Malays had difference with Singaporeans. So they part ways. No land grabbing, no genocide, no wars like other parts of the world. I call that win win situation.
The whole reason of why singapore get kicked out is because Singapore was advocating for Malaysian's Malaysia.
A country where all races are treated equally, regardless of religion or race.
While on the other hand, Malays would like to retain their special rights.
If you are malay, you get discount when you buy any houses.
If you are Malay, you get reserved spots in University over other race despite not having better result.
There are universities and scholarship designed just for Malays and other race cannot get in.
Any listed companies will need to sell 30% of their shares to Malay
Any government projects will first reserved for Malay company.
Result:
In 1960s 1 Malaysian Ringgit = 1.1 sing dollar
2024 1 sing dollar = 3.7 Malaysian Ringgit
In 1960s
Malaysia's airlines was one of the best airlines
2024 singapore airlines is the best airlines in the world
In 1991, Malaysia produces its first national car proton saga
2024 singapore has one of the world's best public transport while Proton is now partially owned by China.
In 1960s, university malaya was one of the top uni in Asia.
2024, National Univesity of Singapore IS the BEST uni in Asia and top 20 best uni in the world while Universiti Malaya struggles to get to top 100
This is the real difference between meritocracy vs race-based policy.
A country where the size is 300x times bigger with 6x more population but failed to thrive as a high income nation.
Wow 😮 this is interesting
@@MrOverseachinesenot true. Malay don't get any discount when buying any house.
There is only one university that only for Malay. There is no such scholarship for only the Malay students. Majority of the students get loan actually & required to pay back 100%.

I'm Singaporean and bruh misinformation in this video. Singapore WANTED independence which is why they merged with Malaysia since malaysia was an independent, bigger country and nearby Singapore which helped Singapore to gain some independence at least. Eventually, Singapore was completely independent on 9th August 1965 due to Singaporeans' strong anger with Britain hence they forced Britain to step down from ruling Singapore. Lee Kuan Yew and the malaysian prime minister's ideologies were both different hence they disagreed with each other and got into a huge argument which caused Malaysia to kick out Singapore. But Singapore and Malaysia are still on neutral terms. Most of the chicken and water in Singapore are imported from malaysia.
Sir you just spit FACTS.

LKY cried not because Singapore was kicked out of the federation. He cried because he had promised the Chinese population in Eastern Malaysia that together with the Chinese majority in Singapore they would make a strong coalition. And he campaigned hard for them to vote so that Sarawak and Sabah join the union. When Singapore was kicked out, the remaining Chinese coalition became weaker. He felt like he betrayed them. He explained this in one of his later interviews.
As a Singaporean it's way more than just us being more Chinese based, there's also economical reasons, trade tariffs, fear of communism, politicians on both sides w/ diff views, etc. Racial enmity is just one of the reasons
Yes, thats the point. Malays didn’t wan to controll other ethinic people. So they decided to part ways. It’s better for both parties.
AGREE. These days very few know the historical reason but they are more brazen and adamantly propagate to demonise M'sia.
THIS VIDEO IS A CLEAR EXAMPLE!
@@sabbirtalukder2745 To be fair, it wasn’t that they didn’t want to control other ethnic people. It’s the fact that under Malaysia’s rule, Malays were given special rights and privileges which included financial benefits, essentially making anyone who wasn’t a Malay a second-class citizen. You didn’t mention the actual reason, it was more about political issues between Chinese and and the local Malays , Racial tensions increased as ethnic Chinese and other non-Malay ethnic groups in Singapore rejected the discriminatory policies imposed by the Malays such as quotas for the Malays as special privileges were granted to the Malays guaranteed under Article 153 of the Constitution of Malaysia. Meanwhile, the Malays in Singapore were being increasingly incited by the federal government's accusations that the PAP was mistreating the Malays.

Singapore was one of British colonials main cities in Asia, it was not the poorest by any means in the 50s and 60s. If you compare Singapore now and then, yes they have progressed significantly. But among all colonised SEA countries at the the time, Singapore was NOT poorer than the rest of Malaysia. When it was part of the Malayan Union, Singapore was the main financial and economic hub for the English colonials, you want to get the latest trend from the west such as clothes and food, you want to experienced a few of the latest technological advancement at the time such as cinema, transportation and healthcare, you go to Singapore. I'm not saying all this was non existance in other parts of Malayan Union, but if you want to see the latest and newest, you go to Singapore. Before the separation they are prosperous enough to have the tallest building in SEA. I don't know where all this Singapore was so poor 😢 when they left Malaysia came from, but its far from the truth. Of course Singapore still have poor areas then, its the 50s & 60s after all and Malaysia just received independence from the Brtish, but its not the complete truth. Just watched videos of Singapore in the 50s and 60s. Gratitude to our forefathers PM Lee Kwan Yew’s words of promises and a man of integrity, rational brilliant politicians for his contribution towards multi racial’s country 0f Singapore 🇸🇬 equally, regardless of race or religion. Although he left the physical existence close to a decade , he is much still alive with us .…. Just to say Big Thank you to him!🙏🙏🙏
Singapore became rich, Malaysia instantly regrets it
Or maybe not
No bruh
I don't think they care now tbh
I think no,
because Malaysia want to secure their malays race instead of foreign race (Chinese and Indian)and considering them as threats with *BUMIPUTERA* because Malaysia don't want their malays races become extinct or malays races become minority in their homeland
with Malays become first class society in there, and for Chinese and Indian become second class, and don't want Chinese race too powerfully in Malay especially in economy
And to become Malays race, you must become Islam/Muslim whatever your races.
Malaysia didnt recognize other races beside 3 them on your identity documentary in Malaysia.
Like from indonesia races in there, like javanese, batak, dayak, sunda, aceh, madura, etc.
Or from other countries races like Bangladesh, Pakistan, etc.
If you Muslim, you will be included as Malays in there, if not you will be include as Indian or Chinese depends where your homeland.
India races and China races is same too
So yeah malaysia decide to kicked out singapore.
Correct Me If I'm Wrong (CMIIW)
We don't give a fck about it, do USA regret they make sour relation with China???
Nuh uh[sed]
Malaysia slowly watching singapore get gdp higher than theirs 😭
So? you actually think we Malaysians regretting kicking Singapore just because their GDP is higher than us???
As a Malaysian that's not a problem and we still progressing steadily
@@iker_officialmif2979 yea ikr
They don't seem to care so you don't have to type
We actually don't care at all
The joke's on Malaysia, considering Singapore has a higher GDP than the whole of Malaysia and is the richest nation per capita in all of Asia.
the real singaporeans know that lee kuan yew's cries were infamously known as crocodile tears
Lee cried cause he has a titanic task on his shoulders, because Singapore has no natural resources. Now its one of the richest. As a Malaysian, respect.
I'm a proud Singaporean Javanese! 🇸🇬
Javanese people only live in Indonesia, not Singapore

@@nutzhazel Im talking about the majority Javanese not the native Javanese in singapore
After i hear this... i felt really bad, but yeah Singapore did become a very cool country so yeah, i give them respect. ❤
Legend say he still crying until his last breath
Why is everyone hating Malaysia lol?
Because they don't understand history and gives unethical opinions based on their lofty ideals.
Some says we don't have history, Some says we're jealous of Singapore. We're basically the Balkans of Asia
Cuz they cant research
Gaylaysians punching the air in this reply section 😂😂😂
@@rcv0 malaysia is a muslim country
Singapore is is atheist/Buddhist country like i said you guys cant research
Look who is winning now though
I bet they regret it
They didnt lol
As an Malaysian,I didn't regret
Never regret such a choice heh look at the living expense of both countries and have some descent sense now
It's a win-win, Singapore became rich on its own and the racial tension between the chinese and malay ceast between the two nations
I mean like, who tf even regret it😂. It be much worse for both sides if we stayed because of the political reasons.
They should be happy today. I visited Singapore last year and wow! It's a world class destination. Despite it's small size, it has so much to see and do. They have well surpassed Malaysia by leaps and bounds..
To those who think Malaysian regret it..
Chilled out hahaha 😂
Hel no
@@Iwont_tellmyname we're Malaysians and we did not regret it right?
The Malaysian politicians are truly a shame. Most Malaysians coexist happily, unlike the racist Malay politicians who have made very racist remarks to Chinese, Indians and other indigenous races, especially Chinese.
Singapore grew well 👍
Malay sia also grew well ... in corruption
did the malay cut ur head..??
@@IBL1S no
Really??
Racist to Chinese?
How come no Malays or Indians been racist to me?
I have Malay , Indian and Chinese friends too

I think it is incorrect to say SG don't want independence. They wants to be independent away from the British empire. But the Prime Minister thinks being part of Malaysia will ensure the success of this region. Malaysia prefer not to have Singapore around. They think it will fail but here we are.
I thought Lee Kwan Yew wanted out. And there's no kicking out, both agreed to go separate ways peacefully.
Singapore want more autonomy. But, Kuala Lumpur says otherwise.
Finally someone who did some research
KL promoted Singapore
Singapore is too expensive. There no space very crowded. Many Singaporean move and live in south Malaysia. Because it's cheaper. True Singapore is rich. But one day it will lose it all. Because Malaysia is building big ports and doing the same industry. It's a matter of time .were Singapore will lose it's importance.
Let me know when that happens say in the year 3024.

Singapore has been rich for a long time because it has been a strategic British outpost and trading route. With or without Malaysia, Singapore will still be rich. Plus influx of Chinese money pouring.
The reason the Malay government kicked out Singapore because the Malay people worried that the ethnic Chinese would be too strong if Singapore was in the Malaysia.
Chinese is invasive race after all, Indonesia deals better Chinese than Malaysia, now Malaysia has language barrier problems
Ethnic Chinese and Indians are still too strong in Malaysia. Most of the businesses are owned by them in spite of your Malay supremacist policies 😂😂😂
Singapore "glow". Proud for Singapore 🎉
I'm from Singapore and Mr Lee kuan yew built Singapore
Now people might say that I ruined a joke somewhere in the video but just to let people now the prime minister wasn't crying because Singapore got kicked out of Malaysia, but because he wanted people to have more babies. Probably because of population.
well best lame joke
