I have been eating Ghost Peppers with my meal. This is fourth day in a row. I think one of the common mistake all hot food eaters commit is to start eating the food immediately after it comes to the table, when it is piping hot. The temperature heat enhances the pepper heat. Kinda like drinking cold water after chewing mint gum. Wait for it to cool down, add ice if you will. Also, try to eat fat with the hot food. Ghee, Butter, bacon, cheese, fatty youghurt (indian style). Ghee is my personal favorite followed by bacon. And remember, just don't eat the hot food for the sake of eating it. Make sure there is flavor in it as well. What is the point of burning yourself, if you can't enjoy it.

Tip for people interested in eating hot and spicy but are not good at it: sprinkle it with sesame oil. The oil will gave a slightly different flavour, but it is way faster than milk or curd. They use it in many parts of Indian home cooking when the food is slightly more spicy for younger members of their family. And I have seen sesame oil being used in Korean cooking to balance the excess heat.

I've taken lots of non-Indian friends to Indian restaurants. 95% of them have no idea how to properly eat the food. They eat the rice, naan and curry all separately.
For all the NYC viewers, Brick Lane curry restaurants in the US are named after Brick Lane in London (In the east of the city where Jack the Ripper murdered his victims) The curries are mostly anglo-Indian, ie curries that were invented in the UK over the past century for Brit pallets, and you will not find most of what is on their menu's anywhere in India. Balti curries were invented in Birmingham UK, not in India. Ditto Tikka Massala and Madras/Korma's are totally different to what you would have in India. Fact, most "Indian" food is not actually Indian but is mostly Bengali & Pakistani in origin. Enjoy as most of us Brits love our curries and they are more popular than Fish & Chips etc.

I ate Phall 2 times in my life, loved the taste, it's absolutely delicious, extremely hot, but very tasty. Needed 2 yoghurts and a bowl of ice cream to finish it off but I absolutely loved it. It was an incredible experience :D

I ate Phall 2 times in my life, loved the taste, it's absolutely delicious, extremely hot, but very tasty. Needed 2 yoghurts and a bowl of ice cream to finish it off but I absolutely loved it. It was an incredible experience :D
