Yeah they hotfixed like all the memey stuff I could test so far, but the tower was only up for 24 hours so I have some other ideas that might be helpful if they work. xD I did each of them a few times with/without cheesy things though.

So apparently there is a ~5:00 minute enrage time on this encounter now too. Yikes. Just go watch videos of people doing it during Legion and you will see 8:00 or more minute fights regularly. I don't think there was any enrage mechanic back then. This means the dps check is MUCH higher now (breaking the shield was the only real dps check before), in addition to us having less self healing. Brutal.

Yeah I noticed this too, it's like they ALL start casting their empowered move all at once after a while. It literally didn't happen on the PTR but now it is on live. My original PTR kill was like 7 or so minutes I think, and when I went to do it on live I felt like it was going smoothly until they all just kept spamming moves like that.

I feel like rogues have so much less self healing now than we had during Legion. Going to make these challenges tough. We should be able to use Prydaz for this like almost everyone did during Legion!

Yeah it's kinda rough in that aspect, 100% able to be done but it takes a bit of practice and good management of kiting/positioning the bosses to avoid extra damage. Having that old artifact perk where Crimson Vial would give you a stacking damage reduction buff was really helpful during this fight, so without it it's definitely a bit more painful.

Back then, I used the legy, where feint healed you for 30% or something. Did it on the first time it was up.
Now, I struggle more than during legion.
What depresses me right now is the fact that the cause of death is in most cases "meleehit" (not during berserk Jarl of course). The heal orb makes it possible I guess, but it feels a bit inconsistent to me.

Hm, I'd have to look at my gear again to see what I was using, I think this might have been PTR footage which they then buffed the fights after launch, I can't remember for certain. >< The Ravaged Seed Pod trinket is a big help for this fight if you can get it though, it does a lot of AoE damage and gives leech, so it helps heal you quite a lot with only a 1 minute cooldown.

So, I just did it on live servers.
I advice you to wait for nerfs, it is incredible hard in my oppinion. I had no special gear or something and missed alot of enchants like the satyr one.
IF you like to try it un-nerfed, here are some tips that worked well for me:
    Talents
master poisoner is indeed a good option, because beside your vial (which is a joke), lifeleech is everything you have.
Master assassin sounds well to nuke down the shield, but well.... OF COURSE subterfuge is the most fun here :D deals alot more damage to all 3 and remember(!!) you CAN vanish infight without negative consequences.
Rest goes as shown by the red rogue, but I sticked to poison bomb. Listen, I love crimson tempest, but it didn't wokred for me that well here. Firstly, I used my pvp gear (for defensive versa) and had not that much tempo and crit. So it's hard to keep CT up, while don't let SnD fall off. With PB, you can have and hold rupture on 3 targets. Also, I needed the free brain capacity of PB being passive tbh. Important note: most guides will tell you to go CT just because PB could break blind, which is NOT THE CASE. I tried it, it didn't happened to me even once. So to wrap it up: I think CT is indeed the optimal talent, but if you feel like it overwhelms you, I advice you to stick to pb. Get more rupture's out instant and your dps will be fine.
    Gear
There are 2 things of big value here, that is lifeleech and versatility/stamina. I had 15% def-versa (30% overall) and 15% lifeleech (you can get much higher with the right enchants, especially weapons).
Get gear with these stats, if you got problems to survive.
Also look up for tank trinkets. Dunno, just SOMETHING with stamina at best imo. I used a darkmoon one (from the arena xD), it had flat stamina on it xD But I think even pvp-trinkets can help.
Mechanical things to note (just things that I learned in no order that would make sense xD)
    1. If possible, stun both of jarls abilitys, the "enrage" AND the whirly.
    2. If possible, blind Sigryn BEFORE she begins her aoe-cast - that way, you can take her out instantly. If you do so, you can put your dots back up on her, which is very good, to deal more dps. If you blind too late and get her out, her cast will go on and you die. So TRY to get here blinded before that and instantly get bleeds back up on here (don't worry, she herselfs doesn't deal too much dmg). I messed it up 2 times myself, it's not the end of the world. But one time more and I would have lacked the damage to finish the challenge intime.
    3. THERE IS AN ENRAGE now! Your time is limited. My playstile was like: garrote and rupture on all 3 if possible. Than funnel everything you have on one of them. Which one to focus isn't that important imo, but I advice to use Sygrin only for dots. The caster is theoreticly the best target, which isn't always possible (I know, I use that word alot here^^). But if she stand in or behind an aoe or something, jarl is just fine to focus. The fight ends, when Jarl is dead and the caster is at about 7-8% life.
    4. When stun runs out on jarl, use evasion. 2min CD feels not that long here, you can use it in most cases, so do not spare it too long. You can definitly pull it at the beginning for max. dmg. You do NOT have to kite him everytime, which would cost you too much dps in my experience.
    5. Cloak however I advice to keep for nasty overlaps. Except of jarl (physical dmg) you can immune almost EVERYTHING else in the fight.
    6. Purple circles: In most cases do the smallest first. If you can't get all 3: cloak. I spared my sprint for this mechanic.
    7. You can vanish without resetting the fight.
    8. If you play like me, use fan of knifes here and there to ensure your poison is always on all 3.
    9. Use the blind macro as shown by the red rogue.
Sorry for bad english grammar and stuff, but it took me some hours to solve this challenge and I am tired now xD I hope it helps....

Some fantastic advice and pointers in here, my friend. ^^ I only tried Sigryn a couple times on live since I was working on Agatha first, but man the enrage when they all start getting their empowered abilities is kinda nuts. xD It 100% did NOT do that on the PTR when I tested it, so that's unfortunate to see.
I can definitely agree a defensive trinket is not a bad idea at all, I had an absorb shield on use one that seemed to work well.

Brother i have ilvl 201, i know that it scales, but i find many people doing more dmg than me in the mage towers, i cant see why, iam keeping dots up aswell as poison, Still people do more dmg. Do you really need better gear even if it scales?

    • @ZeraTheRedRogue
      @ZeraTheRedRogue  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

So the it basically just drops all your gear down to item level 50, so the only important thing from your normal gear is if you have really good stat itemization. So like if you have a ton of crit and haste on your gear at item level 201, then when you get scaled down you'll still have crit/haste as your highest stats. However, if you're wearing not good stats on your gear, then when you get scaled down you will be at a disadvantage since your stats become more important as you go lower it item level due to the way it squishes everything.
You'll also see a lot of people who have Timewalking sets, or Mage Tower specific sets of gear. The reason certain things like that are becoming popular is because there is a lot of gear from older expansions that have extra benefits to them, like multiple sockets or for example, the Mechagon Rings which give a 2 set bonus effect from wearing 2 rings from the Mechagon Dungeon. You'll also see that certain trinkets are really effective when doing older content, like the Ravaged Seed Pod from Nythendra is great for the Sigryn fight because it does a AoE damage and also gives you a leech buff on a very very short cooldown.
There is technically some min-maxing that can be done with Timewalking content like the Mage Tower, though it has been done without cheesy/memey gear like that. There is a very noticeable power gain from doing even minimal things such as using older consumables (Potion of Unbridled Fury is good, Greater Flask of the Currents is the best flask atm, and Boralus Blood Sausage is the best food consumable for a primary stat buff, etc). However, there are also lots of price gougers/scalpers right now so prices on a lot of these things are very extortionately high.
It's kinda a mixed bag because the challenges are absolutely possible without cheesing them but the fact you're able to makes it feel like an unfair advantage for people who can.

@@ZeraTheRedRogue so from what I understand. No matter how much of a star let's say 70 agil you have, when it gets squished it's better off having a verity of stats instead of on eor two big.

This is a handy blind focus macro, so just make sure you SET SIGRYN AS YOUR FOCUS. Otherwise it won't work. xD Just copy/paste it and you're good to go.
    #showtooltip
    /cast [@focus,harm,nodead][] Blind
Again, Assassination's challenge is quite painful due to all the consistent sources of damage you'll be dealing with. Be mindful of your defensives/CCs and you should make it.
