  • This PRELUDIO DE 1° TONO was printed in 1714 in SANTIAGO DE MURCIA's book and can therefore be attributed to him, even though it resembles neither in construction nor in style the other works by this author. This PRELUDIO DE 1° TONO for guitar is in fact unique in its architecture of Italian-style OUVERTURE. It gives precedence to the dramatic effect: abrupt modulations, distant tones, opposition of slow and fast periods, dialogues, chromaticism, etc. This theatrical aspect is hardly found in baroque guitar literature, and even less so in the Spanish guitar, which is more oriented towards the form of instrumental variations. I can cite in this same architectural style, though much less developed, the few Ouvertures for guitar which have come down to us in manuscript form from Nicolas Derosier and the anonymous CS-Pu, MSII KK 76 a and b, among others.

The video is well done, and i appreciate the effort, but it just doesn't sound great. You are either using the wrong mic, or overdoing the right hand. The dynamics are over the top, the tempo is a little off, the strings appear too loose, and there's buzz all over.

Where is he "a little off"? And what is he "overdoing"?
