  • This video showcases the colors and contrast of Samsung the Freestyle through viideo scenes projected on a white painted wall in total darkenss.
    The image size is 130 inch.
    The rainbow color effect only appears in the video.
    The projector is set to Dynamic mode and the spound is set to Ampliify.
    Note:
    While shooting the video I was accidentally leaning on the support it was placed on, so the image shifted to the left onto the black border, but in reality the image is steady.

    Hello My samsung projector screen is blurred ... Can u help me ?

    • @GameMode12
      @GameMode12  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello, Aman.
      If your Samsung freestyle image is blurred, may be from two reasons:
      1. The focus mechanism is broken, in which case you need to take to a service point or return it to the seller if this option is available to you
      2) The screen is blurry because you have moved it too fast or too often while setting it up, and the focus mechanism is not figuring out your intentions. Try to disconnect it from the power for a few minutes, then point it upwards vertically to the ceiling and re-connect it to the power. Start it up and let it do its auto focus and image readjustment. Remember, you need to have it on auto focus because if you put it manual, it is not going to do anything. So before turning it off, set it on auto if it was not. Projecting to the ceiling usually makes the clearest image. If this works, then slowly point it to the wall you want to project on. If you have too long distance to it, turn off the projector, adjust the angle to be as close as possible to the final position you want to have it, and then turn it on again. It is not good to move the image too fast or too often.

      I hope this was fixing your problem.
      I also noticed that for some reason, if the Samsung logo is under the projector, the projection is clearer than if the logo is above

I am not sure how cheap you can get a refurbished Epson compared to a new model like CO-FH02, for example, tho. Personally, I never changed a bulb but bought a newer model.

    Hi, I read that it needs to be 8.5 feet from the wall to project an 100 inch display. But is the display affected if the distance is increased to 12 ft? Does it go out of focus? Thanks.

    • @GameMode12
      @GameMode12  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello. Samsung recommends 8.5 feet for an acceptable brightness. In this video, I have it at 12.3 feet from the screen, and there is no loss of focus, but the brightness is definitely lower. I wanted to show that even at a further distance, the image quality is acceptable, so it will be even better at a shorter distance. So you should not worry about the focus, only the brightness might be an issue if your eyes can't accept it. For me, in a total dark room it is very ok like this.

    Thank you for your samples! I’ve been looking into getting the Freestyle because it’s accessible where I’m from and there are a lot of good deals right now for it. However, some big channel reviews (aside from Samsung-sponsored ones) are quite disheartening due to negative feedback. As someone who has used this, what are your thoughts on the supposed low brightness/lumens? Do you ever feel that it’s lacking in real life when you watch? I can work with all the other “quirks” like slow menu as long as the streaming itself is smooth. But I fear buyer’s remorse since I can’t test a unit physically and returns aren’t possible where I’m from. I only ever need to use mine in a small bedroom during movie nights, not even as a TV replacement. Hoping to hear from someone who has actually bought and used it long term 🙏🏻

    • @GameMode12
      @GameMode12  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Hello, Lara.
      Samsung Freestyle is a very good projector which is supposed to be used in a dark environment.
      It has 3 image settings like Dynamic, Standard and Movie.
      The Dynamic mode is the brightest and has the best colors and it is comparable with how an image looks on a TV.
      I suggest you to use it in this mode. It comes set on Standard from the factory. You will need to set it to Dynamic yourself.
      Also, set the contrast ratio to High and color tone to Cool (I think it looks more like a TV with Cool mode then Warm mode)
      Also, set the audio from the projector speaker to Amplify, in case you don't use and external sound system.
      About Brightness:
      The closer you place it to the wall, the smaller the image. The smaller the image, the brighter it will be. The larger the image, the less brigher it will be.
      For example you will get 100 inch from 2.65 m, 70 inch from 1.86m, 30 imch from 80 cm. In this video I use it at 3.75m, and I get 130 inch.
      Here is a video I made to show how the image looks with artifical light in the room. th-cam.com/video/RkkjXfi45Pc/w-d-xo.html
      If will look worse with natural light in the room.
      In conclusion, if you don't intend to compare it with a TV which is definitelly brighter, then you will be ok with it. Your eyes will adjust to the image in like 5 min and you will no longer feel it is not very bright. So, whenever you use the projector, turn off the TV first to avoid the comparison and then turn on the Projector.
      If by any chance you have a Samsung TV, be warrned that the projector's remote may turn on the TV as well if it is placed in range.
      So, compared to a LCD TV, I think the brightness of Freestyle is 7 out of 10, where 10 is the TV's brightness.
      I do this comparison with an LCD TV from 2016. Qled TV's or Oled TV's are much brighter so their brightness should be lowered ro 50% for a better exemplification
      About Software responsiveness
      It is not fast as a phone. It has some laggs while surfing in the menu which some people consider annoying but I don't have a problem with it.
      The internet streaming is smooth. No problems there at all. The movies and clips run with no lag at all.
      I have a video which will show you better I guess. Here it is th-cam.com/video/pMYTmCQj65k/w-d-xo.html
      If you are stil worried about the brightness of the Freestyle is not enough, you may search for another projector called Epson CO-FH02 which in here where I live has the same price as the Freesatyle. Here is a video comparison I made between these 2 projectors: Epson CO-FH02 and Freestyle
      th-cam.com/video/qeWxog7vxhs/w-d-xo.html
      Anyway, If the Freestyle is the only choice you have, i think you will be satisfied with it as long as you use it in a dark environment and you are not in a "rush" through the menu.

      I am glad I could help you decide. I was in doubt myself too after watching those negative feedback, but once I bought it I was really satisfied with it and I decided to make these videos to prove that The Freestyle is not as bad as those feedback are, and it is actually very good if used in proper conditions.
      This is why I made these videos at 130 inch, much larger than the 100 inch recommended by Samsung to show that if even a larger image looks great, a smaller one will be even better.

      @GameMode12  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello, again. I have made a video comparing Samsung the freestyle with the LCD TV from 2016 I was talking about so you can see the image brightness difference and judge by yourself. The TV is set on Dynamic as well as the projector, but I has like 9 years of use and the light might not be as bright as when it was a new TV but still you can see the difference. Also, the room was not totally dark which means that in a total dark environment, the Fteestyle image will look a better. th-cam.com/video/5JNSfMcJhM4/w-d-xo.html

      The projector is placed at about 375 cm from the wall. You will get an aproximately 120 inch picture size from 340 cm distance.
      The picture size scales automatically with the distance but the projector doesn't have a scale up feature but only a scale down, meaning that you can get a smaller picure from a longer distance but never a larger picture from a shorter distance.

      You are right. All the images you see for any projector on youtube and also all the sounds from speakers depends on the TV, the monitor or the phone / tablet screen quality you view the video on and does not reflect the actual image you see in reality. For example the image in reality is much more sharper then it is in these videos but also less brighter.
      The video cameras that film these images enhance the image by default for a better picture. I filmed this with Samsung S22 Ultra camera in standard settings and I haven't done any editing and still it captured this image.
      A small hint: if you haven't done it already, try to set the image of your Freestyle to Dynamic, the tone to Cool and the contrast to High for the best picture quality. Also, the smaller the image, the brighter. And the sound to Amplify for a much louder sound.

    130 inch are you sure? The official website says max 100 inch.

    • @GameMode12
      @GameMode12  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, it is 130 inches. Samsung recommends 100 inches as maximum for an acceptable brightness according to their tests. Every projector can run a larger image than the manufacturer says because they need to make sure that what they recommend is not going to get them criticism, but we, the users, can place it as far as we want if we consider the resulted image satisfactory or acceptable.
      In this video, I wanted to show that if a larger image is good, a smaller one like the recommended 100 inches will be even better.
      For a better exemplification, you may check out my other videos where I compare the Freestyle at 92 inches with The Premiere or with Epson CO-FH02 at 130 inches

    • @GameMode12
      @GameMode12  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      390€ for Samsung the Freestyle in new condition is a very good price. Usually, it sells for 450-550€.
      I don't use it every day but I have seen over 300 movies with it since I bought it.
      In my opinion it can't replace a TV, especially an Oled TV, if you want to use it during daytime, but if you use it only during the night time in a dark room and at an image size of 80-90 inch then it may be good enough as a TV replacement but still, it can't beat a TV. This is my opinion which is very subjective. An 80 inch TV may be a lot more expensive then the Freestyle so only considering the price, the Freestyle is worth it but only for the night time. No TV during day time.
      Here is a video I made with it's image during daytime in a partially shadowed room.
      You need to keep in mind that the image you see is 20% brighter then it actually is in reality, because the camera which filmed it and the screen you are watching the video on will alter it for a better picture.
      th-cam.com/video/WfSXKfJJSdg/w-d-xo.html
      It is a good projector, but compared to the other more expensive projectors, it is still an 8 out of 10 going to 8.5 if I consider your 390€ price.
      Here it is why:
      - image colors and contrast - 10
      - image adjustments - 8
      - software responsiveness - 8
      - daylight image - 5
      - night time image - 9
