Hello Chris. That is (was) my green cruiser you showed briefly just after the lookout point. That descent was was my seventh trip down Van Zyls. Five trips in well prepared Hilux Double Cabs, and one in a VW Syncro which did very well. That green cruiser was also very well set up for overlanding but I had just had a front diff locker fitted. I had it engaged for an earlier climb but failed to disengage it for that steep drop. When it was time to steer hard left into the drop the steering resisted because of the locker. It was too late to try and stop and over she went, completely blocking the pass. I couldn't find the right geometry and anchor points to winch it upright again. So it was back up the pass in my son's Hilux to get assistance. Within 24 hours the Cruiser had been completely stripped and everything carried away on donkeys - engine, gearbox, roof tent, fridge, two stainless water tanks, all the wheels, camping kit - the lot. Big loss. I won't make that mistake again. Roger
