this was an excellent! simple but very powerful lesson and guess what, after 3 years of some major frustration this video applied made me become faster and cleaner at my chord changes, (ones i was struggling with) so thankyou!!!

Thank you, Jen. You are so patient and supportive as an instructor. Actually, though, I was searching for a video of you singing. I watched the "What's Up" instructional, and there were bits of singing recorded, and from what I gathered, you have an amazing singing voice.

You're such a great ambassador for music and musicians, and a kick ass guitarist to boot. You are honest and true to your craft and a passionate individual. I started watching your crazy videos many years ago and I have seen some of your life journey in them. The people you attract and who are around you, including family, friends, musicians and artists, can be attributed to your kind nature and beautiful heart. You don't know me, and I don't really know you, and there are probably more things that separate us than join us, but I'll always be a fan....and a want to be guitarist. lol

Love your entertaining way of teaching JT. Makes learning far more fun. I always had a thing about counting numbers in my head, but was to do with occupational compulsive disorder (OCD) more than keeping time. I always feel for the beat or rhythm these days.

Such a useful tip to use a metronome! The sound though will haunt my dreams because I have to use it a lot for piano, so I've never thought about using it for guitar too

yeah, it's great for guitar! if it starts to get annoying you can also use a drum machine ;)

Hi Jen. Great to have you back. Been watching your latest interviews which are brilliant, I have to say. I know you may have done this before, but, any chance you could do a video on strumming with a pick? Or point me to a previous video? I am still 'catching' strings on the 'up-strum' even when using a white, paper thin pick and when I try using a thicker pick, even worse. My pick seems to want to jump from my fingers and when I watch you, your pick looks so relaxed in your fingers!
    Apologies for the lengthy comment/question!!

i’d really like help building left hand strength for barre or power chords. i’m out of practice and have heaps of old bad habits like gripping too hard (which is why i don’t try barre chords they’re too buzzy) i just do power chords... also building right hand strength and speed eg, palm muting, that can get tiring quickly especially if it’s a bit too fast...also. those fancy strums... i don’t know what they’re called, like triplets, like you hear in flamenco.

Heyy... I am comfortable with open chords transition, but things get worse when there is a transition from open chord to bar chord, and also from one bar chord of E major form to another bar chord of A major chord.. I have absolutely no clue that to do. Please help...
    Thanks...
