+Kush Shah tip from someone who has been through 5 places in 3 years for college: DO NOT live with your landlord! it's worse than roomates! landlords will make your life hell they need to live in a separate building.
It makes you learn a lot about yourself and other people! it's stressful when you're in school to be fighting with someone but in the end you come out stronger. don't be scared of roomies! I've met some great people (even if they are a little broken)
Lol I was about to point that out but then I read the whole comment. Yeah they use I believe rubies but said differently. It is similar to China and Japans currency where the number is super high.
Geez. So many people moaning about that accent! I hope they are kids. It would be a shame if grown ups were being that way. The whole world now speaks English but in their own way. Native English speakers should at least try to meet rest of the world halfway and train their ears.
I think this started with the video where they reacted to stereotype indians on media and the guy near at the end of this video said they dont talk nor sound like "apou" from the simpsons and then tried to made and accent making fun of it and saying the viewers will understand better. and people since then have been commenting on the accent thing. The fact is for non indian people, the accent do sound like apou. Its just that indian people (like any country with different accents) can tell the difference between different regions accents. just like media puts italians on certain way of speaking and italian people can made the difference of what region a persons accent sounds like.
akirin900 That's not what I was saying. Am not saying you should know which Indian accent it is. Just learn to understand English in various accents. Accents vary even among English speakers, American, British, Scottish, Australian, Canadian. Then there is the Italian, French, German. Indian accented English is just that, English with an accent. So people shouldn't have such great difficulty in understanding what is being said. Especially as these girls' accent was not that heavy.
when life gives you lemons you make lemonade, and when it doesn't, you uproot the lemon tree and beat the crap out of life with it, then you squeeze the lemons into lifes eyes,. and then squeeze them into your own eyes to show life how tough you are!
All these comments about how they can't understand the accent smh. Every time something doesn't involve straight white people with fluent English, someone sparks an argument in the comments.
+TheMissFrenchy there are more than 15 languages in India alone, and I'm well versed will most of them. Along with some outside India as well. But it isn't about knowing languages or to speak in this, it's merely the knack of understanding them, and not commenting negatively if you fail at it.
those of you that can't understand their english must have difficulties in understanding any foreign person. that's kinda sad (if you're a native english speaker).
that's not true. it's kinda hard for me to understand them, but i can understand foreign east asian people perfectly. why? because my family is chinese, and i'm used to the accent.
Tori Layne yep, you're correct. Thank you for understanding my perspective. over time though, you learn how to understand various accents. that's why students in college complain about foreign professors but adapt to their voice over time. people just have to learn the accent rather than getting mad and saying that the accent is too hard to understand. that was my main point.
EseKanayo2 I have lots of European friends, and I regularly talk to them. But their accents are not even close to similar to the Indian-English accent.
No. If you can't understand them that's fine, they spoke quite quickly and the person struggling to understand them may be foreign themselves, from elsewhere.
That makes no sense. My family is not from America, and when I visit my home country, there are often people even I cannot understand. That being said, I find certain accents to be difficult to understand. Rude and thoughtless generalization
As a native english speaker, I had no trouble understanding their words, Lot's of people have different accents, It's just a matter of getting over yourself & accimilating your ear to their dialect.
I damn love the accent. It sounds cute on the men and beautiful on the women. Also the general facial features of an Indian woman are imo the most beautiful ones in the world.
ahh the accent reminds me of my indian friend who i am missing a lot, i adore it! I'm moving into a shared flat in germany in 2 months and i'm roommate hunting right now, so wish me luck ^^
All I see are comments of people saying “if you have a problem with their accent then u can just not watch it” When really I haven’t seen 1 comment saying that...

getting a bad roomate in college is legit my biggest fear
I'm just going to pay extra to get a solo room I can't stand living with other people
Dont worry As Long u have ur best friend... Food

I had the WORST roommate experience of my life in college.
They said 300 for the theater stuff and I almost peed my pants and then I remembered it's a different currency.
Lol I was about to point that out but then I read the whole comment. Yeah they use I believe rubies but said differently. It is similar to China and Japans currency where the number is super high.

Learn more English? It's the accent that confuses them... or at else I think so
Not everyone are native speakers here you know
I'm curious, how many languages do you speak? Did you learn all the accents of those languages? I don't think so.

THEIR ACCENTS ARE SO BEAUTIFUL TO ME
I don't know how much money that translates to in the United States but i'd be cracking skulls.

the moment she said" ki oshojho gadha choda" I knew 2 things.. 1.she is a Bangali girl
2. that we would have been best friends..
The auto-generated captions are hilarious
ikrr I could understand what they were saying so I turned if on and I was like wtf..
I understood about 80% of their English.
That is because 20% was Hinglish ( hindi-english )
I barely understood 50% of what they said lol, and I'm American.. ^^

1:40 Did they seriously blur the mirror? How about just filming in a spot that doesn't have mirrors?
it's not a mirror it's a poster inside a frame. I think they just didn't want to share to the world where they were when they shot the scene
Love you guys so much!! You should have your own channel :)
All I see are comments of people saying “if you have a problem with their accent then u can just not watch it”
When really I haven’t seen 1 comment saying that...
maybe one of my new fave buzzfeed vids this is hilarious

If you honestly have trouble understanding what they are saying there's something wrong with you not them
Not necessarily. If someone's not exposed to a variety of accents, it's harder to understand them. I, for one, am tripped up by Scottish accents like nobody's business. The reaction to ill comprehension is more the issue.
if you are from a non english country like me, it is quite hard to understand
I'm saying this to the people in the comments that are being rude about how thick their accents are and kind of making fun of it.
+♥ Anieke Ⓥ there are more English speakers in Indian than your country!
Mandy Mican then you should have said that in the original comment instead of generalizing everybody
I'm Indian and I love how everyone's like "I barely understood anything."
