    That's why I have gravitated to using and sdr device like the rsp1a. With the waterfall and spectrum display I get a visual idea of what's on the band. There are trade-offs though. I kind of miss adjusting the dials and holding a portable in my hand. Kind of like using a Kindle to read a book. I miss the feel of holding a real book, but sometimes it's more practical to use an e-reader.

    Hi and thanks for this excellent video . I have a ATS 20+ it has a BFO setting could you explain please the fine tuning. Mine says right now +860hz for example, what is that doing ? Thanks Andrew.
