HI @H20L Tech, My car has Sat Nav and also traffic information but they are local FM information i.e. Dutch language, I am planning to buy a Garmin 61, but I am confused between 61 S and 61 D, Which one should I buy it? Considering I want all live traffic updates, live cameras, live incidents notified. Thanks. Also my cellphone is always connected to my car's bluetooth for call purpose.
Question on the Garmin, does it have the feature where it will say out loud if a Red Light Camera is approaching and a Speed Trap. The Speed Trap alert is for school camera's where you cant go past a certain speed. I know Waze has both of these features, but does the Garmin GPS have it.
@@h20ltech Now is the Garmin a pay service where you got to pay once a year to get the Redlight Camera and Speed Trap updates. I"m using the Waze and the main problem i'm having with it. It will say out loud if there's a Redlight camera coming up. But when it comes to the Speed Trap alerts, it doesn't say it out loud. It will only show on the phone, if there is a speed Trap alert.
i havent tried Garmin yet, but so far for me the Tomtom 6250 is the best. But you have to have a basic map knowledge otherwise it will lead you into some trouble for sure...
@@MaximC yes, the lgv700, it has tonns more feature than TomTom, knows the trucking roads, road closures etc... but the biggest downside that the map itself is not that clear to view like in Tomtom, you look at the map and you see orange and red sections but I never knew if its a traffic jam or just a construction, also doesnt states the time of delay only if the traffic jam happens in your planned route, and the road closure sections also hard to understand becase sometimes two road goes next to each other, one of them is closed but they both look black with a "no driving here" sign (black roads are closed roads). If you live in a busy traffic place, like in Germany, go for the TomTom. If you live in a less busy country, for example Norway, go for the garmin, also the weather forecast of Garmin comes really handy in the Scandinavian countries. I tried Garmin nor Norway mainly, in Europe too.
Is traffic working like that till now for you? Ive got traffic from garmin now and it is terrible. It shows jams, incidents etc. that are not there. Also I can't report a camera which is not on my map(everything is up to date) 🤒🤒
Comparing a 300 dollar gadget (Garmin) to a free app on your phone. Of course Garmin is better but not worth paying 300 dollars when you can get Google Maps or Waze for free.

Daniel Suran After test between TomTom GO 6200 and Garmin 61 I decided to keep Garmin. But if you think to install satnav to your phone I will go for TomTom mobile but you have to pay £15 a year. Or if you want free satnav I quite like Waze lots of social traffic information very useful.
Daniel Suran Good thing about TomTom go mobile is that you can try it for free up to 50 miles than you need to upgrade. This includes traffic information speed camera.
H20LPALI TECH problem with a sat Nav app on your phone 1) you can't check your phone easily for other things (messages / Ebay / Facebook etc) 2) phone can get hot and use your battery faster 3) losss of your phone signal may lead to loss of your self. 4) It will be highly dangerous if any minor problem on your phone (loss of signal / battery usage / updating your location exactly to the nearest 0.5m etc. interferes with your journey 5) long distance joiyyoi don't want to interfere with your sat Nav just leave it alone and don't worry 6) police might stop you thinking your using your phone when you are looking at your sat Nav Etc In short it's much safer and that's the only reason enough to go for stand alone sat Nav . Never mind all the other reasons. No interference no problem. It's more expensive but a lack of safety is priceless.
How are you able to see the road clearly with the two sat Nav plastered in the field of vision! Unless you have someone driving 🚘 and you are the passenger as it can be extremely dangerous doing it solo.
It depends on which Garmin model you get. I got this same Garmin 61 LMT-S GPS for $109 without the traffic receiver cable; so I have to use my phone to link and pair with this GPS to access data for live traffic data. I can buy the traffic receiver cable GTM 60 or GTM 36 for around $60 to provide live traffic data without using my smartphone; but I don't want too.
@@braingames1326 If you don't like live traffic; then that is fine. The Garmin GPS will work offline without internet requirement and that the way it was designed for. and you only need internet for map update. Garmin GPS has a lot of versions. All versions will provide offline map; but for traffic, some versions provide traffic with the traffic receiver cable or smartphone with internet and some versions do not provide the traffic at all.

Big advantage Garmin has over Waze is the lane guidance view. Busy city traffic this is a must. Both are good, but this one item is a great plus.
Garmin 61 got 7" screen, that is one big advantage.
I totally agree, life-saver busy cities or highways
