    Test drove this car last weekend, my comment for this car, and compare with other cars in this price point:
    1. Quietness and NVH - top notch
    2. Drivetrain - responsive, engine is quiet even under hard acceleration
    3. Handling - Superb for a MPV
    4. Space - first and second row are just on-par, third row is the big WOW
    5. Audio system - the BEST in Perodua ever (except its 360 camera, it is blur)
    6. Aircon - coldness just right for a MPV, but blower is strong

    My own test drive after booking (booked before SST).
    1. Engine power - adequate for daily move. If 7 people in a car it will surely feel underpowered but I strongly believe it is still capable to go Genting with full load. It is matter of fast or slow arrival.
    2. D-CVT response is normal. But what I feel is when step pedal hard it will take 1 sec to get the power up.
    3. Ride and handling - body roll is there but quite minimum as a MPV. The ride comfort is outstanding and it absorb bump very well. I wish the suspension can be little more firmer to provide higher level of handling.
    4. Steering responsiveness - the steering feel very light to turn. However I find the steering responsiveness isn't sharp like Proton.
    5. Interior space - I give credit to Toyota, Daihatsu and Perodua designer as the driver position is well designed. My height over 180cm and surprisingly driver seat can roll forward till middle row can seat a 175cm adult and last row to fit a 165cm adult comfortably. The knee room of driver seat is a cheat code and great design to fit the long leg. It is no problem without telescopic steering adjustment.
    5. Ground clearance - 160mm height is ideal for kids and elderly plus giving good handling. But problem is it may have risk of scratch the underneath carriage if full load.
    6. Electronic features - full digital cockpit, 9 inches infotainment with android auto, electronic parking brake with brake hold function and full ADAS with ACC till stop. It is crazy spec at this price level.
    6. Price - RM 75k AV is a steal. 7 seater MPV with full set of features plus good ride and handling.
    Drawback of this car. Full load feel underpowered, steering less sharp and long waiting period.

      suspension, handling are not the focus in a mpv vehicle.. i think they did a very good job for the comfort they have to offer for long journey.. u wont be zipping around in a mpv expecting it to be like a sedan..
      and for the throttle respond, if u are going uphill most of the time, use the power button.. it sharpens the throttle respond very well
      like adrain said, for a valuable mpv.. the alza is something u cant strike out from yr to-buy-mpv list

    I am a user of proton exora for 10 years. Tested on this new Alza, my take is that, it is indeed a very successful product. Just imagine, it takes brains, experience and resources from three companies Daihatsu, Toyota and Perodua to craft this masterpiece.

    If there is 1 con I can highlight, it is that the second-row seats back are pretty low. so anyone taller than say 175cm will probably not have adequate cushioning for shoulder support. I know why they did that (to allow more airiness for 3rd row etc) but yeah left to be seen on long range conform for taller folks.

    This all new Perodua Alza makes me feel better from older Alza. The main thing is the engine power. I tested this car (Alza 1.5 H variant) on the highway and the speed is absolutely speechless.... This D-VVTI engine is powerful because it can reach 160km/h in D gear without using Sports gear. And the comfort of the car is fabulous. Overall, this is the best low-cost 7-seater MPV for a family that I recommend!

Being a near Rm80k car the rattling noise after 3k km are just unacceptable. In comparison my City 2009 have less noise despite travelled 110k km. The undercarriage fitting is far from what they claimed to be 'solid' or 'premium'. Don't say ppl upgrade from kelisa/old myvi/or any cheaper car will feel its premium. Its a freaking 80k car so we compare apple to apple. Try sitting in a Vios Dugong, thats why we call solid for 80k car.

    I think the future Veloz users should thank Perodua for offering such a great car at its price point.
    Toyota wouldn't have priced it below 100k if they did not feel the pressure. Veloz could be priced slightly below Cross Corolla and the Toyota users would buy it in a blink.
    But because of Malaysian policies in the last 20 years, Proton and Perodua has grew from the perception of inferiority to quality, words like premium and refined is suddenly used to describe cars locally made. Malaysians are proud now.
    I did my research in Philippines and Indonesia car channels, the users there misses out a lot of feature, this vehicle is supposed to be a basic vehicle for the low income classes in those countries, and Perodua has done their best to show how to make reasonably priced car than offers the features that matter.
    For the current and future Alza users, if you want the car to be even more premium, get the leather gear up, the hood insulation and door vibratile, and floor lighting.
    Skip the gear up skirting as it is overpriced and i do not appreciate it at all.
    and the gear up scuff plate, ugliest of all

      Actually Perodua is equipping what they have on Ativa on the Alza, and Veloz happened to be made in the same factory as Alza. The very same thing when Aruz and Rush have identical specs and came with ASA 2.0. This is also not the first time UMW gave Malaysian better specs than other ASEAN market, think about our Vios with 7-airbags. Also not to forget both Toyota Malaysia and Perodua are partly owned by UMW, so the price of Veloz is not pressured by anybody since price gap is just the same as what Aruz and Rush have.

    Imho if you are married and even your extended family doesn't own a 7 seater, yes the alza it's a no brainer. But ngl to me, as a single guy who doesn't see himself getting married in the near future due to the economy, whose family also already have the 2008 gen rush and a 2015 fortuner, a 7 seater feels too cumbersome. Also after "owning" my dad's 1985 saga for 10 years since I was 18, I think I deserve to be selfish for my 1st proper car. But talk talk much no matter if I can only afford at most a saga if I'm being financially responsible, a persona/iriz/myvi is already pushing too much luck.

    Yes, the Alza is a good car in a affordable package. But wapcar reviews nowadays seems to more "bodek" type... Everyone know this is a budget MPV & buyers are not expecting much. From this car review I have been heard the word "premium" all over & over again. Yet, 1.5L for such a big car in this segment is under powered and everyone knows that

    • @starrisk
      @starrisk ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Underpowered is a matter of opinion... Some people feel adequate equals not underpowered. Others want effortless to be not underpowered, effortless like big engine Benz and RR.
      Premium is a matter of opinion too... For that price, it's pretty premium. Not Benz premium no but at 20% the price, it's premium enough.

    • @AdrianChiaa
      @AdrianChiaa ปีที่แล้ว +4

      For RM75k you get 360 cam, AEB, ACC, auto high beam, EPB, AACP, fantastic driving experience from DNGA platform.
      The Alza has better power-to-weight ratio than the Xpander, Rush and Serena. Overtaking at highway speeds is no issue with 5 adults on board.

    • @aeroline11
      @aeroline11 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Underpowered is subject to individual. Most MPV in market are underpowered if compare to sedan. If one look for power then the only MPV satisfied him is 3.5L Alphard or Vellfire or used VW Sharan 2.0T. For daily drive 2 adults with 3 kids this 1.5NA is adequate. 7 adult surely underpowered but not like you need to tolak kereta from the back when going up Genting. It will slowly take all 7 adults to Genting with screaming sound from engine bay and a full load myvi overtaking you. Don't worry I bet the full load Viva 1.0 will still behind you.
      In fact the Alza drive does provides some sort of "premium" driving feeling thanks to the DNGA chassis. You can feel it yourself by comparing Alza vs Vios or City. The Alza feel more solid in drive meanwhile provide great ride comfort. I am driving a MQB chassis Passat and this Alza did impress me.
