Well Done! I have putting off wrapping a tool box with 7D carbon fiber vinyl that I am placing on an electric tricycle to enclose the battery and control module. I have been hesitant wrap the tool box because I wanted it to be perfect to complement the bright blue metallic to dark blue metallic gradient custom paint with carbon fiber-fenders and carbon fiber components. After watching your video I now have the confidence that I can wrap perfectly wrap the rounded corners on the tool box. Thank you, my hat is off to you in respect and appreciation. I tried 4 some scrap pieces on the corners with your excellent video and clear explanation. The practice corners from scraps worked out well. 1st OK: Better Than Most, 2nd Very Good, 3rd Extremely Impressive and the 4th: Perfect! With your video and my practice from scraps I am positive my that I can finish this while up holding our corporate motto, "If Someone Can Do It Better, We Did Not Do It Right". Thank you again for presenting an extremely fine and excellent video.
I’m doing white dc-fix vinyl wrap on my Behringer Truth speakers and they have exactly the same shaped round corners. Thank you for making this instruction video!
@@QuickandDirty Nice. What do you do with the corners, heat them up again or reglue with something? I have a speaker that’s a clean cut box so it should be much easier. Plan on running top, bottom and sides in one sheet, and then the back with another. How hard would it be to replace it? Also, I would assume some glue residue would remain. Any idea how to clean it after peeling off without damaging the veneer?
You have to have the patience of an ox to go through with it. And the luck of the Irish for it to look pristine. This procedure if definitely not for the faint of heart.
I had to coax myself out of taking my own life after watching this video! lol In all seriousness, very nice work though...the speaker really did come out looking sharp! I might tackle a pair of LSi15's with fire engine red.
@@QuickandDirty Have you done a pair of the LSi15's or 25's? I assume the upper edge would be a little tougher because the acrylic continues past the wood panel.
@@QuickandDirty Also, have you ever removed the vinyl from a pair of this particular Polk line? If so, does it damage the veneer or leave any residue behind? Finally, do you recommend any specific brand or thickness of vinyl?
Useful advice...came onto youtube to look at some tips in vinyl covering speakers, and here I am....watching some good tips but with some dialogue that sounds like it is lifted straight from a porn flick lol O_0
This technique is for adhesive vinyl. Please do not try it with contact paper or by applying glue to your speaker enclosure and then a nonadhesive vinyl. Adhesive vinyl is available on eBay at excellent pricing without the mess and unsatisfactory results that glue or contact paper will offer. Let me gently coax you into doing in professionally with excellent results. Look at some of the results on You Tube that have even been done on exotic cars that are priceless.
Just saw this video and I can't believe anyone would do anything like that to a beautiful speaker like the Polk. A cheap or scratch pair of speaker, OK, but not a quality speaker like a Polk LSi series speaker.
Some people listen for pleasure then there are those of us that listen for knowledge. Music is fantastic but please do not bring a marching band to my next session in heart or brain surgery.
Agree, I wouldn't paint them. Vinyl wrap would be my first choice and if you don't like vinyl then Plastidip them. Both of those options are reversible in case you ever want to sell them.
Legend has it, he’s still coaxing the vinyl
I missed that, did he want me to coax the vinyl? :)
Just making sure you guys know. Coax the vinyl.
He sound like he enjoying that coaxing a little to much,, his girlfriend probably a little jealous 🤣
The Bob Ross of vinyl wraps.
😂😂😂
After being hypnotised by this video, I’m gonna wake at 2am in a cold sweat nightmare shouting “COAX THE VINYL”
Should I coax the vinyl?
Rumor has it, lol
I believe so, but not entirely sure...?
Lmfaoooo so true man. He repeated it like 10 million times throughout the video
LOL, yep "Coax the Vinyl"
I must add, "Coax" gently persuade, do not force, meaning do not over heat or over heat the vinyl, Gently Coax It and it will do what you you want. Physc 101.@@markduraid
Can't wait to coax my vinyl 😂
Holy shit, this is dude the Bob Ross of vinyl?
Yea, his technique is pretty coax
Came here for information..left with large smile on face plus knowledge .. vids don't get any better than this

Apologies if I missed it, but do I need to coax the vinyl if attempting this?
That's my bad, I should have reiterated in the video. Yes, coaxing the vinyl is always a good idea.
@@QuickandDirty Many thanks, that's where I've been going wrong thus far. Duly noted for future attempts.
You are the Bob Ross of vinyls
Excellent work, and that speaker looks SO good in white!
add in some happy little trees too lol
Do Not forget to Coax that Vinyl!
I rearly leave comments but Im just wondering… Do you coax the vinyl ?
Great job, I have some boring black speakers I want to do in high gloss red! If you can recommend a good vinyl I’d be very thankful.
Great video quality for 7 years ago. Why I was thinking of adam dandler saying just tap it in . Tap it in .
Very nice!!! I'm looking at doing a vintage set of floorstanders, this gave me a boost
Can i use a hair dryer instead? Dont have a heat gun
That’s mint mate, looks really good. Gonna do my sub 👍🏼
Very helpful - thank you!
btw "Coax the Vinyl" could become a catch-phrase - and mean many things ;-)
Coax, coax, coax the vinyl. The catch phrase for vinyl wrappers and maybe soon for Rappers.
I’m doing white dc-fix vinyl wrap on my Behringer Truth speakers and they have exactly the same shaped round corners. Thank you for making this instruction video!
Anyone got a video on coaxing?
Coax the vinyl drinking game 🍺
coax that vinyl real good (barry white playing in the background)
"Don't scorch the vinyl we're here to make friends"
And the Vinyl said, "Ouch, Damn your burning me and permanently wrinkling my skin, I thought we were friends."
So very important and true, especially with any vinyl the has a pattern in it like carbon fiber!
Yes no schorch only coax!
These came out clean. Love the white on black. nice work!
I am taking orders on #coaxthevinyl hats and shorts now LMAO!!!
Thanks. How do those corners look after some time? Does the vinyl "pull back" to it's original form?
It did pucker ever so slightly but you have to really look closely to see it. Still looks great overall!
Coaxed that thing up somethin’ real nice like
Can I convince the vinyl instead?
picturedlife1 yes absolutely
No, Convince your squeegee, pulling and heat gun tol coax the vinyl. You need to convince them that they can "smoothly coax the vinyl".
It's all about consent.
How’s the vinyl holding up, has it started to peel off?
Thanks and cheers!!!
It's still holding strong. A couple of corners have ever so slightly peeled up but all in all still looks great.

Do I coax the vinyl ?@@QuickandDirty
it is all about coaxing the vinyl.
What should I do to the vinyl?
You want to go ahead and gently coax it.
He does go a little Bob Ross around 3:50. LOL "Just gentle circles..."
Had to Coax the volume down.. ;-)
Clarity cannot be compared coaxing the the volume control knob to move to the left by osmosis. LOL
hahahahahahahahaha five stars, would read again
One more question, please. Was that matte white?
Yeah it was.
This is hella ASMR.
what can i do if i dont have heat gun?
So funny this must be your first time lol. Brilliant
Where are the happy fucking trees?
Wanna play a drinking game that gets u hammered asap watch this an take a shot every time this guy says to coax lmfao

What kind of vinly is this?
Hey there's a link in the description. Thanks :)
Sorry, how many coax's in total?
It's something you just kinda have to feel out. It's kind of like trying to count the number of licks it takes to get to the center of a Tootsie Pop.
FANTASTIC
What about the rest of the speaker? I would like to wrap the entire speaker finish.
You'll have to remove the drivers to do that. Good luck!
I had to coax myself out of taking my own life after watching this video! lol
In all seriousness, very nice work though...the speaker really did come out looking sharp!
I might tackle a pair of LSi15's with fire engine red.

Coax the vinyl, m8, coax the vinyl!
When I heard "coax the vinyl" I was getting Bob Ross vibes.
"Don't force it where it doesn't want to go." #metoo
Simply "Coax It" ... Don't Force It"
At what stage do I start and stop the coaxing?
You'll hear the boss music start, prepare to cease all coaxing once that score plays. 🎼
You sound like the Bob Ross of Vinyl Wrapping

and if your want a smooth finish that delights all then you must seduce or "Coax" your vinyl.

I liked and subbed. You are a reseller/ecommerc?
Cool hwip
I almost got a nervous breakdown just watching you putz around with the vinyl. Wouldn't it be simpler just to paint the damn speaker?
Yes, and permanent.
step 1. coax the vinyl
step 2. heat up the vinyl
step 3. Let the vinyl go where it wanna go
step 4. Profit
You done fukked up that speaker....wrinkles, bubbles everywhere!
Tee hee hee
Bob Ross....lol
Posted b4 I read...lol
I wouldn't coax the vinyl so I manhandled it.
Oh man only five thumbs up one comment besides mine everybody misses the yard sales I'll give you a thumbs up even 6 have a good day.
Just got back from a decently successful yardsale today with Tink... I'm editing it now.
Thank God I have an employee that is all thumbs, so we give you and your informative video 10 thumbs up!
the bob ross of vinyl
Sounded like a gameboy towards the end
How many times are you going to say "coax the vinyl" Are you still coaxing your vinyl ?????
OMG I can’t even watch the video because now I’ve got to go coax some vinyl right now. Just coax the vinyl. Kill me now.
Coax it on down.
Stop saying "coax" it's doin' my head in!
Coax the vinly key point just coax it
Coax the Vinyl
Share cokes with the vinyl until it does what you want it to do
ImSoOriginal it's true
just be gentle and practice, vinyl like people appreciate and are more cooperative with warm smooth advancement, do burn anyone.
Beer for every coax lol
It'll getche drunk bruh
I would have removed the drivers first
I wanna coax me some vinyl
Uhmmm, I’m not sure how to coax..or the meaning of it.
Had to watch with sound off, Sick of hearing that bloody word

Your are so persuasive, I’d like you to coax my tube steak...

Yea, they are a joke.
Same here.
"It put the lotion on the skin"
Something tells me this guy has a black van with no windows and a bumper sticker that says “coax the vinyl”
Lol
You remind me of bob Ross for some reason
Stop mocking him. I didn't coax the vinyl. My life is ruined. Coax the vinyl. Just don't argue. Coax the vinyl.
Just saw this video and I can't believe anyone would do anything like that to a beautiful speaker like the Polk. A cheap or scratch pair of speaker, OK, but not a quality speaker like a Polk LSi series speaker.
It's vinyl, it peels right off if I want to return it to the way it was. Thanks for the concern though!
The lines were not clean enough because you didn't coax the vinyl enough.
No it's a good point though.
Do you want to coaks the vinyl into place? Lol
Bobby McCourt really you just have to convince it into place lol
I would prefer painting, much easier
Easier, but permanent.
Breath deep.. now coax the vinyl. Lol
Definitely breath deep and relax before cutting any vinyl.
Antifa joke in a speaker video???
Your videos will get more likes if you just put music in the background instead of "coaxing the vinyl"

Why would you do that to real wood? Those are pretty rare and pricey speakers too. To each their own.
greebuh it peels right off
loving my set... just picked them up for 200 bucks.. they're mint..
I love the look with the white.. I'm going to be doing this with my speakers I'm just trying to decide between vinyl wrap and painting them

Wut
Antifa comment was gold. Nice job on your speaker. I'm considering something like this on an older set of oak speakers that look very dated. Thanks.
Did you do it yet?
Got a pair of ugly speakers coming in and I'm considering doing this
@@erikpoephoofd I actually got some real wood (birch) veneer and re-veneered my oak cabinets. It was a lot of work but I'm happy with the results.
