This song brings me back to when it was around 2013 when Minecraft was popular. My family was struggling financially and we where in a tough spot. My birthday was coming up and despite what was going on my dad promised to get me a gift. So my birthday comes around I told my dad about Minecraft and he decided to go to GameStop to get me Minecraft for the Xbox 360. We took it home and booted it up, created a world together and started playing. And after that whenever he wasn’t busy with work we would always boot up that same world and bond with each other over Minecraft.
That still is one of my best memories to this day.
That’s so beautiful. Those are the memories you never want to forget. I remember playing minecraft and listening to this while playing on the ps3 while building, messing around, and having fun. I’ll never forget moments like those.

This song saved me from a mental breakdown I had back in 2016. I couldn't see a way out. My wife and I built a house in the game and lost it. I wandered for hours looking for it while she was working. This song played and by the end of it I realized the day will rise tomorrow and that everything should be alright. To this day, we talk about that old build.

This is a master
piece, you can clearly see the effort C418 put to make this as unique as possible, and that's what makes this so memorable, it's unique, the music doesn't remind me of any other song out there, so, it saves itself within my memory. You can hear the incredible detail in the background (you can hear it better with a headphone at max volume). This is why Minecraft's Beta album is my new favorite. Yes, the Alpha album is good, yes, it reminds me about the good ol days. But it will not compare to the Beta album, the Beta album has an overall uniqueness to it, each piece feels different, they all have deep meaning to them, they're just great. And, not just that, but even the different parts of the piece are unique from each other, they all have different instruments which make you remember every last bit of it, making it even more nostalgic.

@@palomec_2322since microsoft purchased mojang, they wanted to use music in the game that they owned, rather than pay C418 the royalties for his music. so they got two people to make new soundtracks, and they've made it so that the old stuff plays less often. really a shame.

this is so true. When I listen to this song, all I can feel is nostalgia, sadness, great fullness, and depressed. It Brings back so much memories of building houses on my Xbox 360 E. It feels like I am reliving my childhood over and over and over. It also makes me feel warmth, like something is hugging me to get through these hard times. I can still remember updating my Minecraft, and hearing this song show up less. If anything, this song made me continue playing Minecraft for more years you can count on both of your hands. I will never stop listening to this song, as its the song of my childhood.
But as I grow up, I think it's slowly time to close up the chapter for Minecraft. In March, I'm going to do my test for my Learners licence, going into high school next year, and getting into more tougher times.
I will always remember you Minecraft, and I will always remember this song, even during my final moments on this big, floating rock we call home.

this masterpiece isn’t just a soundtrack to an equally celestial game, this symphony played in the background whilst my friends and i created our childhoods from depths of our imagination, no other thing could fit so perfectly with the memories i’m recalling, not only am i sad that i can no longer experience these memories to the fullest but i am happy that they are now forever locked away in my head, there to create more joy and more memories that will one day grow and become something spectacular. looking back, i see now what made life so amazing, it wasn’t the problems being easier or the challenges less frightening, but the absence of adversity. i can no longer recall what it felt like to be in this state of freedom, now, like i said before, these feelings and memories are forever locked away in the bonds of my imagination, trapped, to become figments of my dreams.

It’s true I was there
I miss that time
To think 6 years ago I was 17 years old. I was in my Junior year of High School. It was actually one of the most beautiful year I will ever experience in my life.. I was in love, was in band camp, had a lot of friends, I didn't realize that in the moment, but I actually had a pretty good life in 2014. However, it was also one of my worst times I will ever experience. I developed P.T.S.D because of a drug addiction and would trigger countless Panic Attacks. My mental state was at its worst but thankfully, my girlfriend at that time helped me go through it. I am not with her now, but I do am thankful for all the memories we created, best and worst ones. I didn't realize then but I am grateful I got to experienced finding these type of music that let me escape from reality. I am sure many of you will also understand that the music from Minecraft acted as a remedy to my teen problems we all faced one way or another. I am now 23 years old and looking back at little me commenting on these music videos, I am glad I have come this far and I am happy for each and of you that have made it thus far as well. Things eventually get better. Love you all and stay strong.

There are so many memories. So many... vague memories. They're faded. They're incomplete. Some are just knowledge of a memory that was.
And the song progresses. They clarify. They come back. Not flooding back in an uncontollable manner, just enough to chew over each one.
I get a sudden, powerful impulse to write down these. Who knows when they will be remembered again?
My nostalgia, I literally just realized, straddles the border between memory and feeling. The memories age. They join with others. They slowly fade.
But they don't fade away.
Instead, they merge into a feeling. Not a new emotion, but not just a slightly different type of nostalgia either. It is an entirely new feeling, an entirely new sensation. And yet... yet it feels so familiar. Like I felt it before. Like I was feeling it, and it was preserved in the memory, waiting for me to experience it.
Previously, my writings about nostalgia didn't make a whole lot of sense. They just involved scribbling down anything I could get a clearish recollection of. But now... now I understand.
And the song slowly ends. Slowly I become aware, once again, of my surroundings. It is 3:15 AM, Saturday, the 21st of July, 2018. I'm lying in bed next to a bowl of pretzels.
But for ten minutes or so, I was in a different world. A world made out of faint, faded memories, so many different feelings. There are no vivid flashbacks like you see in the movies. They move up from the back of your mind. Pictures, usually. And the circumstances around them.
Now i'm thinking about this comment entirely. How do I end it? What do I say? Will it still be poetic and, more importantly, true if i'm thinking about the comment and not the music?
No, it won't be. I have left that would. And I will never be able to rejoin. It's a good thing there are so many others, some strong, some weak, some nothing but tunes, others clear memories of video. Set off by everyday objects, they start chain reactions, like this one is still doing right now.
So that's my comment. Things actually happened during the writing of it. This is my most eloquent description of Nostalgia, at least this nostalgia, I have ever written. I had an epiphany while writing it, so maybe that helped. But a pleasant epiphany. One that sort of creeps up on you at your own pace...

I’ve compiled an over 100 video playlist that has given me this feeling and I remember and try to revisit different settings that give me this feeling. It’s very important to me. It’s as if I’ve been given a door to unlock the secrets of the human mind and I’m searching for the right key: the best description of consciousness itself. I love this feeling, it’s melancholic in a way, but it can also be joyous, or even infuriating. I’m at school right now, physics class. Look at us, all grown up! But why do we still come here? That is a simple question to answer. We all miss the freedom and the magical days and nights we had with this seemingly infinite world. Nowdays we never think a lot about so much freedom because we have to think about work or exams. Of course we say to ourselfs that vacations and good spots to go to with your friends is freedom enough but we will never be as free as we were all those years back. We weren‘t just sitting on a chair we felt like we were transported onto a diffrent planet. Now… well now we are grown up and are shamed for saying „wouldn‘t it be wonderful to live in a world without flaws, worries, work, or corporate manipulation.“ because they‘d say „oh grow up“ or „snap back to reality“. For years i had a weird dream that just showed me an infinite meadow and i never understood what it meant, but now i know. It meant freedom.
This song gives me strange sensations that are very difficult to explain... They transmit surrealism, peace, tranquility, an atmosphere of mystery...

I still remember these fond memories. Waking up early, opening pocket edition, maybe trying out a new mod. Watching the TH-cam videos from some of the ones, before clickbait came along. Listening to this song in the background as I build away. I remember looking forward to summer break as I would wake up and play minecraft. Now, all I have are these memories as I end the school year. If only I could experience this again.

This is the first Minecraft song I've ever remember, I remember seeing a kid playing Minecraft at my cousins house and I always wanted to play it. So I went and bought story mode this was around 2015. I realized that that wasn't the right game so I got angry and asked my mom to buy me the real game. On a Wii u, made a creative world, started doing things that I really just cannot remember. And then, Haunt Muskie plays. Finally finding this AMAZING piece has me feeling so accomplished in life. Thank you Mojang.

I'm new to Minecraft, started playing it couple weeks ago.. But I can tell you already I fell in love with this game and the music by c418.. I got because my little cousins once was playing it while I was there and I was just amazed by the music.. Then I knew I had to get this game for myself :3 I'm still a noob but I'm glad I got it.. Can't believe I been missing out on this though!

That seems like a nice time to build, then stop what your doing for a moment to admire your work. Especially when you feel proud that you worked so hard to make your own home and even villages, and you feel like you have achieved something from it.

A week ago, a girl I fell in love with, the only person I trusted with whom I built such a long path in the future together, broke my heart and left me all alone that easy after a year that proly was the happiest moment in my life. I had to search some calm music to forget about it atleast for a sec, and then I remembered Haunt Muskie. I used to enjoy it those 9-10 years ago, but now when I hear it, it reminds me of those times me and my soulmate were happy together. I think I can never listen this again without bursting into tears hardly as before.

I completely agree, except I feel this way about the whole song. This is, in my opinion, one of the best Minecraft songs. I don't play Minecraft much anymore, but I listen to this all the time. Minecraft's blocky structure is nice and all, but this music goes beyond cubes. When I listen to this, I think of my best friends and I having climbed a mountain, and the sun begins to set. We all set up our tents, create a fire, and sit around it and just talk, while I look at the expansive view above the trees and beyond, as the sun slowly sets behind the mountain range.

To me, this music really expresses how effortless creative mode is. The way the piano just seems so tastefully done in with such a careless melody. It reminds me to take a chill pill when designing builds in creative mode.
When I was nine (about 5 years ago from when I'm typing) I had a brain tumour, it was removed surgically but along with it went some of my fondest memories. My family always talk about me when I was 6 making a diamond castle on our family world but I could never rethink what it was like but this song and especially the drop at 1:53, I get the tiniest of flashbacks to that world and that castle. It's not much but it's memories I will never have been able to access without this song and it makes me cry every time I hear it because it reminds me of the times where me, by 2 brothers and my dad would sit together on the sofa and split screen the xbox 360 and play happily for hours. It makes me realise how much I need them and love them so I can't thank this song enough.

I remember it clearly now. Around the mid of august, 2014. I found out that minecraft was out in the ps3. I quickly ran to my mother to show it to her, and let me and my brother have it. I told her it's the only thing I would ask for the entire year (which I vaguely remember asking for anything else really). The moment it was in my hands after her buying it, I felt like a new path in my life just showed up.
When we arrived home, me and my brother were really eager to play it, as it was updating and getting ready to be played. I remember the whole tutorial clearly, I made my first world there and spent most of the time rebuilding the building with the bunch of beds in it, took the ender chest too and put it next to my bed. If I'm not wrong there was paintings and I put a bunch of them too. My brother decided to take care of the animals and get some fish too.
Fast forward. All my friends had a ps3, and minecraft. I had the idea of making a huge city in a flat world, but first a street full of our houses, so we would all be together. I made like 30 plots or so around 50 by 50 blocks, with stone slabs. It took me like 4 days or so to finish it myself. As they came in, each of us built our own house, and we would oftentimes visit each other and help each other out. Even the friends of my friends came, and we ended up meeting a lot of people, we had a lot of fun.
Sadly, in a couple months they never got to play again. But I did. And after 6 years, I still do to this day on my pc. I barely know of them anymore, and I don't think they remember it. But it made me really happy. I always come back to minecraft, play for a week nonstop, and keep on with my life.
I'm sorry, it's a really long story and I hope it's not too boring. I caught a cold and my playlist put this song after so long. As soon as I get better I will play again, this time with my girlfriend, and I will tell her all my stories, she loves them. I hope everyone has a good day. Nostalgia is really heartwarming and sad at the same time. But as they say, don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened. Cheers.

I remember the hype in 2016 - 2017, where everyone would play it so i began trying my best to get it until I finally got a rip off in 2017 and eventually got into actual minecraft, in mobile basically. I remember playing with friends and people but I'm on the same boat now, its all a pool of nostalgia, possibly none of them plays the game anymore and I also have years to meet them cause we moved 4 years ago to the city but rip. I still play minecraft, even tho being a pro in everything, I can guarantee that I was having real fun back then building simple houses and structures and trying to replicate the memories don't work, its close to impossible. closest thing we can to revive those memories is to go back to those old worlds, hear the minecraft songs or see any video recorded that time.
edit: and I personally had 2 devices worth 500 worlds+ in 2017 - 2018, I deeply regret it accidentally deleting them by hard resetting them.
Almost 10 years since I started playing this amazing game, I just remember the time when I was a kid just placing some blocks trying to build a house, and right now I just have this nostalgic game and I keep playing it every time I can
