    THIS IS NOT A REVIEW. Comment your experience with the Mavs below 👇

      My experience is kinda the same as in BSGC review. They broke in fully after about 6 - 7 proper slides. They were grippy with skin on, but not like "hellishly". After skin was gone they started leaving quite a lot of thane. At the same time they gave about the same amount of grip as venom magnums, but smoother and with like more inertia. They need to be riden a lot to get along with the way they are maintaining speed, but with our kind of roads they slide quite nice and friendly and dump thane lines. But I know it can be very different for your pavement.
      I am not realy a fan of their shape, but I love their absorbtion. I think they must be one of the best wheels for bad pavement and I love to try how they would ride and slide on rodes I would not ride otherwise.

      weirdly they haven't thaned for me, like if they thane it's barely visible. I also don't think they're grippy as magnums without skin - but Ill try magnums again soon and will le you know,
      Good to hear about the rough roads/bad pavement feedbac. They do well on that I think too.
      Also, I suspect I was sent a proto set of wheels ... i might be wrong but I will ask

    Your area is probably one of the best spots to torture test wheels. Definitely need to make a video ranking durable wheels for freeride!

    I was also suprised how grippy they are. The skin was gone after a few slides but they still grip alot and the stopping power is amazing. My broken in 74a mags felt super icy compared to them. The slide is really nice, easy to control, somehow sugary/butttery, a bit like on the 77a Kegel. But I had times when it threw almost off my board. I Think its because of the wide flexible lips. if you place your weight directly over the wheel it can hookup quite hard. Not the fastest rollspeed I think but its a fun and super grippy downhill wheel which I highly recommend!

    Try Fresh mags on the same setup. You’ll think they are more grippy. I’ve tried the Maverick wheels too. After they break in, they will a very very slidey buttery wheel.

      They felt grippier than Mags fr. But i think Mags feel grippier depending on the pave ...
      I can't get fresh Mags easily haha, but I do have a setup that I used with Fresh mags. I will try the Mavs on them. They still have a bit if skin so I think it would be decent comparison

      @samthespark 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@downhill254skate you should def try the fresh mags on the same trucks though so the comparison is accurate. My ronins make wheels grip harder in the slide compared to other trucks like slarogues. Good going!

    They are very grippy at first but they do break in very nice 👍 a lot like mags . They are a sweet set of wheels once you get use 2 them

    What precision truck would you recommend me for my first set. I'm riding the rocket werwolf with randal 125mm's but I want a more stable setup. The options I'm thinking about right now are the ronin billet catanas, bear smokies, dh cybins.

      for the smal width and wb, I'd say a proper slalom dh truck, like Slorogues, or Smokies, Katanas work nice too

      @@downhill254skate so if i had the opportunity to get ronin katanas, they would work too? Would you recommend the split or the low rake edition of the 115mm-124mm billet katanas?

    What is chunk and skin?

    • @downhill254skate

      skin is the surface of the wheel when it is brand new. Chunk is when a bit of the wheel comes off
