TL;DR Just play whatever you want
It might not be a totally original game, but it's not a 1:1 copy anymore.
There are enough changes in terms of balancing around weapons/maps to fit the roblox engine vs the source engine, that I think TC2 can be considered a standalone game.
But it's the same way that Opera is considered a separate browser from Chrome, even though both have chromium running under the hood. The underlying character roles and gameplay mechanics are exactly the same.

also look up sensitivity converters so you can convert from different games
