Very good explanation. Just a small note, the auto parts stores sell a set of plastic pry bars that are really helpful when removing trim pieces. They help put the leverage on the clip and it's supports rather than on the trim iteslf.
Great video. Thanks. The audio from my CX5 2013 radio began stopping and then coming back on. All the radio functions worked but no audio. I thought it was a fuse but since the audio went out and then came back I don’t think it’s a fuse. I went to a stereo shop and they wanted $1700 for a new radio and it is aftermarket that isn’t OEM. I looked on EBay and these radios are $200-300. Dealers want $3000 or more. I’m going to check and replace all fuses related to the radio and if that doesn’t work I’m going to order an OEM radio from eBay. Is there anyone else who had an intermittent audio problem like I described? Thanks again for this great video! As I looked at my dash I thought I was looking at hours of work to replace the radio. This video shows how easy it is!
@@gassybuds9240I fixed mine in 20 minutes after I got a replacement amplifier from eBay. The amplifier is under the dash on the right side. Just remove the glove box (it’s simple) and the cover over the wall under the dash. Then remove the four screws holding the amplifier. If every other video they said the amplifier was in another place in the car, like behind the radio or even in the rear close to the spare tire. I found mine using logic about where it should be and it was close to the radio on the outside wall under the right side of the dash. It’s a simple problem to fix. Good luck!
@@MovieMakingMan Man my 2014 CX5 doesnt turn on the radio, only button lights at night. I bought another radio in ebay, and changed today, still doesnt turn on. Im mad. Do you think its a fuse or bose amplifier? I need some help and i appreciate it
@@burns985 Mine was the power amp. It’s located under the glove box on the side in front of the door. I got a used amp off eBay and it’s still working. If your radio lights up and you can change channels but have no audio I bet it’s the amp. Good luck! I went to a car stereo store and they said my radio was bad and tried to sell me a NON-oem radio for $1900. I researched the problem on the net and learned it was probably the amp. But everywhere I looked people said the amp is located by the spare tire well and several other locations. But I finally found it under the glove box. The complete repair took 15 minutes. Let me know if you get it fixed!
@@MovieMakingMan thanks a lot for response man ! I DID FIX IT YESTERDAY AFTER 3 WEEKS spending time, money and nerves. ITS FREAKING FUZE nr.38 (radio 2) i found in diagram. Radio got turned on immediately. Im so happy man
Thank you sir, I was able to eliminate a small rattle coming from the A/C vent clip from behind the trim. I was able to wrap it around with tape to prevent the clips from ( vibrate) rattling. It rattled when idling stopped or when I shift in reverse. Now it’s gone! Love my 2014 CX 5 same color as yours!
Hi buddy im about to change my fuel filter so battery out shouod I be concerned of any codes of there are any ? Love the video easy explained well and the windows and tps are the only things to reset ? Thanks
Is it possible to install a 2015 stereo in a 2014 model CX5? mainly interested in the DVD player features, although being able to take full advantage of the other features such as healthcheck wouldn't be a bad thing.
Would the reset at the end potentially fix why my radio on a 2016 Mazda CX-5 isn’t coming? You click entertainment and nothing happens. Dealer told me it was the Tuner Amplifier Unit, but seems unlikely being so new. Any advice is appreciated. Thank you!!
Nice video. I'm wondering: I have a 2013 Cx5. I'm not a fan of the user interface on the stereo. I find the more modern one one the latest models is a lot more intuitive. do you know if the 2016 2017 model cx5 has the same size stereo system. would it be a straight swap?
HYE WHERE I CAN FIND THE FIRWARE AND THE MCU FOR THIS UNIT? I HAVE THE SAME FROM PANASONIC MODEL CV-VM02F1JMB. MY CX5 MAZDA IS THE MODEL OF THE YEAR 2014. THANKS FOR YOUR RESPONSES.
Is this the same way I could go about connecting the new USB module and cables for Android Auto / Apple CarPlay in a 2016? The usb module I take it pries out and maybe you can fish the new cable through with a semi flexible Fiberglas stick or use the old cable as a “pull string” for the new cable? Mazda AA/CP part numbers: Usb hub TK78-66-9U0C Cable C922-V6-605 Or kit 0000-8F-Z34
can you tell me how to install fog lights , does not bring my truck , just bring the cable to connect and steering wheel also brings botos of the fog lamps . greetings from mexico
Thanks for checking out the video! Not sure when I'm going to get to do another CX-5 video but if I do, I'll be sure to remember to do a video on the spark plugs.

I want to do the same thing. Do I have to disconnect the battery to do what you did?
Not at all!
Perfekt. Ein sehr gutes Tutorial👍
Thank you for taking the time to create this helpful video and for sharing!
Very clear and simple explanation. Thanks
I'd like to point out that the mazda 6 is exactly the same as this, just did mine a few days ago and put in a new headunit.
in a 2016 Mazda 5 with a back up camera and a GPS system ,will they work after installing a new Sirius Radio?
thanks captain
Hey , what headunit dis you buy for your Mazda 6 ?
Same process for Mazda 6 of same year with this head unit, once the 3 screws/bolts are removed it can be pulled out, it's secured with the same clips
Thanks a lot for posting this. I just removed my stereo and this was super helpful!
Thank you for the video. Do you have any suggestion on how to remove/replace the steering wheel?

Have you replaced the head unit with an aftermarket head unit specifically in a Mazda CX-5 with Bose? If so, could you do a video?
I'd also like to know the answer to this.
whats the size of the factory stereo in mm ? lwh ?
Help, I need to remove the dash and replace the passenger airbag. Can you do a video on the whole dash removal. Thanks
Hi, could you tell me the specification for the media hub and where ti buy it? Thanks
Does it have some kind of coding exclusive to the car like chevy does?
If I exchange this unit with a used one, my Bluetooth has died, does the dealer have to flash the replacement for the new unit to work? Thanks

Hi, i have a same question. Did you find out the answer? Thank you
this was very helpfull
When the battery is disconnected, is there any danger of losing presets other than the temporary ones in the radio?

Really helpful, thanks a lot!Can you make a video on how to access the spark plugs,my CX-5 has 110,000 miles on it.
Thanks for checking out the video! Not sure when I'm going to get to do another CX-5 video but if I do, I'll be sure to remember to do a video on the spark plugs.
Ok,its no rush, your channel, your videos just needed to see how its done, thanks!
If i were to connect a subwoofer to the audio unit, where could i connect it?
Thank you very much
Does the radio need a code for access?
Is this a single DIN unit?
Thank you!
is this bose sound system headunit or not
opptional Force it's the Bose head unit or if you pay extra you get it as well.
Pulling the clips in the middle scares me. I can picture breaking them, so the question is if I break them, do i need to get a whole new piece?
just got my self a 2015 cx5 touring worst audio system on the planet obviously I did not get the Bose package smh
