Verlander wasn't going to have 2 bad starts in a row. Good pitching beats good hitting.
He was struggle at 3 innings tho.

Yankee legacy and global brand reach is second to no baseball team, even the Dodgers. As for an organization, Yankee's GM and upper management prove time and again to be incompetent and ill tempered -- not unlike to the New York Times. They've tried their best to purchase their tournament successes, with a steady stream of costly public failures. But, what's most recognizable is their tortured fan base. Yankee fans are the most unhappy collection of people I've ever seen, anywhere. I'm unsure if it's due to living in a state that's constantly mismanaged, their corrupt elected 'leaders', the weather, crime, traffic, cost of living, the mass of inconsiderate people, or what exactly. Long gone are the days in NYC where baseball was available to (1) enjoy the sights and sounds of a contest, (2) feel good with a win, or (3) learn to take defeat in a classy and thoughtful manner. Baseball tells us about people. Off topic but still related, it was thrilling to learn about Josh Naylor's (lack of) baseball citizenship with his preposterous "rock the baby" antic. Rightfully, the Yankee fans rubbed it in his face! I loved it. All fans of the game cheer for putting a hot dog in his place. Houston had a hot dog, too; Jose Siri. A self-absorbed clown with a lifetime batting average at the Mendoza Line, Siri was moved out of Houston on the next bus. He's Tampa's problem now. Stay well. Cheers.
