Thanks. Never in a million years would I have guessed that IGNORE() does that! It's definitely useful though. On the subtotals, I struggle to think of a scenario when I'd want subtotals in a table like that. I'll let you know if it ever springs to mind. Have a great weekend.

Awesome video.... I used these functions on multi echelon optimization of stock. That a great way to put together data especially to calculate quickly financial impact exploded by region, category et...

Nice video, thanks, only the rollup function i don't understand what it can be used for, the only thing i saw in your video was true or false but no subtotal number. I do like the ignore function explanation. I have noticed that in the data view if you use ignore you indeed see the category with a blank sales, but if i use the same table in the report view it still filters out the blancs. Is there also a possibility by viewing the sales and the blanc values in visualisation view?

It seems interesting as this might be the process going on behind the scenes when you are bringing years, categories, subcategories on the canvas (kind of selecting the right true on subtotals) but apart from DB developers when this might be useful? It's about organizing our data , smth similar to having lots of redundant columns from other tables

In rare occasions. When I find a good example , I will make a video.

On scenario when we need to understand this stuff is when we copy a query from the Performance panel and paste it into DAX Studio.

With my data, I used ignore to identify sales months with blanks, and I fill it with another measure. I got exatly the table that i wanted (year, month, store, products, category and sales), but then, when a try to do a relatioship, between this table and "my stores" or "products", I got the message "a circular Dependency was detected" :(
