    Where is the most beautiful Roadster model? The Z3!! Incomplete!!!

    Z3 missing...the most sold BMW roadster in the brand's history! and clearly not the hardest to find for this vid, right?! haha

    Another top class video. Z8 is my dream car. Just a bit disappointed that the Z4m wasn’t even mentioned, the last m car engine in a roadster.

    Nice and informative. But I agree, you should have included the M roadsters (Z3M and Z4M)

    I can't believe you didn't show the Z3. What a shame. There are so many enthusiasts that would have really enjoyed that.

    It’s a shame missing the Z3. Probably the easiest to find in good shape, Bond car and a commercial success for the brand.
    It’s just like watching some doc about the Brazilian Football Team and forget the 1994 squad: not the most brilliant but a contemporaneous successful squad.

    I've been putting off watching XCar films for a while, and after watching, I can't remember why. I think it's time to fill an empty spot in my subscription box. Brilliant film.

    "2000 BMW M Roadster - The four-cylinder Z3 was a bit of a snooze, but the M Roadster with 240 hp and a 0-60 time of around five seconds is a Gen-X Shelby Cobra. Quad chrome pipes out the back, fat tires, special side grilles and M badges identify this very special Z3. We believe in the years to come this car will be highly desired by collectors for its gracious curves and powerful engine."

    Don't know what these guys were thinking not to give the Z3 props. It clearly ages better than the Z4 and so much classier. Wanting to see a Z3 is what brought me here in the first place. What a shame.

    • @yayday
      @yayday 9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Miguel Arce-Goitia Yeah that's bullshit. The Z3 has a big role in BMW's history, as it is the first mass market roadster they made. The guys in this video are a bunch of pricks.

  • @Dvirgvili
    @Dvirgvili 9 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    What you said about the Z3 has really pissed me off. You obviously have no appreciation (or knowledge?) for the first roadster made by BMW (in the late 20' century) to break the market and be put on such a big line of production, compared to the previous roadster (Z1) and bring BMW into the world of popular 2 seater drop tops. If this video was made to show the history of BMW's roadsters, than I have absolutely no idea why you did not give the Z3 its earned respect.
    Besides, not sporty enough?
    I recommend you to try driving a Z3M or at least the 2L/2.8L straight 6 version. The amount of joy that you would get from driving one of these in indescribable. Seating inside the Z3 is just amazing. It's so beautiful and classy, yet simple to keep it sporty and authentic- just you and the road) The power that you'd feel kicking the rear wheels would make you smile like an idiot.
    I respect you for producing such a great and beautiful video about BMW's roadsters, but you can't just cut a off a piece of history.

      I have a 2001 Z3 roadster 3.0i 5 speed with the M Sport option and the 2 piece wheels in black and tan. Probably the best Z3 produced. The M was faster but you would have to mortgage your house if it broke. Plus, it is 3 series technology which you don't have to have a degree in computer engineering to fix. It's handling and power are far beyond my capabilities to get the best of. All for less that $10k four years ago with 55k on the clock. Best money I ever spent.

      I had to decide between a 2005 Boxster S and a M Roadster, going for the porker. A Boxster is a great chassis with a good motor, the M Roadster is a great motor in a good chassis...

    Great Video but not reviewing the Z3 because "its not very sporty" is disheartening.
    Larger engine Z3s were great handling cars. Also Tiff Needell says it was one of the best handling cars of its time. It was the last proper roadster that BMW made.

Had to download it so I could watch it again - sorry if that doesn't sit well with your number of views (broadband is expensive here in South Africa). • @MusicianKnowsBest
    @MusicianKnowsBest 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I really enjoy and appreciate this video but I think just simply skipping over the Z3 was a big mistake in the video. The Z3 was the original BMW roadster that was sold and bought by the masses. Also, it’s a beautiful, special and very sporty car in its own right. It may not be as special as the 507, nor as fast as the Z8... But it IS a very special, innovative, and certainly very sporty car.

    How the hell can you claim to be car enthusiasts and miss the Z3 and first Z4 from the roadster line up????? I’ve got a Z3 2.8 and wouldn’t swap it for anything. Yes, it has its flaws, but the looks have aged incredibly well. As for saying it’s not very sporty ??? You drove pre war cars and looked at them with nostalgia. The same should be done with modern classics. Perfection doesn’t make a car great.

    The 507 is heart achingly gorgeous.
    The E26 Z1 is beyond cool, doors look like special effects.
    The E52 Z8 is my all-time favorite BMW next to the E31 850CSi. Beyond lovely, I just want to pull up a chair and stare at it.
    The E36/7 m Roadster should have been there.
    E85 M Roadster was the last analog BMW, and was a thug!
    The E89 Z4 is gorgeous, is the first car in history to be designed by two women. Responsible for exterior & interior design. Absolutely smashing.

    Brilliant film Lads. I was fortunate enough to drive some classic BM’s around Hampshire a couple of weeks ago Z8,Z1 and3.0 CSL The 507 and 328 were among them, but sadly there wasn’t enough time in the day to do all the ones I would have liked to. The Z8 did feel special albeit built for the US market. It felt very wide on our UK roads. The 3.0 CSL was a wonderful car to have driven though
