LOL Kaspersky is going to block it 😂😂
😂 i was just what is happening here!
Well the folder protection is very important
No matter who you use, you're going to be using Kaspersky. Everyone uses their virus database. Might as well cut the losers (like Gold shield) out. And go straight to the top. :) p.s. I cought AVG sending custom script, just to create false positives. And claim it was blocking REAL viruses. Avoid AVG!
@@keshavsharma6956 I didn't expect that Kaspersky will block ransomware after its execution.
When I saw that moment, I was like "There's no hope anymore."
My heart was about to stop when I saw the ransomware executed xD
Most of the time, we didn't realize it. I let it run for half hour before I became suspicious about it.
It looked familiar, the one with the jester, I've seen it before in another video, where someone actually got infected, which one is that?

Kaspersky all the way 👌🏻
Leo test bitdefender as well

@@gorilladisco9108 This isn´t an antivirus, we talk about antiviruses only.
@@emre_sus Let me tell you how I got infected with ransomware.
Windows Defender already raised an alarm about a virus, and I shut it up and proceeded to run the infected program that I recently downloaded. And .. BOOM, it wiped my hard drive.
So, the ability to detect ransomware is not that significant in preventing the spread, because I can tell you that the majority of users will just ignore the alarm or shut up the antivirus program.
In a IT forum that I subscribed, almost every week there were cry for help because of ransomware. And you can bet that they already installed various antivirus in addition to Windows Defender. But just like me, they just ignored and shut it up and proceeded.

I believe that Kaspersky devs, once a new variant of ransomware comes out will immediatly update also all the behavioural components after making a new signature. So that's the reason for the high detection
One reason more to stay using Kaspersky. When I set up my new PC half a year ago I was hesitant about installing an AV again (used Kaspersky IS before) because I asked myself if all Windows Defender fanboys are right and it is enough. Stumbled upon your channel and installed Kaspersky again after seeing a few of your videos.
Kaspersky is also more efficient, such that I rather install them on an old PC just to replace the Windows Defender, because even if Window Defender is sufficient it is not customisable and doing a lot of background stuff that lag an old computer.
@@xponen True, window defender used a lot of my CPU.

best yt channel i have come across in a while. subbed! (why didn't I think of this)
Thank you for bringing up that sale on BZfuture. I was about to buy a Windows 10 Home OEM key off Kinguin, but that sale basically let me get Pro for a few bucks cheaper, so I'm VERY happy. And hey, a year of non-Windows Defender antivirus ain't bad either.
Great test and great video! Maybe try disconnecting your VM from the network to make sure the "outside world" isn't being contacted for any signatures, or other related data. I'm really impressed with Kaspersky's performance. Thanks for posting!
I did purchase something and advise me to turn off AV in order for the file not to considered as False Positive. After downloading and installing the application. I run full scan and AV was able to detect threats and some files were affected. but good thing Kaspersky was able to disinfect them without deleting some files. So Kaspersky proves it should be considered as one of the best anti-virus.

Thank you for clarifying this! I was extremely hesitant with this store for that reason.
Hi Leo, thanx so much for a great channel

Awesome video 👍🏻👍🏻 thx fir doing all this test.
Your actually the goat, This helped so much thank you.
Kaspersky - probably the best AV in the world. 😁😉
One thing I noticed after using Avast, AVG, McAfee, Norton 360 Premium and Kaspersky Internet Security- Kaspersky is like the Boss with highest stealth mode and great protection, it's always one step ahead. I installed in my father's laptop with auto file deletion if disinfection was no possibile and I am getting 100% results. Norton used to miss one or two in encrypted archives, but Kaspersky (after tuning settings which I did of Norton as well) works like military strict.
You are wrong avast is secure, kasperky both secure are safe
Thanks, another great video. My best guess is that Kaspersky uses some kind of internal caching. So it wa ready for the malware executed the second or third time. I wonder if the followup tests done on a clean install would behave differently. I would really love to know.
Im so happy that i have Kaspersky :D
Thank you so much Sensei! You are a blessing!
1 minute after release I click this notification.
3:40 You should have run a second opinion scan. If they are able to execute, then 🤷♂️
I found your exploit here very interesting... I work in Windows support for Windows systems management, and presently doing training for Win10. Win 10 is really like a souped up Win7 with some additions and structural changes in the base design. Win10 has a lot more protections and is more robust than Win7 and Win8. Win10 takes advantage of UEFI which replaces BIOS, but we still call UEFI to be BIOS when in discussion about this aspect. We should be calling this aspect UEFI. (Read the explanation below the Divider Line at the bottom of this message).
I noticed you are running Win10. This plays a huge part with the protections you are seeing...!
I cannot comment for Kaspersky because I never used it, but there are virus scanners that even though they indicate the template file has been turned off, it in reality is not turned off. It runs and does not output warnings... You would have to fully uninstall the virus scanner. Many virus scanners will not even let you fully disable them in the Services and Policy settings if you tried to.
Windows 10 by default comes with the new generation of Defender installed. I was told it uses the same base template as another big protection software in partnership. When you install another virus scanner defender does not really go away. It works in the background all the time as a secondary defence and is part of the Windows 10 structure. During one of the training sessions I was attending, the instructor indicated a few things about Defender in how it is embedded as part of the Windows OS. There is a huge advantage in this type of design. It is also incorporated with the "bootkit" which is really the pre-boot starting with the UEFI. I wrote a basic explanation at the bottom of this message below the divider line.
It is fact however, that protection is only as good as the last update of the template file for detection of malware. Quality Virus scanners also use a hysteresis type operation to attempt to detect something that appears to be possibly malicious, but this is limited. Take care that the installed virus scanner can only work after the OS finishes loading the Kernel, and the base platform just before the GUI and the rest of the operating programs load. There has to be many types of drivers loaded, and the boot record has to have been run for the virus scanner software to start in the first place. This is where the bootkit and UEFI come in to play before this all happens. Previous versions of Windows cannot take advantage of the UEFI protection.
Also, take care that Windows 10 in itself has very sophisticated built in protections against malware that works at the MBR and and UEFI level. There are malware that writes a start file in part of the boot record, and create hidden ini startup files, so it can do its malicious work before the OS can run the virus scanner protection. The MS Windows security updates are designed to protect at this level.
It would be interesting for you do this same test with a Win7 computer and have no virus scanner installed! I bet all those malware would get installed and go to war with each other! :-)
-------------------- Divider Line -------------------
This a simple explanation I was given about UEFI protection in Win10, that Win7 and previous OS do not have. This is a simple explanation about the added protection you are seeing that Win7 would not be able to offer. The Win10 MS security updates work in part with the UEFI system.
Basic:
Windows 10 has multiple levels of protection for desktop apps and data, too. ... When you run Windows 10 on a PC or any PC that supports Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI), Trusted Boot protects your PC from malware from the moment you power on your PC until your anti-malware starts.
Basic Additional:
UEFI Secure Boot. Secure boot is designed to protect a system against malicious code being loaded and executed early in the boot process, before the operating system has been loaded. This is to prevent malicious software from installing a "bootkit" and maintaining control over a computer to mask its presence.

Indeed, a very nice metaphor
Great vid like always. I had been wanting to ask you if you can recommend one AV solution above all the ones you have tested. After seeing its performance, would Kaspersky be that one or would you recommend another?

Kaspersky is too op, nerf it so hackers can have any chance xd
Yo No way we nerfing Kaspersky
Excellent results. Maybe even with KSN turned off it only prohibits uploading of stuff to KSN and not the downloading of threat info from the KSN cloud system.
I believe that you are spot on my friend. I was waiting to see if someone else would figure it out. Disabling KSN is only preventing information from your computer to the KSN from being transmitted. KL will continue using the same definitions from KSN for your protection.
Would like more content on free AVs. Especially an update on Kaspersky's free solution.
Keep up the great work, buddy.

Love your vids! Can I suggest that make yearly videos of comparisons and tests, and add the date to the title? So that maybe it can turn up more often in the search bars for the latest AV test. Maybe because of the TH-cam algorithm...
I didn't even realise the results OMG
I believe what happened is this: When Kaspersky is connected to the online database, it compares software to the database record. But when not connected, it knows it's not connected, and gives a higher degree of suspicion to any installing software, resulting in more false positives, but not risking negligence.
btw it looks like it's still far too easy to infect Windows. I would have hoped that nothing but trojan horses could get through by now, like in civilised operating systems.
Good Point! And yeah, backwards compatibility is nice, that's for sure, but if it means that malware can easily screw you in both holes... Yeah, that sucks.
Just bought Kaspersky! Hope it does me good.

That is impressive from Kaspersky. One thing I like about it is that it uses way less resources as compared McAfee, BD (So much RAM even in idle) and even Windows Defender.
I found your channel couple of days ago. I find it very interesting. Good job mate. Do you really think it is worth upgrading to KIS or the basic Antivirus version will suffice? Basically is the firewall worth it or Windows Firewall does the job as well?
Man I trust Kaspersky but Bitdefender has a warm place in my heart . Please try norton next
I have no doubts that Kaspersky is a good product but I trust BD more because of the whole allegations about Kaspersky being spyware and not to mention its campaign in developing malware to encourage people to use the product.

My sister has Karspersky app and it literally saved our laptop.
My sister was looking for an answer key and she noticed something different about the file she download but clicked it anyways..When she clicked it, Kaspersky started spamming the notification because there is a Trojan Virus in that file..My sister can not delete the file whatever she does until she turn off the internet (she found it on google) and she was able to delete the file while Karspersky while blocking the virus.
Gosh its so traumatic!!
Your sister was smart enough to install Kaspersky in the first place.
The fact its doing better than Avast surprises me a lot. Might actually have to switch BACK to Kaspersky used to be pricey as damn to buy but nowadays they calmed down on the price a bit.
Hi Leo, the task that you did was amazing. The last part where you said, whether Kaspersky is getting some updates from somewhere for that Will it be possible to check the same antivirus which is completely disconnected from the Internet? So that there is physically no way for AV to get its updates from somewhere else which we are not aware of. Also I would love to see Bitdefender put under same conditions as this one and Sophos as Sophos gave you a 100% Block in some tests.
Yeah I was thinking the same thing. But then I remembered that he launches ransomware from a network drive, so he needs the internet for that. The other thing he could possibly do is block the application from the firewall, but he'd also have to find other Kaspersky processes to block which could be a hassle.
