As a Finn, I feel a deep connection to the Ukranian resistance as my country went through the exact same thing in the Winter war and it is so engraved in our culture now. I didn't really think much about Ukraine before, but now i feel like they are our brothers and sisters.
I've never been to a war zone, but when I was 14 my family spent a year living in an African country that was a military dictatorship. It's weird how quickly you get used to things like police in armoured personnel carriers and carrying assault weapons. I'm sure it would be similar in a situation like this. As dangerous as it may be, people still just need to live their lives.
In Poland we also eat a lot of borsch, especially during christmas when our moms and grandmas are preparing it with little dumplings inside, it's my favourite dish from the Ukrainian cuisine
but Polish borscht is a completely different soup than Ukrainian - it is also made of beetroot, but everything else is different. It is much more "watery" and you can just drink it as a beverage
There's also a Lithuanian version which I can't pronounce (Šaltibarščiai), but it is very tasty. The difference is that they add buttermilk or cream giving it a lovely pink colour and it is served cold, usually in summer.

In my opinion this was a very respectful video. He showed both the beauty of Ukraine and the current horrific situation for the Ukrainian people. For people outside Ukraine (or any other war site) it is really impossible to grasp how it is to live in such a situation. I try to image it my really can't. You getting emotional watching what is done to your motherland makes me feel emotional too, even though it isn't the same of course. It must be so hard for all the Ukrainians outside the country witnessing this war going on without any sign it will end soon. And for the people in the middle of it I can only say how much I respect them for going on with their lives and making the best of a very bad situation. I hope and wish that one day decision makers will finally realize that a war, any war, can not be won, ever, but that everybody loses. Thank you for sharing inna. ~ Vals

Even I started to get emotional watching this. Seeing the reaction on your face and the people paying their respects to those they have lost. Really hope that this war ends soon and Ukraine can return back to normal. Hope you get to go back as well. I know you say you live in Italy, but who all do you have to go back to in Ukraine? Just various relatives? Maybe grandparents?
