    I think what I took away from this video is that castling isn't forced! So many people castle in fear of an inevitable attack, when really you can delay castling as white and play these super quick and effective attacking lines! Thanks for the tips Igor!

    Hooray for the cat! Life is good. As are these clearly presented lines which are practical for everyday club level play.

  • @ToriYamazaki
    @ToriYamazaki ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Another line to consider is not 12...Nxb4 which clearly loses as shown, but 12...Bxc4. This avoids the loss of a piece, but white is still better after 13.Nxc6...bxc6 14.Qc2...Be6 (14...Bb5?? 15.a4 and now black does lose a piece) 15.Qxc6+...Bd7 16.Qc3.

      You can play Bd3 and then you have a threat, B4 to trap the knight. C5 is the only move that would save him and it's a bad position for black

  • @Zywl

    mhhh, I'm confused, previous videos say that the pin with Bg5 is a mistake by white and now it is the recommended move?

    • @satgurs
      @satgurs ปีที่แล้ว

      it isn't a good move, but it's very easy for your opponent to mess it up if they don't know what they're doing

    • @EternalSilverDragon
      @EternalSilverDragon ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I recall a video where Bg5 was a mistake by White, but it was a little different. White had already castled and so Black was able to attack by advancing the kingside pawns.

    All of that is pretty logical except for one point when you push d5 and fork the Be6 and Nc6, can’t the knight just attack your Bc4? I mean yeah you can take the Bishop and the give a check with that pawn but you only win a pawn and an open king.

      It's easy you can just take the pawn and then play Nd4. If they take your knight, Qh5+ wins the game. If not, you trade off knights and have a fine position
