I feel like you're missing the point of both Sasuke and Naruto's sides. It has nothing to do with the leaf village for Sasuke anymore. He's saying those things to simply provoke Naruto. Naruto is his hurdle. Naruto is his new itachi. Remember how Itachi talked about having to kill those closest to you to gain real power. Naruto is the only one left at this point for Sasuke. He's the only hurdle left to gain that power. He said so at the bridge. But he can't bring himself to do it he cant break that llast tie to achieve it. So he's goading Naruto to force him to fight him so he has no choice but to do it. And for Naruto. Its not about the friendship or Sasuke. Its about chasing him and saving him. His ninja way prevents him from letting go. He has to bring Sasuke back because he's made that promise to the village and himself. He can never achieve his goal of Hokage if he cannot save him because that is his Ninja way. No one left behind. Its how he changed Gara, Tsnuade and even how he changed Pain. They saw that determination to change the world to stop the fighting by understanding and compassion and to never allow anyone to feel like he had growing up. Unless he can change Sasuke he doesnt feel he can continue his path because he can't leave him behind either. Thus he in return goads Sasuke because he has to change too just like the others. Its rather beautiful story telling that has been said over and over through out the entire series.
Kamui is the name of the technique that Kakashi uses to send other people/objects to another dimension. That's how he damaged Deidara's arms and stopped the missile Pain fired at Choji. "Kamui" is also the name for gods/divine beings in Japanese mythology. All techniques granted by a Mangekyo Sharingan are named after Japanese gods/mythological figures. (Amaterasu, Tsukuyomi, etc.)
This is the first time the name of the Jutsu is mentioned though. How does Kakashi know what the Jutsu is called? Did the Uchiha genes in his Sharingan eye eventually give him the knowledge of the attack name, or did he research it somehow?

Naruto’s speech to Sasuke is a really cool way to illustrate what I thought was a one-off line about “reading minds with an exchange of fists.” I didn’t appreciate what Naruto was trying to do here at first but I appreciated after rewatching because he’s approaching communication with Sasuke on a different level after everything he’s been through (Jiraiya’s death, talking to Nagato, learning of Itachi, etc). And it clearly moved Sasuke too - that’s why had such a reflexive, visceral response to Naruto being able to reach him despite his stubbornness. Before, Sasuke kept his cool when Naruto’d try to reach him without truly being able to understand him, but Naruto is not only able to understand him better but it thus angers Sasuke that he is so unwavering in his attempts to reach out after everything.
1:06 When Madara said Danzo took Shisui's eye before he died, he meant that Danzo crushed the eye before dying. He did it just in case Madara survived his final attack so he wouldn't be able to use Shisui's powers.
Therapist here: my opinion is that Naruto being willing to die with Sasuke isn't co-dependency. I think of co-dependency as a lack of agency and being disconnected from your sense of self (closer to Sakura's criticism of herself and overall arc through the story). Naruto is making a choice of his own volition based on his own values. Hope that makes sense!

In case you two aren't aware there are Naruto Shippuden DVDs that cuts out the unnecessary filler. Personally I don't find them unnecessary since I have a bad memory and always appreciated the reminder of what had happened. Not to mention that they were necessary back when the show first came out where literal years had gone by since most episodes. But I get the frustration with it when binging. Anyway great reaction and I look forward to more! Also glad you two are doing well after Hurricane Milton!

@majincaveman2709 he talking about the Flying Raijin justsu. There's a difference between that and Kamui. Kamui takes you to another dimension and from there you can teleport anywhere. Flying Raijn however only teleports you from one place to another without going to another dimension. Another difference is Flying Raijin is the fastest teleportation jutsu

Danzo destroyed the eye prior to his death so that Tobi wouldn't get it. Now that I think about it, Tobi wanting them to fight hurts his own plan because Sasuke wants to kill Naruto and they need em alive. The Kamui is Kakashi's MS ability
Even without the whole blinding thing, there's an argument you can make that naruto at this point was actually stronger than sasuke, naruto basically mastered nature energy and defeated a much stronger opponent compared to sasuke with danzo, plus sasuke hasnt really mastered his mangekyo sharingan powers
Baris, I along with many fans don't like the notorious flashbacks and filler Naruto has, but I'll play devil's advocate here. People who didn't grow up in this show's era are spoiled by streaming services and being able to binge a series whenever they want. Naruto, DragonBall, and other anime of the time were formatted for tv. We had to wait an entire week for a new episode, so you may forget what happened, let alone what transpired a season or two ago (unless it was a major part of the plot).
Baris I completely understand and agree with your frustration on Naruto and especially Sasuke. To me at this point of the series, one of the main reasons Naruto is trying to save Sasuke is because he is trying to break the negative cycle of hatred, which means stopping Sasuke without killing him and get through to him because ultimately Sasuke is this generation's Madara Uchiha and we know how his story went. That's just my thoughts though. Really at this point of the series, I was frustrated with Sakura the most. I think Naruto and Sakura should stay friends.
It’s the curse of being an older shonen or some anime in general lol. A lot of older anime could be edited or cut to be shorter and only show the important beats. Dragon ball z for instance had scenes that would drag out for seemingly no reason. It made me mad being a dbz fan. That half of the episode was them throwing glances and then they hit you with the “find out next time”when basically nothing happened. Anime has improved on all sides because the old format and editing did not age well

No flashbacks in Naruto is unnecessary, it’s usually for a remainder or for reflections for a specific point in the plot

This show with be 50-100 episodes shorter if they cut out all the unnecessary flashbacks that they show multiple times as it goes on
