Currently watching...im not a complete beginner because i can atleast be flexible at the lowest sop nodes level, understanding the fundamentals...but this type of video where you talk about every single decision and hopefully meaning behind the node i can see it makes an incredibly good learning way. 👍
this kind of content offers a lot a value whom ever wants to learn the programm and get a grip on the way operating in it, even if modeling isnt a topic of interesst. keep it up!
Hello Peter, I hope you are having an amazing day, I am a have a bit of a problem in houdini, full version by the way, when I use add node to add point, the point don't appear in the view port, knowing that I enabled view points option, If you please I need your help Master!
Hi , is there a specific reason you use circle with copy sop and skin to make the tubes instead of using sweep node? is there an advantage to it or you are just used to this way ?
This has to do with if I ever have to go back to the path and do something custom to the normal and up vector of the template points - this works on more than curves, points on a grid, scattered points, particles, instance point clouds etc. So for a curve a sweep sop could work, but if they were free floating points, then I would have to use a different approach. So I prefer at times to use an approach that is more uniform/robust across different datatypes.
Hey Peter, you could check out a reference gatherer for your next battle / project. It would be much faster than snipping tool for getting images. You simply drag and drop from browser into program and hit ctrl + p and it lays it all out for you. www.pureref.com/
6:54 Houdini Peter looks like he's listening to Commentator Peter while he's working 😂
It's like WWF but more...more on the keyboard
This is awesome! So cool to see the problem solving in "real time" :) Immensely helpful!

The next battle will be in two weeks, so I’ll try to make another one of these kind of recordings if all goes well.

Sops is the start and end of many operations in Houdini, so getting a good grasp of them is useful indeed!
Glad you enjoyed the video!
It was fun to watch. I liked the final result. Thanks for sharing.
cool~THX!

Hey, have a look at the parameters for the add sop.
You need to toggle a checkbox for the point to be added. Good luck!
