The day of his birthday in 1781, musicians came at night to play this serenade under his balcony. They were sent by his friend the baroness von Waldstätten. It was the beginning of his new free life in Vienna, 10 years before his death...
As of this writing, 23 persons gave a thumbs down to this exquisite composition. How could anyone dislike this gorgeous work? It's really true. There is no accounting for taste.
@@cesteres There's nothing wrong with the audio. The way I see it this is a case of 23 persons not appreciating the beauty of this composition. All of Mozart's works are sublime.
Wonderful performance. Always felt that although WA Mozart was a genius that a musical title was always missing from his musical history. May l suggest 'The Master of the Serenade'. Especially when you consider how many he wrote for both Wind and String ensembles. Just a thought.
The beggining of the Adagio is quite similar to the oboe solo of the aria «Ah per questo» in Alceste by Gluck.
Thanks for that info! Having a look at Duckduck Go's images of Hubert's Swing, we see a number of close variations of that Swing, but none with the 2 statues framing the pic! And, the statue on the right can be seen in different poses! Interesting!
Listening to this music is like opening a door to a peaceful world, where every worry dissipates, and I can completely relax.
The Wonderfulness of Mozart’s serenade is unspeakable

So wundervoll💖 alles Gute zum Namenstag Wolfgang Amadeus
That opening to the Adagio - WOW! Chills on the back of my neck.

wish he could have done more wind serenades, they are my favorite.
Splandid writing for the winds as Mozart used to do. OUtstanding performance.
I like the "used to do." It's true he hasn't written "for the winds" in quite a while. www.lanceaspiritunbroken.com
I'm performing this with my university double quintet. I'm incredibly excited to perform it! :)
How did it go?
Very beautiful !

Mozart, oh yeahh 🤟
For maestro Mozart, composing musical pieces was like eating "a bread with butter"
4:20 best little part.
I'd very much like to play that part but I'm unfortunately 2nd horn. Also, this is bloody impressive to be played at such a speed.

The painting is mentioned in the description: 'Painting: The Swing, Hubert Robert'

So many interminable ads! Completely unwatchable! Give it a miss guys, unless you like Mozart's divine music together with ridiculous ads.
