America economy and their education system got women turning to sex workers, these woman are doing what they can to make a living. Some are just very unlucky that they had no choice. Many were kidnapped and are sold as sex traffic.
Apparently, some of the victims were young sex workers he contacted on Craigslist. This is probably why police did not go looking for them earlier. All his victims were in their 20's. Earliest dates back to 2007, 16 yrs ago. If Rex is 59 now, he would have been 43 in 2007, and 46 in 2010. One victim was a transgender Asian sex worker. One victim has a toddler with her, and both mother and toddler were killed. Poor baby. What a monster. Kudos to LIPD for catching this serial killer.
I find it highly unlikely that all these bodies aren't connected somehow, for another killer to mistakenly drop a body on a serial killers dumping grounds is hard to believe.
Have you been to Ocean parkway? Because honestly its a great place to dump bodies. Long dark stretch of road. You can see headlights coming from miles away. I don't think he is responsible for shannon gilbert, but we will see when more evidence comes out

My ex was a carpenter and had no inclination to fix up our house. I've had to hire and pay for all fix ups and most repairs. Ladies run short of money pretty fast. Everything's expensive. Life is too hard these days.

I believe they could have solved the case years ago, they had evidence DNA of his hair and his wife's hair in those body bags, but they couldn't find the right two people DNA to match those hair to. I don't get it, they could have obtained his DNA whenever, everyday, even when he's out having lunch or having coffee, etc...but why anonymously now from a pizza box?

If it's him, and he's been operating since 2007 (as far as we know) I would find it implausible that there are only 4 victims in 16 years. How many women are still missing? How many others disappeared in that area of the state? Where has he lived in the past? Where has he traveled and when? How many are missing in other locations? There are a lot of questions, and while I hope this brings peace to the victims and their families, I hope the authorities get to the full extent of this man's alleged crimes and don't make assumptions.

@traybern Actually, it sometimes does. Recently, a cold case was solved and the detective who identified the suspect said they had a difficult time obtaining a DNA sample because the suspect never really left his house.

I know it was a burner phone but I don't think thaht must be much of an issue for the technician when they are really at it. Looks to me that case was not given the priority it deserved. Also it is time to talk about legalization and securisation of the sex trade. Society has the blood of these young girls on its hands by forcing them to operate in the dark. There have been so many murders. It has to stop.
