Reliability is the biggest advantage of the Innova and with the added strong arm of Toyota's expertise, it goes without saying, it's still unbeatable for now. Mahindra will have to prove it's dominance or similarity with the Innova by crossing this very significant hurdle.

@@keralanaturelover196 Going by the waiting period (especially for the top M8), looks like Marazzo is quietly stealing the show away from the Innova (literally too because the cabin is the quietest in the segment). Much needed competition, at least on VFM proposition.

It feels expensive because it is expensive! Mahindra has hit the sweet spot! They have given the customers the space of an Innova in the price of a compact SUV! I think Marazzo is better in terms of Value and the Innova is definitely overrated and overpriced for what it offers!

Superb comparison. Marazzo is absolutely VFM product when compared to the utterly overpriced Innova. Interiors feel almost as good and plush as the VW Vento. Good to know noise isolation is great, much needed in an MPV. It scores in all the right boxes!
I think they will easily get the Ertiga customer who wants more space but can't buy Innova, and the Mahindra customer who wants a neatly designed family car instead of the performance oriented XUV.
In Chennai, the top end Innova is ₹28lakhs on road. Which is ₹12 lakhs on road costlier than top end Marazzo, which is enough to get another base variant Marazzo!
Mahindra has a winner now, let's see how it fares.

To be honest it's a good car but please don't compare it with the Innova as Innova has been in this segment for a lot of time and it's not the best just coz of it's comfort.... It's good coz of the rock solid Toyota reliability and attention to detail.
To be honest the Mahindra looks very cheap as compared to the Innova 😂 it's a good car and maybe able to dislodge the lodgy or ertiga but whenever it's about Innova the other car which comes to dislodge it gets dislodged itself 😂 seriously coz it's not the first time the other Indian and outside manufacturers have tried to get a cheap MPV to rival or cut Innova sales as ertiga was launched many years back and it was great value for money and it was much more fuel efficient than the Marrazo and maybe more reliable than the Marrazo as Mahindra are not the best in that area and the service costs were also down coz that's maruti territory and everyone looked upon it as the car that would dethrone Innova as it was 7-8 lakhs cheaper but what happened we all know 😂 so it's a good car but not Innova competitor.
Ertiga and lodgy or other medium priced MPVs might be the better comparison 👍

I have driven the Marazzo and to be honest , there's no lag nor vibration from 0 -120 . after 120, I feel like it's stretching itself. The question what needs to be answered here is, a person who is into performance, would not buy an MPV but more or less a GT tsi or a car with a turbo. Secondly, the luxury in the Marazzo is similar to that of the previous Innova models. Thrdly , yes the Marazzo has a less powerful engine. However if 7 people are seated inside, the Marazzo ,there's hardly anything you feel.
Coming to after Sales Service, Did you know Mahindra has the top most rating? Servicing is not expensive either. I'm not saying innova is bad. But for an Average person like me who wants decent luxury, quiet cabin, less cost of servicing and can pull to 120-140 without a problem, I would definitely choose this. I hope @pranav Kant understands this.
I think the marazzo will be just fine in the long run too because it has the Mahindra DNA. I can say that from personal experience with the scorpio which I still have. The Innova crysta is a brilliant car but it is not worth almost 21 lakhs for a mid variant (Delhi). That should put the price into perspective. I think that the marazzo has got the sweet spot in the sense that it is neither to expensive nor too cheap.
my dad has been LITERALLY abusing his scorpio for the past 10 yrs. and its still running fine after 212k kms... Mahindra cars can be as if not more durable than toyota...marazzo definitely has that mahindra dna

Innova is overpriced. After selling cars for all these years Toyota realised its very easy to loot Indians. Mughals did it, British did it, now its their turn.
Jeevan More actually you're wrong the performance and handling is a very important aspect in a car and Innova excels it with it's 2.5 and 2.8 l engines. It anytime anywhere excels over marazzo. Marazzo has a 1.5 l engine which is less for a big car like that. No doubt marazzo offers space and a big car feel in a cheap price but the performance and the thrill of driving in the Innova is far better than the marazzo

Other main channel Indian reviewers just put out big words and gaudy music. The purpose of such vehicles demands passenger comfort. Body roll in broad curves and sharp overtakes, the engine braking characteristics, smoothness of accelerator input, the progression of braking, mainly the suspensions..dampening affecting up down movements, jolting on rough surfaces, sideward drags in warped tar surfaces. Bit of science behind these. Bit of comparison explanations in subjective feels.

nice review with balanced perspective, without being overly zingoistic towards any specific MUV. yes ,within the price bracket, mahindra has created another game changer in the market. Innova may win on an ABSOLUTE COMPARISON, but in indian market VFM is what decides the winner. In that sense, i can see a bright sales for Marazzo, provided that no gremlins/jugaado annoyances dont creep up as is common with indian manufacturers.

really i loved marrazo and so my dad, and so we may buy this one next year

Yesterday i did my first paid service for crysta for 15K kms. Cost: Rs.1581 with pickup/drop, regular service, interior/exterior cleaning. XUV500 major service cost was 24k base service with it going up till 50k with the parts that needed repairs. I can't comment on major service cost for crysta as havent had that done yet but don't think it would cross 5-6k.

aditya thakoor lol it's funny to think Innova is cheaper in service! Just drive it around 60 to 70k KMS and you LL feel it! The service for my car goes up to 10k for each 10k KMS and around 2k for every 5k kms. Every part is costly as the kms run by. So pls give up your opinion that the service is cheap for Toyota.
@@sidhu-bu7sm the feel of the material is sooo much better in the crysta (Currently own the VX variant). Just feels so much more solid. XUV may provide more features especially in the top variants.(I had the w6). So if your heart really wants to go for XUV then be sure to get max extended warranty and sell off within 4 years.
I have had the old innova in my family and haven't ever had any issues as far as maintenance is concerned or high service costs.
In the end do take test drive of both vehicles and decide.

I hate crysta since it has been launched. For me, it's a very boring design, no eye appealing interior except premium qualities and no smooth lines. And most important, OVERPRICED !!! Marazzo rocks in every aspect though...finally the competition is going to be real tough for innova.

Because their components are mostly from japan and their car is no.1 in world because other like bmw etc make even much higher profit per car. INnova has just 3 ABS and marazzo 2 ABS and DRIVING comfort due to more powerful engine but Marazzo engine is best for india as we are not going for speed here. Marazzo is most silent and it is equally efficient and smooth too.
Marazzo is first body-on chasis by mahindra with no shaking and stable body. EXTRA in marazzo is auto AC, 6 MT transmission (innova is 5 MT lol), mileage of 2.2 km extra, big tyre, EBD, bosch DISC BRAKE (innova drum brake at back lol) at back, reverse camera, adaptive lines, rear sunshade, faux quality leather (innova not even leather lol), NAVIGATION , reverse camera ETC lol go and buy ur crap OVERPRICED INNOVA. OTHERS are not idiot to buy it.
Marazzo was much needed..to keep a check on Toyota in this segment with price rocketing with every new facelifts...

akash lol price difference see it. toyota is for international travellers lol mostly in americas who travel world in car. when other brands came to india many said NOKIA was always best and nokia out of market now lol.

Marazzo is good but Crysta is great. There is no comparison between two cars. Mahindra fit and finish is not as good as Toyota. Toyota engines are best in the world. Marazzo should be compared with Ertiga, Lodgy etc.
Difference of 10 lakhs brother. Put 10 lakhs more into Marazzo and mahindra will rock it too.
Crysta is great in putting too much cost in a car.....

After viewing this video, I feel Marazzo will sell in good numbers, considering the price tag , the equipments it offers, ride and handling etc. Definitely M&M needs a thumps up.

Marazzo is a car which is best in fuel efficiency, low cost, high quality materials used in the car.
But Innova is known for its ruggedness, durability and it's been so many years Toyota has come with new variants colours and new technology in Innova.
The review is obviously superb.
In terms of expensive premium looks or poshness, buy Innova ...
If it is about Low price family car and fuel efficiency... It's like full package with very low price...
I vote for MARAZZO obviously...
But u guys have not discussed about safety features like airbags , abs, smart sensors...
