I feel ya I was also disappointed that they took out the gas station beatdown from the episode but believe leave me that he majority of anime only viewers and some LN readers were in tears through the whole episode claiming its the best episode in the series I can guess its because of episode numbers being 11 instead of 12 which includes the epilogue which was also teased in the opening who knows that last episode might be 40 minutes instead of 20 I still dont get why the first season had 25 and the others had 24 ive tried to find out the opinions of ppl with the alice irl and all they can interpret is that alice makes it out of the UW nothing else its best that the details are kept hidden
@@mikef.gonzalez655 I recommend the anime studio producing more episodes to explain the story properly to us. If not we should make the episodes instead of them. It's sad if a nicely written story is half explained when adapted into an anime. I believe that due to the limited duration of an episode have to explained the story can be resolve by making more episodes with creative story telling. The budget, I don't we can do anything about it because we are only viewers. Lastly the author should direct the anime as it's his story anyway and he knows what should be cut out and what's important to the story. Along the way, he can also get ideas on how to improve the way the adaptations from novel to anime works which would allow us viewers to enjoy the story just by watching the anime.

In my opinion it was the best episode of the Alicizantion arc. I waited so long to see Asuna and Yuuki's scene. I really cried a lot watching it. It was beautiful to see this scene finally being adapted.
@@doomy_doomy2225 This scene was what I most expected to see since I read the novels. Yuuki and Asuna are my favorite characters. I love their friendship. They are like soul sisters. I think this scene represents this connection well so I get emotional easily.
@@seanelennon56 was there build up in the light novel for it? The anime just cut straight to it without any build up. Like in that scene I personally feel like it would have made more sense for the spirit of Eugeo to push her forward from the blue rose sword being next to Kirito. Like her connection to Kirito gave her the strength to stand. I don't understand the Yuki card again. I'm anime only so I just saw it as fan serve since we saw it in ordinal scale. I am not cultured in the ways of light novels lol. Glad you enjoyed it and it made you happy.
There wasn't a specific build up for the moment per se, but the biggest benefit of the Light Novel is that you have lived through the hell through Asuna's eyes with all her inner monologues of how she got more and more broken overtime. So once the vibrant voice of Yuuki comes to break that despair, that hits home.
ENHANCE ARMAMENT Those memories in kirito head was literally hit him down. I could feel the biggest pain that he shoulder it from season 1 until now. And last but not least , when yuuki appeared before asuna was made me really astounded!
The fact that in the nightmare sequence there are also the scenes about Kirito vs Oberon and Kirito vs ZaZa, in my opinion it’s not because he regrets those moments. For me these sequences symbolized that even his eroic acts where he saves Asuna and a lot of other people cannot overcome his regrets about the death of Sachi or Eugeo etc. That’s my thoughts.
I get you, Asuna's mother rosario gave me a chill when I read it, but it wasn't the same way when watching it and I couldn't put my finger on why, but now that you brought it up, I'd have loved seeing a reenact of Yuuki vs Asuna ;'( And the reused footage was quite poor, it broke my immersion in the EP hard time, couldn't help to start wondering if a first person view or some other kind of thing would have felt more emotional... Still I let it all go in the final minutes of the episode, the incarned hand scene was great. Even though the anime skipped most of Kirito's nightmare/memories sequence [Kirito's friend, being at the shop etc.] , this is the best episode of War of Underworld part 2 so far (for me at least). We got to see Mother's rosario, epic animations and The Return of The God. Edit: Blue rose sword's enchance armament was shown poorly. Where is the shot of whole red army being stuck in the ice?! That was very powerful incarnation (It froze 20000 of the players i believe?), Anime really downplayed it,
Yeah, I was gonna mention there being 0 wide shots of the massacre, but I trimmed that out too like some other minor stuff. They sounded more like "nitpicks" compared to all the stuff I went into in the video.
As an anime only fan, I do agree with you. I wish they didn't remove that much from the Nightmare sequence. I still felt Kirito's pain in this episode, but it would've hit a home run if the nightmare sequence was adapted completely. Well, no going back now since the episode aired🤷. I mean if they gave yuuki that much screen time. Why not do the same with characters in Kirito's flashback such as Sachi...... They at least could've shown how Sachi's death broke him... Or when Sachi sang Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer to him.... Or they could've at least made Sachi talk.......
As a novel reader, would I have preferred Kirito's school friend and Coper be included in the nightmare? Of course. Am I triggered about it? Nowhere near as much as a number of other book readers are.
DeathGun made no sense I'll agree, but the Oberon thing I believe it was more of the fact that he took pleasure by torturing him and that is what he regrets, or maybe that in those fights he lost control of himself acting only on instinct and he doesn't like that, maybe.
He didn’t regret that if anything what he did with Oberon and Kayaba(75th floor) is probably similar to what he would wish had happened during the moments he regrets. That’s probably why only Eugeo is the one that woke Kirito up, because the death of Eugeo is one he deeply regrets and his most recent regret. So Kirito asks if he can still stand with others. Eugeo says yes everyone is waiting. When Asuna, Sinon, and Suguha appear he denies their light because he thinks they’re better off without him and he doesn’t deserve to come back.

RedLupus He didn’t regret the fight with Kayaba because of what Kirito was fighting for and what he would lose if he didn’t fight(but mostly because Kayaba was the cause of most of Kirito’s pain at that moment). NOT because it was a clearcut battle. That fight wasn’t even a clearcut battle the only reason Kirito won was of willpower and luck. Kirito fears the need to be “The Black Swordsman” his survival persona than “loosing control” because that persona came from a lot of pain and darkness. That persona only cares about two things protection and survival. Which can lead to death of those he is fighting like in the Laughing Coffin raid. Kuradeel(probably misspelt this name) wasn’t a Kirito loses control moment it’s an I have to save Asuna even if I kill someone protecting her moment. Those are heat in the moment killings which is different than losing control killing. If Kirito truly lost control than he would have killed more people than he did. He only killed on accident or in Kayaba’s and Quinella’s case as the last stand/fight.
Kirito also regretted more than killing, like the boy that he met online and didn’t help when the boy was bullied. Cutting off(socially)his family when he found he was adopted. The first day incident and leaving Klein etc.
@@doctorchoicetheunchainedx7523 Ok, first, yes the clear cut battle thing I actually forgot to delete and was too lazy to edit out, so I'll give you that point as it made nonsense in my part, second, ok, I can see your point about the persona, although again, that is him mostly acting on instinct, even while protecting Asuna, so for me, it means no or very little control, so much so that these are things he suppresses, also I never said he only regretted that, I just pointed out that the things showed were things that he already had said he regretted earlier on even back in the GGO season or things that were obvious that he would regret, I'm going by the anime here, as I have yet to start on the VN, otherwise we mostly agree besides the part about him losing control.

Enhance armament! When I watched the episode, I went in with the knowledge of “nightmare scene is regrets” and I’m just there questioning why he regrets his final fights of fairy dance and phantom bullet
A1 pictures doesn't want to confuse us so they show us familiar scenes we watched before but they confuse us even more as it doesn't relate to kirito's pain. The whole oberon and death gun scenes felt like oberon and death gun were the one's suffering not kirito.
Enhance Armament I get cutting Coper, but at the very least, the middle school friend scene should have stayed in. The Oberon and Sterben scenes could have gone and that could have fit instead. That's really my only complaint, great episode overall. I assume next week will go until Kirito meets (LN spoilers below) Gabe and the last battle begins.
Santi Sanchez they definitely should not have cut the friend that was dumb because that’s kind of ware the story began. even though I don’t think it’s even mentioned if they make a sao progressive anime I hope that they do a short anime only Scene just to have it adapted they could probably do that with copper as well

Yeah, I thought the two bits, ALO and GGO, were odd choices. The only possible guess I have on that is just Kirito hating taking out any player when he's serious. I'm still not sure how much impact either of the two cut memories would have. You know, them trying to establish Kirito as starting out as a loner, in which case, "why would leaving that classmate to the bullies bother him". At least with Klein, it's after they know that their circumstances have drastically changed due to Kayaba's tutorial, so Kirito's concern then makes decidedly more sense on the surface of it. Also, at the very least, with no such scene earlier on, Coper would feel kind of random being dropped in now. And ironically, if it had more complete context, people would probably be more bothered by "why is Kirito feeling bad for a player who died by monsters when that player just tried to MPK him". I don't know that it was such an issue with the Asuna vs. PoH fight, that is, the use of Mother's Rosario not having the same "personal" treatment. The slow-mo probably doesn't work so well with the crazy fight art style, but putting that aside, unlike Yuuki, who was just being introduced at the time, there's plenty of history with PoH, and they've been going over that history the last few episodes in far more detail than anywhere else in the series. So Asuna just giving him a ruthless beatdown feels pretty satisfying, really. Anyway, I just hope we get those few Kirito and Asuna moments next episode before we go into the final fight. We both know they've cut too much of her content since Episode 12, so it would be really nice if they'd quit doing that.

I'm understanding that reference a lot more since reading about that deadly encounter that Kirito had with the black poncho man in the end of Progressive V4. Kind of wondering if the anime adaptation of Scherzo of the deep night will adapt it.... When I eventually see that movie online or on dvd or bluray

I liked this episode regardless of the cuts. Asuna's fight with PoH was cool too, even if it was dramatized, but I think Asuna deserved it. So many of her badass scenes in Underworld were cut out by A1, so I'll take anything I can get. Also, thanks for explaining how the angel wings appeared. I knew it was Incarnation, but I couldn't figure out where the mental image came from. It makes sense if Asuna viewed Yuuki as a guardian angel.

I don't think you are trying to hate the anime, in fact, you are doing this kind service to the community. I feel it's important to let people know the full context since anime tends to cut stuff here and there making things feels disconnected.
Enhance Armament. It's a shame they cut out the school friend and Coper. Also, I think the Sugou and Death Gun scenes were meant to reference ALO and GGO. "Endless sky in a land of fairies. Crimson bullets flying left and right in an evening wasteland". Then again, A1 could've just shown overhead shots of Yggdrasil and the BoB tournament grounds for that. Those clips could also be a reference to how much Kirito has had to endure across the series.
The additional attempt to try to kill Kirito himself, where he tries slit his throat with his sword (I thought that was what I read but I’ll go make sure) wasn’t as necessary and I agree that it wasn’t that big of a deal to cut out. I had my own personal headcanon (if that’s what I should call my interpretation) over that scene of the sword melting into black liquid. I would notice (mostly in Progressive) how sao makes the characters more attached to their swords rather than just seeing them as only weapons. Kirito (in Progressive, from what I remember) would talk about his sword as if he had a partnership type of bond. What I imagined was was his sword, as his partner, would not let him get hurt even if it was done by himself. Instead the sword melted to prevent that.....just a thought...
I am still in disbelief that Niji no Kanata was not used when Eugeo appeared in the Nightmare sequence. User TheBoyWqnder made the edit on the SAO subreddit, the time from when Eugeo first speaks to the moment Kirito wakes up and the screen fades to white, fits to the second to NnK until the end of the first chorus. It's as if A-1 intended to insert it but made a last minute change for god knows the reason
still the song "Ame ni utaeba" from ReoNa (special edition) would come up, I advise you to listen it used a melody that was similar to the one played in "Niji no kanata ni"
Imo i thought the asuna vs poh fight was absolutely magnificent, the animation, mother's rosario, yuuki, and the sao II soundtrack was all i needed for me to love it.
Wasn't Asuna using «Mother's Rosario»? I don't remember it having that much jumping around the place. So did Asuna use incarnation to change or enhance her Sword skill just like Kirito did with Starburst Stream?
It's the "anime effect". It was simply 5 diagonal thrusts, 5 more from the other side and then one devastating thrust right from the middle. That's part of the reason of my issues with the depiction.

If A1 pictures had not made all the mistakes as stated in the video and been creative with the good stuffs they managed to adapt well, this episode would have become a perfect masterpiece. I disagree with 'confuse anime viewers only' because I was also an anime viewer when I first started watching SAO season 1. Later I read the novels and wiki to gain a better understanding of the story as many details were cut out in anime. I also found kirito has a personality. My point is they should try to explain kirito's pain to let us understand the pain he is going through. A story should also be narrated properly to guide the viewers not confused them.

Enhance Armament! Although the nightmare scene choices of GGO and Fairy King were weird choices, I thought that the nightmare sequence was well done. Some suggestions that I can say for those changes is instead of Kirito beating the Fairy King, they should of shown Kirito’s inner struggles of murder instead when he placed the knife at Sugo’s throat in the real world. In the Death Gun scene, instead of Kirito beating up Death Gun, they should of replaced it with Kirito’s PTSD that death gun gave him when they first met. The Coper scene being cut off could make sense as it could cause confusion among everyone. However, Kirito’s irl friend being bullied should be kept in as it builds upon Kirito’s guilt in the real world and not only in the VR. A1 should redo the scene for LN readers and make 2 versions tbh. The ending part of the nightmare scene was well done, well adapted once Eugeo appeared.
I remembered reading a moment with asuna they cut out asuna explaining mother Rosario being inherited by undine account from ALO and not by Stacia and remembering yuki from her memories and finally using mother Rosario now watching the episode a second time now I know what was cut and changed this episode was amazing I loved it so much asuna using absolute sword against poh it was animated and adapted beautifully I loved the music as well

Some did get cut in earlier episodes back in Part 1, for example when Asuna's arm was cut, she didnt regenerate it instantly. Took a while until they retreated to the carriage and Kirito was trying to reach out to her because she was hurt. That's when she healed it to make sure Kirito was no longer worried.
Enhance Armament honestly, i agree. You kept hinting at the nightmare sequences, and I was actually kind of hyped for it. It was something that seemed different from the rest of SAO, so for them to cut it out is geniunely disappointing, because, like, i know the he regrets what happened to sachi and keita, but *who else* has he failed to save? I would've preferred that over the sachi scene, personally. Woulda conveyed it better, as it's seemingly just some random people, but to Kirito, they are not. Oh well, I'll just wait for nightmares explained. Next episode should be good, so looking forward to it.

Enhance ARMAMENTÓ I gotta say because I saw the episode like 5h late I knew about the cuts and the opinions of some LN readers. Wich obviously lowered my expectations of the episode. But I gotta say that worked on the episode's favour for me. I knew all the things that were "wrong" with the episode and even cringed at Oberon and Death Gun's bit for the same reason as everyone else but beyond that didn't have too much of an issue,with the rest of it. For me Kirito's coming back was HYPE AF. I get super hyped up by Kirito and Eugeo saying Enhance ARMAMENTÓ and I even got emotional at some parts- RIP Yuuki & Eugeo. Ignoring the problems the rest of the episode was 10/10 for me (except that bit where Asuna went super Saiyan, that's well out of character for the SAO Universe & where the hell did Ronie come from to catch Sortiliena?). As a kind of Anime Only guy I got very satisfied with the episode but I still don't know about the rest of the community, gotta wait for the Reddit Week Ranking. Great episode as well Turk! I never mind hearing your opinions and feelings on the show positive or negative!

I totally agree with your review. This was the most anticipated episode of the whole season, I waited desperately for it to come but after seeing the episode, I was disappointed. Well may be if I hadn't read this part of light novel thrice or haven't been waiting for this episode from the start of this season, I wouldn't have felt this way. Just as you said, it could have been a fabulous episode if they have covered the nightmare sequence and Kirito pain more thoroughly but currently it can only be considered OK episode.
Coper wasn't in here mostly because he wasn't in anime season1 (well, that's what I think to myself anyway). This season's screenwriting has been 'If it was in the anime previously, reuse it. If it wasn't in the anime, screw adapting that(Coper, bullied schoolmate, how Poh got here) Also let the characters say every line they did in the novels, but we're not gonna go into why said it that much'

The episode where Kirito was having nightmares made me cry but when Kirito awakens, I didnt see his black swordsman attire and not holding his shining night sky, that disappoints me plus how short the fight between asuna vs PoH is(I know the fight in the light novel is short but I'm bearing that they make it longer)I mean the animation is really godly but the more talk in the fight is just disappointing. (Sorry for my bad grammar, also it's been a while since I read the light novel so I forgotten about it lol)

Hmm, I did read the fan translation of V18, so I somewhat remember part of Kirito's nightmare sequence and may inaccurate as I'm more of visual guy, I hardly visual with lots of text. That's why I don't like reading novels as a whole. It was at the start in the school that Kirito sees a guy who was being beaten by some delinquent. That's guy I believe is Kirito's friend, or an acquaintance with him somehow, I don't remember. But despite the circumstance, Kirito leave and abandon him. I believe the scene kinda show how he was before the SAO incident, Kirito was an anti-social, who almost had no care to other, and whenever there is someone who he has relationship with, he would destroy that relationship without a second thought. I don't know why he regret about Copen in the First Day story, he try to betray Kirito and almost got him killed. But his selfishness get the better of him and make him got killed instead by some plant monsters. I know that his death remind Kirito that whoever dies in the game, dies in real life, making him try so hard to survive and wanting to return to Suguha. It's a waste that the anime didn't adapt this story and this is the perfect opportunity to shortly adapt it. But no, instead we got 2 scenes where it had nothing to do with the nightmare about all of his regret in the past.
Not even just survivors guilt, as Coper actively tried to lead him to his death. It's more that he cannot come to terms with actually causing a life to be snuffed out. Even in early progressives when fighting PoH's minions like Morte, with his life on the line, he is not able to go for a kill despite getting the upper hand in many points.

Well, Gamerturk, I follow the Alicization Explained videos and I really enjoy the content you produce. However, this time, I disagree with one of your interpretations in the video. In the scene where Eugeo and Alice cross Kirito's path, I don't see how they are added there just because they are "important" to Kirito itself. In reality, I believe that the director's purpose here is to illustrate the character's progress that has been lost a bit with the cuts in the parking scene and the Days of Begginings scene (especially the first). We all know that Kirito's personality before Sword Art Online is somewhat apathetic. The parking scene, in particular, shows how isolated and introverted he was, not getting too involved with most people. This gradually changes with his experiences within the game of death and other VRMMOs, where he learns to bond with other people, starts to care more strongly about those around him, etc. In particular, his development reminds me a lot of that of Satoru Fujinuma, Boku Dake ga inai Machi, but that is out of the question. In this sense, I believe that the goal of Alice and Eugeo being in Kirito's nightmare is because the school scene takes place before the launch of SAO, when Kirito maintained this apathetic and antisocial personality. We see that, after building his personality during all VR experiences, he starts to interact and get closer to people, and this, for example, is what he does with Eugeo and Alice in Underworld. He shows empathy for both and creates bonds, although Eugeo is extremely more important than Alice. So, I think the director wanted to illustrate Kirito from before the game of death, which, if he met both characters, would not develop any closeness to them and ignore them, like any other people. Personally, I don't like to attribute these decisions to marketing or Alice's placement to "please shippers". And, of course, these scenes do not replace what was cut, but at least they would convey a similar idea. However, this is just one interpretation that I would like to share.

I’m an anime only fan, so my expectations about Kirito’s awakening were that Asuna, being the most important person and the true love for Kirito, would have had a major part in his awakening. TBH after watching the episode, i think that the fact that Eugeo was the major factor in his awakening is fitting with all of what we saw in Alicization and also shows the importance that Eugeo has for Kirito so i’m not complaining about it. So at the end of the day Asuna has had the same importance as Sinon or Sugu for Kirito and for the story development. So i have 2 questions. 1. Will Asuna get a major role in the ending of the war? I mean, it’s pretty clear, thanks to the opening, that she will fight with Alice and Kirito against Subtilizer (i haven’t watched your opening explained video so that’s just my thoughts) but she will have a very major role or just some scenes here and there? 2. Will the relationship between Asuna and Kirito get a development or will remains the same as in Ep 1 of Alicization where Kirito tells her that he wants to go study in America and ask her to come with him?

I think you're kinda underplaying the significance of a couple things: The nightmare sequence starting in the classroom and having emphasis on a pre-launch SAO. The Oberon and Death Gun memories. Let's start with my first point. I think the nightmare sequence starting in a pre-launch SAO era is meant to signify how crucial SAO is to Kirito's character and development. In every arc, where Kirito is the/a central protagonist, SAO came back to him. In Fairy Dance it was mainly Kayaba aiding him against Oberon and giving him the Seed. Phantom Bullet is obvious, Death Gun represents Kirito's inner demons of the lives he took while in Aincrad. Ordinal Scale's entire plot hinges on the memories of SAO Survivors. Alicization he teaches Eugeo "Aincrad Style" and he fully accepts his SAO self (for lack of a better term, need to rewatch Alicization's first two cours to make a more cohesive argument). Despite Coper not being present in the anime, the nightmare sequence starting in a pre-launch SAO era is still important, since it signifies such a sudden a drastic change to Kirito's life. Now for Oberon and Death Gun's inclusion. I believe that Oberon and Death Gun's inclusion In the nightmare sequence isn't showing that those are memories he regrets, but certain aspects of those memories haunt him. Remember, ALO's pain absorber system allowed Kirito to essentially torture Oberon. He may have done it to save Asuna, but regardless of Oberon deserving it, Kirito still caused a great deal of physical harm and pain to Oberon. His fight with Death Gun he also doesn't regret, however the Death Gun and Laughing Coffin groups are figures that haunt him as they represent the demons of his past, that he killed multiple people in Aincrad. Death Gun appearing in the nightmare sequence is derivative of Xaxa and PoH's characters, those being beings that are significant of Kirito's 'sins' in Aincrad. Aside from that, I think all your criticisms are valid. As a somewhat anime-only (I have the Aincrad 1 manga and Progressive vol001 & main series vol006 novels) hearing about Coper, yeah they should've included him. Reusing animation was kinda lazy. I don't mind it, but Asuna v PoH was very Shoun-y. However, your status as a light novel reader doesn't really change the fact that the anime additions/changes still have significance and meaning, and although you recognize that for the vast majority of the time, I think you just didn't bother to like beyond surface level for the changes in the nightmare sequence. Still love your channel though
I think you misunderstood my point. I never said anything about starting pre-SAO, SAO defines Kirito. The point I made was specifically directed at the middleschool. The significance of the school is solely the friend he abandoned to the bullies and nothing more, making the entire classroom/school to be meaningless when cut out. So I hope this clarifies my take there.

Regardless, keeping your point in mind, if SAO released while Kirito was in middle school, it kinda has to start in the time if it wants draw attention to his life before SAO no? In the anime's context, the school days seem to have a different meaning, that Kirito was just living an average life them SAO came and his life changed. By simply being an adaptation, the anime has to make changes, but for better or for worse, they still have plot and character relevance, or at last that's my interpretation of someone who hasn't read a good majority of the novels
We didn't even see anything from his life though, let alone a reaction to the existence of SAO. If anything, the SAO Narration on the billboard would have done the same without costing as much time. They tried to repurpose the scene to feature Alice and Eugeo, but even that amounted to nothing. The "journey" aspect, along with the school itself served no purpose on their own, they were simply left as mirages of what the journey was thought originally. Yeah, Anime does make a lot of changes and that's why I call it out when it is a change for the worse. For example, for Season 1, they made Reki write a story so they could have a transition story before the side stories were covered, which ended up being the Floor 1 boss story, Aria of a Starless Night. Did you know it was a story about Asuna, who was crying at the Inn she was staying at for 3 weeks and eventually got sick of it and decided to lunge into a dungeon in hopes of dying? The story was completely about Asuna seeing a different perspective of the world. The anime cut it all out and made the story about "Kirito acting cool and saving everyone". These are the kind of stuff the anime does when it makes these large cuts.

If I see this from the perspective of an anime watcher, then it was the best episode for me. As I have read the LNs, I have already expected the nightmare sequence to have these butchering issue, because in the past we never saw a perfect adaption of a sequence along with its context. A-1 gives great animation but doesn't do the execution of the episodes correctly. And I can't keep my hopes up for that. But I did enjoy the episode very much. I wish the nightmare could make me a little bit more emotional there, the anime didn't convey that well, I think. Tbh, I didn't even think of those powerpoint presentation scenes as in the light novels the scene was briefly explained using one line for one incident, but goddamn why did they show us unnecessary Oberon scene, what were the animators and the director thinking when they included this? He basically told the system that his hand was in front of PoH. Enhance armament! Its normal to be disapointed after they cut out a big part of one of the most important scenes in this arc. As an anime only viewer, after watching this episode I felt it was just "good" and thats not enough, it had to be "amazing" and I guess the problem was the cut content of the nightmare and the Asuna fight with PoH. The fight was cool and so but it wasnt as good as Bercouli's maybe because as you said they just focus on lights and jumps and it didnt feel personal.

And yes I didn't understand why Kirito was in the classroom and I didn't remember the name of the guy who blamed Kirito and killed himself. But I remember that it happend and effected Kirito deeply. So did I get this right and Kirito felt no guilt for beating up Sugou and Death Gun? They didn't die in reality so I don't see why Kirito should feel sorry.
Seeing Asuna, Suguha and Sinon (who he knows them a long time ago) didn't stop Kirito from ripping his own heart, but seeing Eugeon (basicly an A.I. who is a blone Kirito with green eyes) did stop him? Kirito must be really bicurious. And him seeing crying for killing four insane psychopaths is for me either stupid as hell or comedy gold.
well, from ppl who he did favors to, he cannot believe from the bottom of the heart that he is innocent. He thinks Eugeo's death is his fault, or to be more exact, he should have died. This thought resulted in his negative Incarnation and his current state. so yeah, eugeo was pretty much one of the many things he regreted and he was able to fix it. the other 3 were pretty much there for his selfimage, not for him accepting things as they are. thats why he didnt just wake up from the 3, but ended up in that nightmare scene
It was added to show his savagery. To show him piercing a guys head without remorse (he deserved it but still), to showing him without mercy cutting a character in half. It was there to show us the viewer how he views himself. As a brute and failure who doesn’t deserve to live. That was my interpretation anyways.

I feel ya I was also disappointed that they took out the gas station beatdown from the episode but believe leave me that he majority of anime only viewers and some LN readers were in tears through the whole episode claiming its the best episode in the series I can guess its because of episode numbers being 11 instead of 12 which includes the epilogue which was also teased in the opening who knows that last episode might be 40 minutes instead of 20 I still dont get why the first season had 25 and the others had 24 ive tried to find out the opinions of ppl with the alice irl and all they can interpret is that alice makes it out of the UW nothing else its best that the details are kept hidden
@@mikef.gonzalez655 I recommend the anime studio producing more episodes to explain the story properly to us. If not we should make the episodes instead of them. It's sad if a nicely written story is half explained when adapted into an anime.
I believe that due to the limited duration of an episode have to explained the story can be resolve by making more episodes with creative story telling. The budget, I don't we can do anything about it because we are only viewers.
Lastly the author should direct the anime as it's his story anyway and he knows what should be cut out and what's important to the story. Along the way, he can also get ideas on how to improve the way the adaptations from novel to anime works which would allow us viewers to enjoy the story just by watching the anime.

In my opinion it was the best episode of the Alicizantion arc. I waited so long to see Asuna and Yuuki's scene. I really cried a lot watching it. It was beautiful to see this scene finally being adapted.

Like in that scene I personally feel like it would have made more sense for the spirit of Eugeo to push her forward from the blue rose sword being next to Kirito. Like her connection to Kirito gave her the strength to stand. I don't understand the Yuki card again. I'm anime only so I just saw it as fan serve since we saw it in ordinal scale. I am not cultured in the ways of light novels lol. Glad you enjoyed it and it made you happy.
There wasn't a specific build up for the moment per se, but the biggest benefit of the Light Novel is that you have lived through the hell through Asuna's eyes with all her inner monologues of how she got more and more broken overtime. So once the vibrant voice of Yuuki comes to break that despair, that hits home.

The fact that in the nightmare sequence there are also the scenes about Kirito vs Oberon and Kirito vs ZaZa, in my opinion it’s not because he regrets those moments. For me these sequences symbolized that even his eroic acts where he saves Asuna and a lot of other people cannot overcome his regrets about the death of Sachi or Eugeo etc. That’s my thoughts.

I get you, Asuna's mother rosario gave me a chill when I read it, but it wasn't the same way when watching it and I couldn't put my finger on why, but now that you brought it up, I'd have loved seeing a reenact of Yuuki vs Asuna ;'(
And the reused footage was quite poor, it broke my immersion in the EP hard time, couldn't help to start wondering if a first person view or some other kind of thing would have felt more emotional... Still I let it all go in the final minutes of the episode, the incarned hand scene was great.

Even though the anime skipped most of Kirito's nightmare/memories sequence [Kirito's friend, being at the shop etc.] , this is the best episode of War of Underworld part 2 so far (for me at least). We got to see Mother's rosario, epic animations and The Return of The God.
Edit: Blue rose sword's enchance armament was shown poorly. Where is the shot of whole red army being stuck in the ice?! That was very powerful incarnation (It froze 20000 of the players i believe?), Anime really downplayed it,

Yeah, I was gonna mention there being 0 wide shots of the massacre, but I trimmed that out too like some other minor stuff. They sounded more like "nitpicks" compared to all the stuff I went into in the video.
As an anime only fan, I do agree with you. I wish they didn't remove that much from the Nightmare sequence. I still felt Kirito's pain in this episode, but it would've hit a home run if the nightmare sequence was adapted completely. Well, no going back now since the episode aired🤷. As a novel reader, would I have preferred Kirito's school friend and Coper be included in the nightmare? Of course. Am I triggered about it? Nowhere near as much as a number of other book readers are.

DeathGun made no sense I'll agree, but the Oberon thing I believe it was more of the fact that he took pleasure by torturing him and that is what he regrets, or maybe that in those fights he lost control of himself acting only on instinct and he doesn't like that, maybe.
He didn’t regret that if anything what he did with Oberon and Kayaba(75th floor) is probably similar to what he would wish had happened during the moments he regrets. That’s probably why only Eugeo is the one that woke Kirito up, because the death of Eugeo is one he deeply regrets and his most recent regret. So Kirito asks if he can still stand with others. Eugeo says yes everyone is waiting. When Asuna, Sinon, and Suguha appear he denies their light because he thinks they’re better off without him and he doesn’t deserve to come back.
@@doctorchoicetheunchainedx7523 Kinda, I could say that he didn`t feel that he deserved to stand by their side because he regrets how he acted, him regretting that as well as the moments where he didn`t act, are not mutually exclusive, also note that Kayaba wasn't there, he doesn't regret that, because it was a clearcut battle, it wasn't him losing control and killing someone like with the launching coffing people and the guy that tried to kill him and Assuna, killing Kayaba wasn't optional, these others were, Kirito is not a sociopath or psychopath, killing and torturing people have an effect on him.
RedLupus He didn’t regret the fight with Kayaba because of what Kirito was fighting for and what he would lose if he didn’t fight(but mostly because Kayaba was the cause of most of Kirito’s pain at that moment). NOT because it was a clearcut battle. That fight wasn’t even a clearcut battle the only reason Kirito won was of willpower and luck. Kirito fears the need to be “The Black Swordsman” his survival persona than “loosing control” because that persona came from a lot of pain and darkness. That persona only cares about two things protection and survival. Which can lead to death of those he is fighting like in the Laughing Coffin raid. Kuradeel(probably misspelt this name) wasn’t a Kirito loses control moment it’s an I have to save Asuna even if I kill someone protecting her moment. Those are heat in the moment killings which is different than losing control killing. If Kirito truly lost control than he would have killed more people than he did. He only killed on accident or in Kayaba’s and Quinella’s case as the last stand/fight.
Kirito also regretted more than killing, like the boy that he met online and didn’t help when the boy was bullied. Cutting off(socially)his family when he found he was adopted. The first day incident and leaving Klein etc.
@@doctorchoicetheunchainedx7523 Ok, first, yes the clear cut battle thing I actually forgot to delete and was too lazy to edit out, so I'll give you that point as it made nonsense in my part, second, ok, I can see your point about the persona, although again, that is him mostly acting on instinct, even while protecting Asuna, so for me, it means no or very little control, so much so that these are things he suppresses, also I never said he only regretted that, I just pointed out that the things showed were things that he already had said he regretted earlier on even back in the GGO season or things that were obvious that he would regret, I'm going by the anime here, as I have yet to start on the VN, otherwise we mostly agree besides the part about him losing control.

When I watched the episode, I went in with the knowledge of “nightmare scene is regrets” and I’m just there questioning why he regrets his final fights of fairy dance and phantom bullet
A1 pictures doesn't want to confuse us so they show us familiar scenes we watched before but they confuse us even more as it doesn't relate to kirito's pain.
The whole oberon and death gun scenes felt like oberon and death gun were the one's suffering not kirito.

I get cutting Coper, but at the very least, the middle school friend scene should have stayed in. The Oberon and Sterben scenes could have gone and that could have fit instead. That's really my only complaint, great episode overall. I assume next week will go until Kirito meets (LN spoilers below)

Yeah, I thought the two bits, ALO and GGO, were odd choices. The only possible guess I have on that is just Kirito hating taking out any player when he's serious.
I'm still not sure how much impact either of the two cut memories would have. You know, them trying to establish Kirito as starting out as a loner, in which case, "why would leaving that classmate to the bullies bother him". At least with Klein, it's after they know that their circumstances have drastically changed due to Kayaba's tutorial, so Kirito's concern then makes decidedly more sense on the surface of it.
Also, at the very least, with no such scene earlier on, Coper would feel kind of random being dropped in now. And ironically, if it had more complete context, people would probably be more bothered by "why is Kirito feeling bad for a player who died by monsters when that player just tried to MPK him".
I don't know that it was such an issue with the Asuna vs. PoH fight, that is, the use of Mother's Rosario not having the same "personal" treatment. The slow-mo probably doesn't work so well with the crazy fight art style, but putting that aside, unlike Yuuki, who was just being introduced at the time, there's plenty of history with PoH, and they've been going over that history the last few episodes in far more detail than anywhere else in the series. So Asuna just giving him a ruthless beatdown feels pretty satisfying, really.
Anyway, I just hope we get those few Kirito and Asuna moments next episode before we go into the final fight. We both know they've cut too much of her content since Episode 12, so it would be really nice if they'd quit doing that.

I liked this episode regardless of the cuts. Asuna's fight with PoH was cool too, even if it was dramatized, but I think Asuna deserved it. So many of her badass scenes in Underworld were cut out by A1, so I'll take anything I can get. Also, thanks for explaining how the angel wings appeared. I knew it was Incarnation, but I couldn't figure out where the mental image came from. It makes sense if Asuna viewed Yuuki as a guardian angel.

I don't think you are trying to hate the anime, in fact, you are doing this kind service to the community. I feel it's important to let people know the full context since anime tends to cut stuff here and there making things feels disconnected.

Enhance Armament. It's a shame they cut out the school friend and Coper. Also, I think the Sugou and Death Gun scenes were meant to reference ALO and GGO. "Endless sky in a land of fairies. Crimson bullets flying left and right in an evening wasteland". Then again, A1 could've just shown overhead shots of Yggdrasil and the BoB tournament grounds for that.
Those clips could also be a reference to how much Kirito has had to endure across the series.
The additional attempt to try to kill Kirito himself, where he tries slit his throat with his sword (I thought that was what I read but I’ll go make sure) wasn’t as necessary and I agree that it wasn’t that big of a deal to cut out. I had my own personal headcanon (if that’s what I should call my interpretation) over that scene of the sword melting into black liquid. I would notice (mostly in Progressive) how sao makes the characters more attached to their swords rather than just seeing them as only weapons. Kirito (in Progressive, from what I remember) would talk about his sword as if he had a partnership type of bond. What I imagined was was his sword, as his partner, would not let him get hurt even if it was done by himself. Instead the sword melted to prevent that.....just a thought...

Imo i thought the asuna vs poh fight was absolutely magnificent, the animation, mother's rosario, yuuki, and the sao II soundtrack was all i needed for me to love it.
Wasn't Asuna using «Mother's Rosario»? I don't remember it having that much jumping around the place. So did Asuna use incarnation to change or enhance her Sword skill just like Kirito did with Starburst Stream?
It's the "anime effect". It was simply 5 diagonal thrusts, 5 more from the other side and then one devastating thrust right from the middle. That's part of the reason of my issues with the depiction.

If A1 pictures had not made all the mistakes as stated in the video and been creative with the good stuffs they managed to adapt well, this episode would have become a perfect masterpiece.
I disagree with 'confuse anime viewers only' because I was also an anime viewer when I first started watching SAO season 1. Later I read the novels and wiki to gain a better understanding of the story as many details were cut out in anime. I also found kirito has a personality. My point is they should try to explain kirito's pain to let us understand the pain he is going through.
A story should also be narrated properly to guide the viewers not confused them.

Although the nightmare scene choices of GGO and Fairy King were weird choices, I thought that the nightmare sequence was well done. Some suggestions that I can say for those changes is instead of Kirito beating the Fairy King, they should of shown Kirito’s inner struggles of murder instead when he placed the knife at Sugo’s throat in the real world. In the Death Gun scene, instead of Kirito beating up Death Gun, they should of replaced it with Kirito’s PTSD that death gun gave him when they first met.
The Coper scene being cut off could make sense as it could cause confusion among everyone. However, Kirito’s irl friend being bullied should be kept in as it builds upon Kirito’s guilt in the real world and not only in the VR.
A1 should redo the scene for LN readers and make 2 versions tbh. The ending part of the nightmare scene was well done, well adapted once Eugeo appeared.

Some did get cut in earlier episodes back in Part 1, for example when Asuna's arm was cut, she didnt regenerate it instantly. Took a while until they retreated to the carriage and Kirito was trying to reach out to her because she was hurt. That's when she healed it to make sure Kirito was no longer worried.

honestly, i agree. You kept hinting at the nightmare sequences, and I was actually kind of hyped for it.
It was something that seemed different from the rest of SAO, so for them to cut it out is geniunely disappointing, because, like, i know the he regrets what happened to sachi and keita, but *who else* has he failed to save? I would've preferred that over the sachi scene, personally. Woulda conveyed it better, as it's seemingly just some random people, but to Kirito, they are not.
Oh well, I'll just wait for nightmares explained. Next episode should be good, so looking forward to it.

Didn't like that they skipped the Nightmare sequence. When they showed Oberon memory, I thought Kirito regretted Asuna being assaulted and for Death Gun, Sinon being assaulted. I thought they didn't show those scenes because they might get backlash for showing women getting assaulted.

I gotta say because I saw the episode like 5h late I knew about the cuts and the opinions of some LN readers. Wich obviously lowered my expectations of the episode. But I gotta say that worked on the episode's favour for me. I knew all the things that were "wrong" with the episode and even cringed at Oberon and Death Gun's bit for the same reason as everyone else but beyond that didn't have too much of an issue,with the rest of it.
For me Kirito's coming back was HYPE AF. I get super hyped up by Kirito and Eugeo saying Enhance ARMAMENTÓ and I even got emotional at some parts- RIP Yuuki & Eugeo. Ignoring the problems the rest of the episode was 10/10 for me (except that bit where Asuna went super Saiyan, that's well out of character for the SAO Universe & where the hell did Ronie come from to catch Sortiliena?). As a kind of Anime Only guy I got very satisfied with the episode but I still don't know about the rest of the community, gotta wait for the Reddit Week Ranking.

I totally agree with your review. This was the most anticipated episode of the whole season, I waited desperately for it to come but after seeing the episode, I was disappointed. Well may be if I hadn't read this part of light novel thrice or haven't been waiting for this episode from the start of this season, I wouldn't have felt this way. Just as you said, it could have been a fabulous episode if they have covered the nightmare sequence and Kirito pain more thoroughly but currently it can only be considered OK episode.

The episode where Kirito was having nightmares made me cry but when Kirito awakens, I didnt see his black swordsman attire and not holding his shining night sky, that disappoints me plus how short the fight between asuna vs PoH is(I know the fight in the light novel is short but I'm bearing that they make it longer)I mean the animation is really godly but the more talk in the fight is just disappointing.

Feeling disappointed in a scene you've been waiting for in the anime is a feeling I've had too many times. For lack of a better example, the last time I felt highly disappointed was with Meliodas vs Escanor from Seven Deadly Sins. Hmm, I did read the fan translation of V18, so I somewhat remember part of Kirito's nightmare sequence and may inaccurate as I'm more of visual guy, I hardly visual with lots of text. That's why I don't like reading novels as a whole. It was at the start in the school that Kirito sees a guy who was being beaten by some delinquent. That's guy I believe is Kirito's friend, or an acquaintance with him somehow, I don't remember. But despite the circumstance, Kirito leave and abandon him. I believe the scene kinda show how he was before the SAO incident, Kirito was an anti-social, who almost had no care to other, and whenever there is someone who he has relationship with, he would destroy that relationship without a second thought.
I don't know why he regret about Copen in the First Day story, he try to betray Kirito and almost got him killed. But his selfishness get the better of him and make him got killed instead by some plant monsters. I know that his death remind Kirito that whoever dies in the game, dies in real life, making him try so hard to survive and wanting to return to Suguha. It's a waste that the anime didn't adapt this story and this is the perfect opportunity to shortly adapt it. But no, instead we got 2 scenes where it had nothing to do with the nightmare about all of his regret in the past.
The reason Kirito regrets Coper's death is survivor's guilt.
Not even just survivors guilt, as Coper actively tried to lead him to his death. It's more that he cannot come to terms with actually causing a life to be snuffed out. Even in early progressives when fighting PoH's minions like Morte, with his life on the line, he is not able to go for a kill despite getting the upper hand in many points.

Well, Gamerturk, I follow the Alicization Explained videos and I really enjoy the content you produce. However, this time, I disagree with one of your interpretations in the video.
In the scene where Eugeo and Alice cross Kirito's path, I don't see how they are added there just because they are "important" to Kirito itself. In reality, I believe that the director's purpose here is to illustrate the character's progress that has been lost a bit with the cuts in the parking scene and the Days of Begginings scene (especially the first).
We all know that Kirito's personality before Sword Art Online is somewhat apathetic. The parking scene, in particular, shows how isolated and introverted he was, not getting too involved with most people. This gradually changes with his experiences within the game of death and other VRMMOs, where he learns to bond with other people, starts to care more strongly about those around him, etc. In particular, his development reminds me a lot of that of Satoru Fujinuma, Boku Dake ga inai Machi, but that is out of the question.
In this sense, I believe that the goal of Alice and Eugeo being in Kirito's nightmare is because the school scene takes place before the launch of SAO, when Kirito maintained this apathetic and antisocial personality. We see that, after building his personality during all VR experiences, he starts to interact and get closer to people, and this, for example, is what he does with Eugeo and Alice in Underworld. He shows empathy for both and creates bonds, although Eugeo is extremely more important than Alice. So, I think the director wanted to illustrate Kirito from before the game of death, which, if he met both characters, would not develop any closeness to them and ignore them, like any other people.
Personally, I don't like to attribute these decisions to marketing or Alice's placement to "please shippers". And, of course, these scenes do not replace what was cut, but at least they would convey a similar idea. However, this is just one interpretation that I would like to share.

I’m an anime only fan, so my expectations about Kirito’s awakening were that Asuna, being the most important person and the true love for Kirito, would have had a major part in his awakening. TBH after watching the episode, i think that the fact that Eugeo was the major factor in his awakening is fitting with all of what we saw in Alicization and also shows the importance that Eugeo has for Kirito so i’m not complaining about it.
So at the end of the day Asuna has had the same importance as Sinon or Sugu for Kirito and for the story development. So i have 2 questions.
1. Will Asuna get a major role in the ending of the war? I mean, it’s pretty clear, thanks to the opening, that she will fight with Alice and Kirito against Subtilizer (i haven’t watched your opening explained video so that’s just my thoughts) but she will have a very major role or just some scenes here and there?
2. Will the relationship between Asuna and Kirito get a development or will remains the same as in Ep 1 of Alicization where Kirito tells her that he wants to go study in America and ask her to come with him?
Im actually more interested to go more in depth to the point you brought up in the first paragraph than the questions themselves. Questions are easy, that first paragraph is important ;)

I think you're kinda underplaying the significance of a couple things:
The nightmare sequence starting in the classroom and having emphasis on a pre-launch SAO.
The Oberon and Death Gun memories.
Let's start with my first point.
I think the nightmare sequence starting in a pre-launch SAO era is meant to signify how crucial SAO is to Kirito's character and development. In every arc, where Kirito is the/a central protagonist, SAO came back to him.
In Fairy Dance it was mainly Kayaba aiding him against Oberon and giving him the Seed.
Phantom Bullet is obvious, Death Gun represents Kirito's inner demons of the lives he took while in Aincrad.
Ordinal Scale's entire plot hinges on the memories of SAO Survivors.
Alicization he teaches Eugeo "Aincrad Style" and he fully accepts his SAO self (for lack of a better term, need to rewatch Alicization's first two cours to make a more cohesive argument).
Despite Coper not being present in the anime, the nightmare sequence starting in a pre-launch SAO era is still important, since it signifies such a sudden a drastic change to Kirito's life.
Now for Oberon and Death Gun's inclusion.
I believe that Oberon and Death Gun's inclusion In the nightmare sequence isn't showing that those are memories he regrets, but certain aspects of those memories haunt him. Remember, ALO's pain absorber system allowed Kirito to essentially torture Oberon. He may have done it to save Asuna, but regardless of Oberon deserving it, Kirito still caused a great deal of physical harm and pain to Oberon. His fight with Death Gun he also doesn't regret, however the Death Gun and Laughing Coffin groups are figures that haunt him as they represent the demons of his past, that he killed multiple people in Aincrad. Death Gun appearing in the nightmare sequence is derivative of Xaxa and PoH's characters, those being beings that are significant of Kirito's 'sins' in Aincrad.
Aside from that, I think all your criticisms are valid. As a somewhat anime-only (I have the Aincrad 1 manga and Progressive vol001 & main series vol006 novels) hearing about Coper, yeah they should've included him. Reusing animation was kinda lazy. I don't mind it, but Asuna v PoH was very Shoun-y. However, your status as a light novel reader doesn't really change the fact that the anime additions/changes still have significance and meaning, and although you recognize that for the vast majority of the time, I think you just didn't bother to like beyond surface level for the changes in the nightmare sequence.

I think you misunderstood my point. I never said anything about starting pre-SAO, SAO defines Kirito. The point I made was specifically directed at the middleschool. The significance of the school is solely the friend he abandoned to the bullies and nothing more, making the entire classroom/school to be meaningless when cut out. So I hope this clarifies my take there.

Regardless, keeping your point in mind, if SAO released while Kirito was in middle school, it kinda has to start in the time if it wants draw attention to his life before SAO no? In the anime's context, the school days seem to have a different meaning, that Kirito was just living an average life them SAO came and his life changed.
By simply being an adaptation, the anime has to make changes, but for better or for worse, they still have plot and character relevance, or at last that's my interpretation of someone who hasn't read a good majority of the novels
We didn't even see anything from his life though, let alone a reaction to the existence of SAO. If anything, the SAO Narration on the billboard would have done the same without costing as much time. They tried to repurpose the scene to feature Alice and Eugeo, but even that amounted to nothing. The "journey" aspect, along with the school itself served no purpose on their own, they were simply left as mirages of what the journey was thought originally.
Yeah, Anime does make a lot of changes and that's why I call it out when it is a change for the worse. For example, for Season 1, they made Reki write a story so they could have a transition story before the side stories were covered, which ended up being the Floor 1 boss story, Aria of a Starless Night. Did you know it was a story about Asuna, who was crying at the Inn she was staying at for 3 weeks and eventually got sick of it and decided to lunge into a dungeon in hopes of dying? The story was completely about Asuna seeing a different perspective of the world. The anime cut it all out and made the story about "Kirito acting cool and saving everyone". These are the kind of stuff the anime does when it makes these large cuts.

If I see this from the perspective of an anime watcher, then it was the best episode for me. As I have read the LNs, I have already expected the nightmare sequence to have these butchering issue, because in the past we never saw a perfect adaption of a sequence along with its context. A-1 gives great animation but doesn't do the execution of the episodes correctly. And I can't keep my hopes up for that. But I did enjoy the episode very much. I wish the nightmare could make me a little bit more emotional there, the anime didn't convey that well, I think.
Tbh, I didn't even think of those powerpoint presentation scenes as in the light novels the scene was briefly explained using one line for one incident, but goddamn why did they show us unnecessary Oberon scene, what were the animators and the director thinking when they included this? Just what did they think of this scene reading from the books?😑 I really wanna know that.

3) What was that crazy hand incarnation Kirito did, and was that explained in the light novels?
4) Did Leafa ever get a 1 on 1 with potato Kirito like Asuna and Sinon did? The anime didn’t give it to us.
5) Still curious on what happens to all the converted accounts after the underworld stuff ends?
6) Alice doesn’t have a body to go to in the Real World... unless she uses one of the military Robots! Haha. ...right?
1) Renly is with Asuna. Fanatio is at the end of the ravine of the Eastern Gate.
2) Just like Administrator (attempted) to eject herself from underworld.
3) This was explained in the video. He basically told the system that his hand was in front of PoH. That's what was in the system so a hand to placed there but would go away once the system realized it wasn't supposed to.
4) No, Leafa stays up north the entire time

Enhance armament! Its normal to be disapointed after they cut out a big part of one of the most important scenes in this arc. As an anime only viewer, after watching this episode I felt it was just "good" and thats not enough, it had to be "amazing" and I guess the problem was the cut content of the nightmare and the Asuna fight with PoH. The fight was cool and so but it wasnt as good as Bercouli's maybe because as you said they just focus on lights and jumps and it didnt feel personal.

I really liked the Episode but I'm not triggered that you are disappointed. If I knew the LightNovel I would most likely agree but I'm still at Volume 2. And yes I didn't understand why Kirito was in the classroom and I didn't remember the name of the guy who blamed Kirito and killed himself. But I remember that it happend and effected Kirito deeply.
So did I get this right and Kirito felt no guilt for beating up Sugou and Death Gun? They didn't die in reality so I don't see why Kirito should feel sorry.

Seeing Asuna, Suguha and Sinon (who he knows them a long time ago) didn't stop Kirito from ripping his own heart, but seeing Eugeon (basicly an A.I. who is a blone Kirito with green eyes) did stop him? Kirito must be really bicurious. And him seeing crying for killing four insane psychopaths is for me either stupid as hell or comedy gold.
well, from ppl who he did favors to, he cannot believe from the bottom of the heart that he is innocent. He thinks Eugeo's death is his fault, or to be more exact, he should have died. This thought resulted in his negative Incarnation and his current state. so yeah, eugeo was pretty much one of the many things he regreted and he was able to fix it. the other 3 were pretty much there for his selfimage, not for him accepting things as they are. thats why he didnt just wake up from the 3, but ended up in that nightmare scene
It was added to show his savagery. To show him piercing a guys head without remorse (he deserved it but still), to showing him without mercy cutting a character in half. It was there to show us the viewer how he views himself. As a brute and failure who doesn’t deserve to live. That was my interpretation anyways.
