much about mining, keep it up!! 🤝 🤝

    • @prospectingforadventure
      @prospectingforadventure  10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      That's a good question. Jack hammers aren't really made to break boulders. It would work on hard packed gravels. I'm sure it would fall under motor operated equipment. Many places that's not allowed.

    Show us next video how you use a predator engine on that high pressure water pump

    • @prospectingforadventure
      @prospectingforadventure  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The impeller takes a keyway shaft. The predator motor has a keyway shaft. Mounts up just like a Honda. Some of the older pumps need a threaded shaft.

    Super neat dredging video.
    What's the model of your dredge or cost for similar?

    • @prospectingforadventure
      @prospectingforadventure  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you!
      This is a late 80's keene 4" dredge. It was originally a floating dredge on two floats. I modified it so I could also use it on legs. You can get a similar dredge for a range of prices. Brand new they are expensive, $2k plus. You can find used gear for much less. I've seen some go for around $1,500 that are ready to go. Some as low as $600 or so that are mostly complete. You'll likely need new hoses if they've been sitting around for a while.

    How do you go about finding were you can run gas an battery operated tools on the river ?

    • @prospectingforadventure
      @prospectingforadventure  ปีที่แล้ว

      You'll have to look up your local/state laws. Study them and research where to go and how those laws will affect you.

    I have never used a sluice before but to me it looks like the water is moving too fast and you may be losing some fine or flour pieces. Or is the water movement and volume optimum for the operation?

    • @prospectingforadventure
      @prospectingforadventure  ปีที่แล้ว

      It could be too fast. This was my first trip with the dream mat. I was testing the angle. I ran it at different angles until I found a workable exchange rate for my situation. Some of those video angles we're moving overburden, which I tend to run faster. This creek doesn't have a lot of fine gold to worry about.

      Did you use miners moss before and do you really see a difference????

    • @prospectingforadventure
      @prospectingforadventure  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. My other configuration as a section of moss in it. I haven't used the dream mat long enough to have a clear opinion yet. One significant plus with DM is the small amount of cons. Makes for a quick clean out. Also why I might go back to my last setup. I like having more cons because I'm dredging near the source. I capture more rock that might have a little gold stuck in it. I'm not convinced yet that DM does a better job yet.

    • @prospectingforadventure
      @prospectingforadventure  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Dredging is under scrutiny right now. I would rather not discuss even what state I'm in. I assure you it's legal where this video was produced. Some people straight up just want a road map laid out for them. Others just want a little help to get started.
      If someone wants to try dredging, it's pretty easy to look up the regulations in each state. I'd recommend joining state specific gold prospecting clubs on Facebook. There's also gold clubs scattered across the U.S.. Many of them have their own claims. Some of them even have prospecting gear to check out.
      I'm willing to have a conversation and help. I don't typically respond to people blatantly fishing for info.
