Not sure which organizations you contacted one but if your looking for a fun volunteering opportunity, we do these monthly hikes with the pups from Westside German Shepherd Rescue (downtown LA). Not a major time commitment and you get to take the pups out of their shelter environment out into some fresh air and some needed exercise. Hikes are monthly and cover diff locations from hiking trails to beach excursions. If you are interested, here is a reference to one of our hiking FB pages for info. facebook.com/groups/213314659198008/ Let me tell you, there is no better feeling than taking your pup out for a couple of hours and then to later hear he/she was adopted later that week. :) Our next hike is Sunday Jan 28th.
