I know this doesn't give me major credibility but I've been watching horn run videos religiously and baseball since 1990 on all levels at all kinds of fields and parks. I've been to major league parks to see if the stat cast distances really matecjed and I've found on stay cast over half of the time adds 8-18 feet to the typical home run. It's odd (like you noticed) when you see one and think that went further because they really have over projected I'd say 60 percent of all home runs.
